Not everyone knows, or reads, the progress page at http://ulm.illwinter.com/dom3/dom3progress.html . Lately, most people have just gone "wow, Ulm's going to get better, it's about time" without bothering to mention what eras are affected. Here's the list of changes that affect Ulm.

* MA Black Priests.
* Black Halberds.
* Iron Darts, Iron Blizzard.
* Iron Angel.
* Anathamant sprite.
* Black priest sprite.
* Ghoul Guardians no longer sacred, but got black halberds instead.
* Ulrich got sacredawe, lost sacred status, recieved makemonster (ghouls) and got a slight stat boost.
* Lord Guardian got sacredawe.
* Plate armors sligtly altered in the direction of Arralens thoughts. Plate of Ulm more so. Black plate inf descr slighy altered.

I gave EA Ulm a second look and I think I like the nation. Nice enough variety of troops, some stealth, the kind of magic I like. Antlered shamans offer decent research capabilities - nice price, holy, 6 RP, young, and randoms. Archers are also quite good.

Endo: Are you sure the Anathemant is for Ulm and not Abysia?

Anathemant should be Abysia.

Re: Semi-Official Drool Over the Next Patch Thread

EA Ulm was pretty fun for me in single player; lots of solid troops and good magic variety (Warrior Smiths get a wide variety of randoms), although the lack of any high paths is kind of a problem. (I also had fun with the White Bull sc...I've also seen it for Pan, anyone know if any other country can have it?)

It is sorta weird imo that all the EA Ulm units have high morale, while the MA ones have just average morale...(Most of the LA units have average morale, too, but after "the Malediction" that makes conceptual sense). Hopefully the Black priests will be able to cast Sermon of Courage, which will help some.

Anathemants are Abysian, there are some interesting changes to LA Abysia as well from the sound of it. Which is all to the good, it has been a bit weak in its current form.

Oh, certainly, I figured it was LA Abysia. My favorite Abysia, actually.

On another note, has anyone ever seen this event?

'One of your gardeners has been feeding the royal gardens with blood of animals and convicted criminals. Unaware of the dangers to himself, he entered the tainted garden and was killed buy [sic] the awakened vines. For a week no one dared enter the gardens, but then a strange wanderer of the woods arrived and said he would tame the garden should he be made royal gardener. Now, he and the dark vines serve you with the strength of the bloodied wild.'

Gives you a Bloodhenge Druid and a Dark Vines. As I am playing Bandar Log, this was most welcome. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

That is very cool. Both the description and the units.

I've always been disappointed that the Blood Druid provinces let you recruit normal Druids, not Blood Druids.
