Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
The lizards are greatful that the merry monkeys are prepared to reserve a reservate for the lizards. However, the lizards never requested a reservate, and we will do our swamp thing where ever we please!
In other news, do you know just how insane a tartarian with Gift of Kurgi is? "Insane" gets a brand new meaning because of insanity 40 (at the moment) and shattered soul 25... Why oh why did it have to be a tartarian who picked up that artefact from the dead cold fingers of the Agarthan SC... |
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
The free people of Pythium must protest against the plans suggested by the unholy primates of Bandar Log - not only would a "free" world not be consisting of castes, but the tyrannic crimes committed by monkeys already start to fill volumes for our scriptors.
People! Humans! Pretender gods! Do you want YOUR bones used by monkeys to worship a strange black monolith again? This would be a long, dark odyssey into the deep space of monkey abnormality, and it would at least take 2001 years until hope may arise again - don't wait that long, join the anti-monkey forces now! |
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Eh... Monolith? Come again?
Merry monkeys believe in enlightment and transcendency. Its stil debated whether humans can achieve the state of enlightment or not, or even if they have a soul at all, but we are willing to teach, provided that humans accept their role of humble students in our ashrams and pay for the smoking weeds used during the ceremonies. And dont ya buy this crap about freedom'n'such. There aint such thing as freedom, since all things are imaginatory by their nature. Lack of castes defining everyone's place in society only leads to anarchy and disturbing thoughts. Caste system and weeds is everything you need; dont worry, be happy! |
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Re: monolith - I couldn't help it, but when thinking of 'civilized monkeys' "Space odyssey 2001" came to my mind ->monolith. Reference seems too weak, though, to be recognized ;)
|
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Well I googled it, to be honest. :) Thought you will reference to planet of apes, though.
|
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Nah, wouldn'r refer to planet of apes - I mean, who's dominant there, no way I'd promote monkeys reigning :p
|
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Since this is a really important turn, how about we postpone it until after WE? Say, Monday, evening?
|
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
You mean I'm not the only one having invested already >3hrs and not being finished yet? Vote for it! Any objections, otherwise I'll postpone.
Please respond fast if you want to object, so otherwise I could find some sleep tonight ;) |
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
I am ok with postponing.
|
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Postpone? Sure.
|
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Huh, I didn't read Kuritza's post thoroughly - he asked for "evening".
As I don't know about his exact timezone, I'll postpone to UTC evening - making it 22.00 UTC (yeah, I know, it's been called GMT..), and if you want to submit earlier, feel free to do so. Puh, I just imagine you not submitting in time due to me failing to postpone "correctly"... Edit: And just when I wrote this after submitting myself, Kuritza's turn is in. ' hope I haven't rushed you too much, not my intention. |
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Damn that was one nasty dispel :)))))
|
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
In how far? To what extent?
|
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Traditional request to postpone by 24-48 hours :)))))
|
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Well, 24-48hrs isn't exactly exact, but... :p
|
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
May I be totally untraditional and ask for just a precise 23.9999999 hours request? And directly grant it myself?...
|
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Go ahead. Throw in another 24 while we are at it.
|
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Is it that hard to set "Retreat" orders for all your commanders? You know, just copy+paste the orders.
Nope, no reason to thank me. Just helping where I can. Toran PS: postponed. |
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Both Merry Monkeys and Sly Nagas of Bandar Log dispraise Pythium destroyers of the world! Think of all the innocent forest animals, birds and lizards you have killed with your ungodly magic. Think of all the bad Karma you took!
Merry Monkeys consider this a clear sign that humans are irresponsible and Human caste shouldnt be higher than Vanaras in the social system of the future. |
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Do we have any plans for slowing down the hosting schedule for the Holidays? I'll be home, but usually I don't fire up the computer that much between Christmas eve and New Year, prefering to spend the time with my family.
|
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
As for the hosting schedule: I'd suggest (request as well :p) that we get another hostrun done before Christmas (means a 48h delay, as I'm away over the weekend), and then postpone until 2nd or 3rd January.
Would that be okay with everybody? As for Kuritza's lies - we even have documents that can prove Bandar Log's intention to wish for far more destruction and armageddoning if they don't manage to get our GoH down, so it should be obvious that they only care for their ultimate success, not for the living beings populating the land. Other than that, I took quite a beating this turn. Thanks guys :p |
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Delay is absolutely due, yes. We postpone every turn anyway, and with the Christmas holydays I dont even know if I will be home. ^^
(cough) Of course we treatened humans with massive destruction to talk them from destroying the world! Its what we call 'guile'. Humans also call it 'lies', being rather unenlightened beings and all. We monkeys strive to create a world everyone would love to live in, with free healthcare for everybody and even a perpetual storm as a bonus! :) |
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Regarding C'tis attack on Pythium, it is again the insane + mind-shattered tartarian doing his thing. He pillaged my province for two turns, good thing he decided to move on... Could somebody please stop him before he (or isn't it a "she"?) decides to come back to rape my lands... Gift of Kurgi is such a nice item, but it *definitively* is not good to have on a tartarian. Curse that day (s)he picked it up from the cold dead hands of that Agarthan.
|
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Lets pospone it further, by the way. Sorry, I have two really intense games in a lategame stage, and they tend to be hosted in the same day.
|
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Okay, now this should be sufficient to allow us both to submit our turns before Xmas.
