What makes a routing bukavac turn about and fight again?

Shame?

Or did he turn berserk, regenerate hit points to go over the limit that had him flee in the first place?

Bananadine January 19th, 2010 03:24 PM

Re: Mistletoe - an LA game for busy people (in progress)

Can regeneration cancel routing?!? I had thought nothing could cancel routing, except of course the end of the battle.

The unit wasn't regenerating or berserk.

Ooh, I want to see my turn now.

I'm not yet convinced of the value of bukavac as remote summons.

Re: Mistletoe - an LA game for busy people (in progress)

Wait what am I saying, of course I know about things that cancel routing. Death, probably Charm, certainly going berserk... well, I'd thought that nothing in this particular situation could cancel routing in this particular way, anyhow. :)

I've been wondering about that myself. It was awfully impressive to me to see the first couple of them, anyway!

Admittedly undines and a WQ aren't exactly a good target for tramplers... Bad targetting on my part, I think.

Re: Mistletoe - an LA game for busy people (in progress)

According to scouts, Patala's flying demigods could swallow at least a quarter of C'tis without warning, whenever they became tired of picking at Atlantis. What defense does C'tis plan? Domes of flaming death? Hmm.

Re: Mistletoe - an LA game for busy people (in progress)

God help us I have delayed hosting. I got really mixed up somehow, I think LlamaServer was showing weird times for a while like it sometimes does? And I thought the deadline was tomorrow and I am so tired now.

I will pull the next turn back by the same amount to make up for it (unless someone objects).

Hm actually LlamaServer is showing weird times right now--it says it last updated 14 minutes from now.

Well now I have to stay up at least long enough for the delay to register. :(

Well it did.

Re: Mistletoe - an LA game for busy people (in progress)

There's only you to go, unless Ermor desperately want to submit their post-mortem turn. So no real need to pull back the next turn - just force-host this one when you submit.

We continue to play on a higher plane of existence. And there, we are winning!

Hm, well, I guess you're right but I finished my turn pretty close to the deadline anyway so I'll just let it go now in service of the ideal of uh something or other.

Stellar Focus, not so impressive... Patala has the right idea. Turn up the heat slowly enough, and the lizardman won't jump out of the pot before it boils!

Re: Mistletoe - an LA game for busy people (in progress)

Yes. It's been exciting, though increasingly burdensome.

It may become less exciting, if Patala, C'tis, and Bogarus finally succeed in giving Atlantis to Patala... how much more interesting our war might be, if anyone other than Patala had hope of winning!

Maybe the honorable Patalans could send a few rudras into C'tis, just to be sporting. Not to worry--the rudras would be in no danger!

Re: Mistletoe - an LA game for busy people (in progress)

Well, I have that delusion that maybe I might handle myself better on ground than underwater.

Bananadine September 20th, 2010 10:28 AM

Re: Mistletoe - an LA game for busy people (in progress)

According to experience, Patala knows how to beat your Tartarians and your sauromancers. Do you know how you'll kill its angels and rudras? Fighting on the land, you will have great difficulty keeping a rudra away from your lizard mages.

Atlantis suggests that you defeat one Patalan army, before wagering your whole nation on your supposed ability to do so! ...Or, if you end up losing whatever fight you're preparing for at the Atlantian capital, then consider that the foe that defeated you is itself being defeated by someone much richer!

Even if the Atlantian capital is lost, the sea will remain an expensive target for anybody. Patala has sacrificed five demiliches (plus items) for a chance to own the small sea outside Marignon--a sea that produces a total of three gems per month. When will that investment ever be paid for! Maybe more than one nation ought to consider restricting its battles to the land.

;) Ah but you see from what you've stated that's all the reason there needs to be for the triple alliance against you. If 3 larger nations combined can barely make headway against you then how would 2 fair against a (potentially) stronger Atlantis?

You're a wiley opponent and that makes you dangerous. The best bet is take you down now while you're on the defensive.

You mention the payback on my demiliches. I can make more demiliches. If I recall you lost 9 commanders in that battle. How long can you last a war of attrition?

Bananadine September 21st, 2010 03:23 PM

Re: Mistletoe - an LA game for busy people (in progress)

Look how little Patala fears C'tis! And with good reason--for every crippled Tartarian commander in C'tis, there are two strong ones in Patala, cured by the Gift of Health! What, again, can C'tis use to fight against that?

Maybe some Atlantian allies would help.

More sea trolls, C'tis? If you have so many water gems you don't need, then why not just send them straight to Patala? It would save us all some trouble.

Gregstrom has finally lost heart for good. A call for substitutes has turned up nrasch, who seems to be human and is therefore a million times better than the AI. He is set to take his first turn immediately. Please send any necessary propaganda his way.

Re: Mistletoe - an LA game for busy people (in progress)

Patala owns themost land, then C'tis and Bogarus. Atlantis holds its capital and most of the water. A long war for the seas is underway.
Provinces with 5000 pop or more are rare and considered rather rich around C'tis.

Ditto! This has to be some kind of record. I thought I survived until the end of the game, but no, it turns out I was eliminated somewhere in the anonymous middle. Incredible.

I don't recall seeing it that way. Maybe one of our battle views was out of sync or something.

Re: Mistletoe - an LA game for busy people (in progress)

I've just sent in a turn, but LlamaServer seems to have stopped listing the game sometime within about half an hour before I did so. Disturbing. If my turn is lost, I would prefer to roll back the next one and submit it again. But maybe everything will happen normally. LlamaServer is a strange beast.

Bananadine December 19th, 2011 07:36 PM

Don't know if you guys noticed a bug where the llamaserver got confused about which turn you were on this turn (if you tried to send in a turn file it would have bounced it). Fixed.

Also, can't believe you guys are still playing on turn 249! Crazy!!

Thanks for fixing the error llamabeast. The server was left thinking there was only about half a day left before the next deadline, so I manually added the remainder of the usual time.

Yes I saw the weird turn numbers.
I really suck end-game. I've been unable to take a single underwater fort so far.
Then again, gem-gens kind of make the resource graphs irrelevant.
