Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

Ah apologies, I tend to make assumption too early when something seems somewhat likely. Welcome back!

That said, remember most players don't hold it against folks that get overwhelmed/tired of a game and give a heads up before they go, which saves a lot of trouble for the rest of the players. Some players may not like it, but it's a lot better then silent quitting. So anytime you're reaching the breaking point, post here or pm me and I'll take care of things.

Now only Man remains, let's hope I jumped the gun there too...

Awund us also back, game on as normal.

meanwhile, can someone confirm the hosting time:
Next turn due: 17:41 GMT on Friday March 4th

Finalgenesis March 5th, 2011 07:34 AM

Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

Well Awund responded that he will play but staled again, I'm not sure what to make of this. He's also mention not minding leaving the game, I'll assume the latest stale to be changing his stance from minding to wanting to leave the game.

Given 3 consecutive stales, I don't think a nation the size of Man can be left to stale anymore.

I will post for a perm sub unless Awund submits a turn.

Finalgenesis March 5th, 2011 03:58 PM

Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

We have a Man sub. Please welcome Ossa!

Please update Ossa as to your diplomatic agreements, in case Awund won't brief Ossa on the state of affairs.

I will extend game to give Ossa a full 72 hours once he sends me his e-mail and receives the game turn from llamaserver, with further extension should he need them.

F,
Could I get a 48 hr extension? Alas, recent turn time requirements do not fit RL schedule..

Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

sure, extended by 48 hrs, good time to let Ossa get use to Man also.

Looks like I can expect a complex counter operation against my recent move!

Puhh... so many unnecessary mages.

I'll have to go to war just to cut some unecessary staff;)

A repeat performance from Agartha, Deja vu.

I can only feel sorry for Man for being dragged into all this. I'm sure the bribe offered by Agartha must have been enormous, enough for Man to aid the leading team.

Agartha has no answer for Rlyeh's astral... as seen in our continued donations to the Rlyeh item vault....

just hope everyone stays healthy. Nothing quite like the experience of your child vomiting at 2AM from the top bunk on a cruise in a pitch dark cabin.

Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

Put gravity to use and make use of the bottom bunk! And well, it builds character and is good for the soul, as the saying goes.

Oh if there're no subs don't sweat it (that said if there are that would be great), we can put the game on hold. If possible though could you see if you can wrangle in this turn before you go?

I assume everyone is okay with pausing game until SSJ comes back (about 6-7 days pause), speak up if that's not the case and I'll see about a sub.

Also just in case, if you're feeling like you're at your limit and want to swap out (understandable, the micro is pretty insane...), this is a good time to post for a permanent sub.

Mauxe March 24th, 2011 04:59 PM

Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

no problem with waiting at this point.

Finalgenesis March 26th, 2011 09:22 AM

Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

We will be looking for a perm sub for Agartha.

This turn will host as normal! From next turn on if a sub isn't found we'll pause it.

Thanks for playing SSJ, the game definitely dragged out far longer then anyone thought, and for me at least packs more action (and micro) then all my other games combined! I learned a lot fighting this long war with your anti-ryleh alliance, hope to see you in another game in the future.

Btw, can anyone confirm current turn host time:
Next turn due: 23:50 GMT on Sunday March 27th

I will be extending the turn until one is found. On the off chance that SSj manage to hand this turn in (no reply on this note) I'll let the turn host, so I guess we all need to assume that this turn is hosting normally (do it this weekend!) or risk staling, otherwise we put the game on hold until someone shows.

I did get an hour to work on a turn last night but it is pretty weak candidate. It would be best redone by Agartha's new blood. Good luck to you all. I enjoyed it all.

Note to self.. late game big maps are checks my body just can't cash.
-ssj

edit.. sent turn in

it was good playing with you SSJ, thanks for doing up a last turn, it'll work with the sub seeking schedule much better!

Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

I need a 24 hour extension myself and have done so.

Reminder: This turn is hosting as normal otherwise!

Finalgenesis April 1st, 2011 03:44 AM

Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

Currently seeking sub and have already extended 72 hrs, I will likely extend another 72 hrs if no sub is found, but after that it would be a really bad idea to extending any further lest the game fall apart (we will vote on what to do then), I'll also lurk a bit on irc and look.

Finalgenesis April 1st, 2011 05:59 AM

Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

Please welcome Kref who will be taking over Agartha, do update him as to your diplomatic status (Sansan will be back in a few days to update him also)

I'll add a slight extension (~ 24 hrs) to give Kref a full 72 hrs for his turn, otherwise it's game on as usual.

Underwater astral freaks eating me alive!
I suggest everyone to make an immediate intervention against starspawns, or we all are dead as good as mad!!! Just look at the graphs!

Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

If only that was the case *sigh*, we have received quite a bit of outside aid to fight on equal footing against you, and our non-existent tax doesn't help...