If noone objects, I'll move the hosting date after Xmas manually to, say, 2nd January? |
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Absolutely.
|
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Hey guys, I know it's probably bad style, but I really need to postpone due to X-messy reasons. Yep, wanted to be finished by now with my turn, but am not, so I hope you will be able to forgive me.
It's mainly a showdown between Kuritza and me (getting beaten :p), but I still need you to forgive me anyway. |
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Take your time. Hope others dont mind as well. :)
|
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Duh. I'm leaving now for three days, one more than originally devised, and thus take the freedom to postpone until 4th of January.
I know, the game's slagging at the moment, but it's all that traveling time etc that adds to the game complexity. Will get better after that - sorry for any inconvenience, and have a nice new year's eve! |
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Speaking of travelling, I will be away for two weeeks... and probably wont have the time to make a turn before I leave. ^^
|
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Hm, you can't claim it's my fault there's no hosting before your return at least. But dang, yep, I'll postpone.
If you could let us know when you'll be back exactly, I could do an exact delay, as I guess that "two weeks" is just a rough number? |
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Hey there, finally the game continues - great! :)
I had postponed as I was away and had not found the monkey turn sent in before leaving - didn't want him to stale in this stage of the game. Hosting should continue now as usual. Probably with me losing ~20 provinces per turn ;) |
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Actually, I almost hoped to stale. That would give me a good excuse to go AI and stop playing. I cant begin to tell you how much I enjoyed two weeks without Dominions. :)
Oh well, back to our slaughter. I hope I'll make enough blunders to lose fast, making 100+ turns in a deliberate hurry. ))) |
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
For me the most interesting thing of each turn is to see who and where my insane & mind-shattered tartarian attacks next. Last turn she attacked the monkeys, a few turns ago she attacked Pythium, usually she just plunders my lands...
|
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Almost traditional 24h delay request from my side...
|
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Hey there.
After checking my turn, and talking to Kuritza, I would like to offer my conceding to him - thus ending my part of the game. Obviously, there's still other players left involved, so I need to ask you. My position is weaker than Bandar Log's for sure, and I took two severe defeats this turn. Although I still have forces left (and know that an ending could be dragged out for a few dozen turns..), I want to honour the circumstances - and accept him as a winner. If you are okay with that, I will end the game and declare Kuritza the winner of Lapis... Toran out. |
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
If Pythium concedes then I will as well.
|
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
I have been hesitant at throwing my weight on either side, as it did seem to me both sides were pretty equal, and my plan was to step on the side who were losing. However, if Pythium is now effectively out (even if I stepped in), then it is obvious the game is over and the apes won.
I made a couple harsh errors (the first being I messed up my pretender thinking she would be able to heal afflictions from the undead; well she wasn't...) of which the mistake of believing that Agartha and apes were allied was pretty decisive. I had a war going on with the apes (I attacked, after duly cutting off the NAP we had) which I thought was going pretty well, then Agartha invaded and I had to divert every reserve to halt them which resulted in the armies fighting the apes getting steamrolled (both wars were pretty much fought under the waves, and I just wasn't able to craft enough UW breathin items to keep enough shamans with the hard-hitters on both fronts; many brains were fried by the apes...). When it dawned to me the apes are not actually allied with Agartha, peace was quickly made (by this time I had already pretty much stopped Agarthan invasion and was taking lands back, but my beuautiful southern armies with unique summons, unique items and whatnots were mostly lost), and pretty soon after Agartha was steamrolled. At this point it was pretty obvious to me it is now a match between Pythium and the apes, and only my miasma (if even that) will allow me to see the end of this game. Well played Kuritza! :) |
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Merry Monkeys dont mind being declared a winning nation. ^^ Its good that humans finally agreed to reunite with the mainsteam branch of primate evolution.
|
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Ossa, can you please confirm if you are OK with finishing this game too?
|
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Well, although we could "over-rule" him by majority, a final response would be nice.
For my part - I had expected to be killed by mid-game, but the alliance with the monkey had proven to be one of the best (= most stable) alliances I've had before - thus allowing me to raise up in power parallel to Kuritza. Approaching the end game, I had learned quite a bit about what one should do, but of course the monkeys had done so far earlier before -> lots lots of gem generators that I now was lacking. Plus, I didn't know about the many counters to "obvious" strategies that players could use - I found them used against me, but was consequently limited to reacting to those tactics. I found Kuritza always one step ahead of me. The only chance I had seen to win against him (knowing about his advantage in gems AND experience) was the possibility of him making fatal mistakes - but he managed his forces quite well, and I never really found weak points to exploit... so he really earned the victory. I'd still love to get the turn file from when our hostilities started, and maybe the recent one. Plus, would you tell me how many gems were in the Storm and GoH ritual spells? Just for the experience :) Great game so far - Toran |
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
I will send you some turn files when I have the time, no problems.
GoH is +999 nature gems. It was crucial for me, so I alchemised all my astral gems to finally secure it. Current Perpetual storm is something like +60 or so, but I am not sure. It proved to be just ridiculously good against you, by the way, as my Rudras can fly during the storm, whereas your Angels cannot. |
Re: Lapis MA CBM Running 6/16 Players left
Yep, of course I'm fine with bowing under the wise leadership of our hairy cousins.
I though I wrote an answer already, but I must have tried to send it to fast after another one so it got deleted. |
