WHOA, Kodos, you actually use the SE code, I haven't seen that in forever!

Plenty of ppl use the code. Look:

Actually, it could probably do with an update. Any suggestions for new code questions? Better not post them to this thread though, we don't want this one drifting too far off topic.

Hello Everyone,

As suggested below this is a good thread to introduce myself on. I'm 36, a commercial pilot, from Sussex in England. I've been playing war games since about 14 when a friend introduced me to Starship Troopers (the original Version).

I've been playing SE3 for a couple of years and recently got SE4 Gold.

I haven't posted before apart from one help request getting the demo to run.

I hope to try out some MODs in the near future. Any suggestions where to start?

What most peoplke don't realise is that the SE Code is a rip-off of the old Malfite Kode found here: http://usefans.net/malfite.php

adrik thorsen, change your login-name. Political incorrect is something else than insulting and stupidity.

tesco samoa May 31st, 2002 09:16 PM

Re: OT: How old are you ?

I agree. Adrik change your nick. That nick will offend alot of people. And this forum will not tolerate that. Perhaps in dicussion and formulated arguements..... but not that way. It is uncalled for. If you do not change it to a more appropriate nick (for this forum)I will request for you to be Banned from forum.

I am just letting you know. That way you have the chance to decide if you wish to join this community or leave it.

i'am 37 and employed as an commecial auditor right now; playing strategix since i was 14 or so; board games firstly and after that...wow, the amiga...great battles and long wars, like 'empires', and nearly all games from SSI; only a few great games for me right now: civilization, space empires and stars!

Phoenix-D May 31st, 2002 10:09 PM

Re: OT: How old are you ?

Someone mail the 'SS' boy a clue.

I say "boy" because if he's old enough to understand what he's aping, I'd have to use language strong enough to get me Banned.

Speaking of which..

"One time we had one person way back that tried to stir up some trouble here on the forum but he was removed and rightly so by the admin and by the outcry of the Forum's members."

I'm not sure if he was trying to stir up trouble or not. That episode was just *weird*.

Yeesh.

The Malfite "K"ode is pretty thin there.

Easy guys give him the benifit of the doubt. his other Posts are not 'trouble stirring stuff'.

No starting any flame wars etc... We have made a request. Lets see what becomes of it. I hope the private message wasn't too strong.

You should get that thread locked before any crap Posts show up in it. or delete it.

It is good to see we defend this Forum.

I do not want it to change into what most of the web is like.

Perhaps a lesson will be learned and we should leave it at that.

Thanks in advance.

Greetings...I am 38 years old and have been playing SEIV for only a short while,...so be gentle. I have been a sci-fi fan since watching Classic Trek reruns as a kid....I grew up on pac-man and space invaders (archade games for those of you who are too young to be familiar with them)...I am probably dating myself here but...oh well. Loved to play Battleship and games like stratego. In terms of computer games...I love Populas, Lemmings, The Sims and Alpha Centauri. (Not bad for a girl huh?)

In case you were wondering...I am learning the game so I can spend more time with my boyfriend who plays it thirty hours a week.

Which of you Gentleman are going to help me learn this game so I can beat my boyfriend at it?

Now, I have been lurking here for a few weeks...is it really safe to post here?

lets all thanks lemmy for starting this one. anybody seen radiohead? "in a fight between lemmy and god, who would win? ...trick question, lemmy IS god!"

forgive my sorry references to 90s pop culture, but i figured any motorhead fans (70s-2000s) would appreciate it even without seeing the film.

on topic tho, im still the same age i was before, 12 years old. born in '78. still cant remember any of it.

edit: maybe it wasnt called radiohead, but it was a dumb movie about two stoners that hijack a radiostation with squirtguns.

I'm 26, living in Germany, a student of history and dedicated to playing comp games since good ol' C-64 times(I actually had an C-128 and was very proud of it, hehe, 64k more than my friends http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif ). Stumbled over SE4 nearly two years ago and have been reading here for the same amount of time, seldomly posting...shame one me http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif . I love PBW and finished two great games(DarkWars and DiploWar II...thx to all players involved for the fun I had!)

25. I kinda work at a place that is almost a company. No, really...the reality is that vague.

We were poor growing up and isolated. So my first strategy games were ones my friends and I created using leftover toys. We had rules and codes of conduct. Mucho fun. All was going well until the day we decided a trench war would be more fun if instead of math determining kills, we used fire crackers.

Parents weren't in the mood to buy us more figures, seeing we just blew them up, and we weren't about to shell out for them ourselves. Luckily a friend of mine got his first computer...and, well....that is another story.

EDIT: Oh, and since we didn't have outside influences to keep our strategy fetishes alive, my experience is that the game does not make the geek. Rather the geek is either a product of genetics or divine revelation. I perfer the latter.

Well, I was 12 years old and I never had enough money to buy me an Amiga or Atari ST.
I played on the C64(at a friends home) since 1985 (Summer/Winter´Games, GI Joe etc.) but got my own comp in late '87. Aw, that was fun....Pirates!, Vermeer, Hanse, Battles of Napoleon and many many many more good games...my comp went boom in '93 I think...then a few years nothing and since '98 PC.