Our memories are long and our vengeance terrible. It was wise of most our enemy pretenders to reincarnate out of this realm to escape it.

Unfortunately our vengeance against Agartha must be complete as the source of our past torment, regardless of a new pretender.

No problem, I can relate @.@

Also hell week for me, I can certainly use this extension as well.

Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

Thanks. Was about to extend the deadline myself. Just got back from a trip that took a little longer than expected. A little disconcerting to note that I apparently staled the last turn. Could have sworn I sent that one in before leaving, but I must have forgotten.

Finalgenesis April 25th, 2011 10:56 AM

Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

Alright I'm going to need 24 hrs extension on this one, looks like some could use it too, extended.

Finalgenesis May 1st, 2011 02:15 PM

Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

Only 1 guy handed in turn so far with 2 hrs to go, I've taken the liberty to extend 24hrs... There won't be more unless an extension is asked for!

Finalgenesis May 8th, 2011 01:23 PM

Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

Well we have a repeat, 1 guy handed in turn only and almost hosting time.... so extended.

Should we just change to 96 hr hosting?

Otherling May 10th, 2011 04:42 PM

Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

96 hrs. might not be a bad idea. Though we may also want to discuss where this game is going. For a while now, we've had some trouble with everyone getting turns in. The game's gone on over a hundred turns, and shows no sign of ending soon. It may be that people are just tired of it.

So, the question is this: do people wish to continue the game, or should we just call it?

Finalgenesis May 10th, 2011 11:22 PM

Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

I'm worn out, but I can go on, and after having fought so hard for victory after a crazy comeback I'm inclined to follow through with it, I think I just about wringed all the end game experience with ryleh as I can. This game really taught me how to maximize ryleh's potential.

I did note that people are doing half turns (I can understand why... I'm not doing full turns myself):

Atlantis: Slow in retaking empty raided provinces (well... not so empty anymore after 1+ year of raiding), seems to be generally micro fatigued and not really doing much.

Ryleh: not fully scripting forge / rituals / army orders / logistics. Micro fatigued but hanging in there.

Patala: Overwhelmed by the nation, kinda attacked atlantis but went limp from over-micro fatigue. It looks like 2 boxers into round 10 and dead on their feet =P.

Man: Weary of the crazy micro should he declare a war (Pangaea don't count), thus ended up just kinda sitting and hanging, sorta like Patala except they went limp after declaring war (It's the same with me in another game, so I know).

Pangaea: Props for hanging on and sticking to it this far, but not much they can do at this point.

Agartha: Subbed in a critical moment just when the tide of war is shifting between them and ryleh, alas no time to adjust to nation tactics and did as well as they could, now the war that lasted 5+ years is all but settled. Also running out of steam like the rest of us, subbing into a pressure cooker situation didn't help.

So... assuming my assessment is close, we might as well call it, but if I'm wrong and any of you have hidden reservoirs of energy, let's play.

Btw Otherling, seems everyone but you and Pan has turns done, I'll force host once your turn is in.

Ossa May 11th, 2011 01:13 AM

Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

I'm willing to concede to Ryleth, though I wouldnt mind playing along a bit further, just to finish 2 projects I'm planning - it would take only 3-4 turns.

If you wish to close this game I'd happily slug it out against the ai.

Finalgenesis May 11th, 2011 02:17 AM

Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

okay just waiting for word from Patala, Agartha and Atlantis.

Oh in case the project affects us, remember to declare NAP cooldown with us ;-)

minko May 11th, 2011 09:47 AM

Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

Sorry for not turning in my turn, been a really busy couple of weeks now, but, as you have already stated, my role in the game is pretty insignificant and pretty much all i can do in my turns is capture a raided prov.

To be honest, i'd be glad to see this game end, but seeing as it's not really my game any more (and hasnt been for quite some time), i'm ok with it continuing.

If the game should end i agree on conceding it to ryleh.

Minko - Pangaea

Otherling May 12th, 2011 01:12 AM

Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

I'll be honest. I haven't really been enjoying this game for a while. I'm slowly pushing into Patala's territory, but the thought of how long it would take to conquer them completely...

I'd have no problem with ending the game and declaring anyone the winner, really.

Finalgenesis May 12th, 2011 03:07 AM

Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

Okay I think we can go on, only waiting to hear from Mauxe. For those who isn't enjoying it anymore, what you can do is ask for a sub while keep playing, once a sub is found you can swap out gracefully, I think its win win as it saves you time while someone else can get some enjoyment and late game experience out of it.

Mauxe May 14th, 2011 09:32 AM

Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

I'll keep it up for a bit.
I definitely don't have the involved turns I should with a nation of this size.. but I've never had a nation of this size and there is a @#$%^-load going on!
