That Cthugul sounds like something that comes from R'lyeh. If the game keeps tracks of the units by global unit numbers the rehosting business may be the reason to that bug.

...I sure hope your S5 mage isn't immortal, ouchie...

I have to report a bug:

When the 2nd(?) turn was hosted for the 2nd time a hero appeared in my capital - Li T'ieh-Kuai, Master with the iron crutch - so far, so good, lets rehost some more turns http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif

The problem is the next turn he went crazy - changed name to Cthugul, Master of the iron crutch, and changed his magic picks to W2 S5 H2. I'm not complaining, I like the new magic paths, but... it's a little bit strange.

It's more of the minor rehosting funkyness that seems to sometime happen. Give thanks that a good thing happened to you rather than a bad thing.

I found a pirate ship in my capitol this turn!

On a side note, none of the flags are showing up on my map, and my capitol doesn't have a fortress picture either. It's there, just no sprite for it. What should I do? Cause that could be real hard to tell who my neighbors are when we get these indies outta the way.

Oh, that's not what I meant, atul. I can see YOUR nation just fine! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/cool.gif and I'll be attacking it any minute now

He also spreads diseases so you might want to get him out of your capital.

The swapped magic paths bug seems to be common when there's a turn file mismatch, Frank got the same thing.

I'm not sure about that, he should also have some kind of affliction (crippled?) and... he doesn't http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

The afflictions - like the magic paths - are placed "on top of" the basic unit template, so it's no surprise that he'd get Cthugul's afflictions (none) as well as his magic paths.

I bet he still spreads diseases, though, since that's presumably intrinsic to his unit number.

Bizzare bug? report.

So, on the second turn, I foolishly expanded. In tests, my god had almost never run into problems versus middle independents.

Of course, I ran into 52 lizard warriors. The result, while not preordained, should be obvious.

However, on the rehost and through the stale turn...
I end up with a living god in the now-beaten province, but he shows up as having died once on the hall of fame.

What do we learn from this, kids? Do not rehost with *.2h files that are not created for your ftherlnd file, and backup previously AND after generating the turn. I backup as much as I can, always, anyway. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
