Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
GT, just wanted you to know, the "Shiva Option" is out by Weber & White, but only in hardback, I love the story, but they want $27 for the hardback copy, I love to read but $27 is a little much, probably wait for the paperback to come out in several months.
Also, Kidding aside, Ohio is a nice state, you just have to overlook some of the oddities just like in any other city. Do have some beuuutifl sites, http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif also Kings Island, Cedar Point, among others. PS: I think all of us here would like to hear more about the "attack of the Porcupine" and just what you were doing to be mugged by one of nature's innocent wonders (LOL) http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/shock.gif just some ideas mac [ 12 February 2002: Message edited by: mac5732 ]
|
Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
Yeah, cheers for this Mac, I saw the hardback copy (at $27 a pop) in a WH SMith at Hartsfield, Atlanta Last Thursday/Friday- I really was churned about whether to buy it or not as (a) I feel one should support specialist producers such as Baen (b) I only had $35 in cash left (I didnt know I would be bouncing back to Boston in 4 hours of landing home) and (c) the 1.75 litre bottle of Jack Daniels Reserve was $33 and I couldn't afford both and (d) Mrs GT wanted the cash to spend on some clinique make-up - my remark that polyfilla or anything other industrial grouter would work just as well left me limping for the next 6 hours
I am only kidding about Ohio - I have never really been there other than Cleveland - that does tarnish one's perception you know |
Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
Besides re-living the "Attack or Mugging of the Porcupine", how about a little more on the "Implant Adventure" Heh, Heh, I know, I know,
"Mac, Your a Dirty Old Man" I think we deserve the full details on both episodes http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif PS. Yeh I know about Cleveland, I live in one of the Suburbs.... just some ideas mac |

Yeh I know about Cleveland, I live in one of the Suburbs....just some ideas mac

OK Mac The Porcupine Episode This happended Last Wednesday in Canyon de Chelly. We were in an old US army truck (I believe you call then deuce and a halfs) on a tour in canyon de la muerto (the north canyon). Weather was bright but cold, in fact the ice on the canyon bottom was quite large. We got the deuce stuck on a 2 foot thick block of ice whilst fording the river. There are 10 of us in the truck but the navajo driver only has 1 shovel and most of the rest of the possee dont want to help free the truck. I have this idea to get a couple of large sticks to help break up the ice. Me and a guy from Utah go to get a couple of sticks - I fall over whilst doing so and land on what I thought was a black green scubby plant but is actually a porcupine. Bloody quills get stuck in my left arm, hand and shoulder. Bloody painful to get them out I can tell you and has ruined a perfectly good fleece. Anyway, guy from Utah is a doctor so happy ending. The implant incident Dont ask me why this happended, ask Alpha Kodiak, Phoenix D, Wardad or any other of the Arizonans. I was sitting in Cooperstown with Mrs GT drinking when this nice young filly comes up, obviously a bit drunk and asks me if I know 'Mike' - She thinks I am someone elses' brother and when I explain I am a red blooded Englishman and far more sophisticated than the locals, she simply pulls up her top and asks me what I think of her breasts. I said they were great. Mrs GT only got upset when I asked young girl if I could touch them as I was curious, purely out of scientific interest only, what they felt like. Guys, does this happen in Phoenix regularily?? |
Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
Uhh, my best guess is that she got drunk and got sent over on a dare- not to you specifically but to whoever "Mike" was, and missed the target http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

"local talent is sufficiently stressed that they would flash their assets at good looking strangers!"
Therein lies the problem. Phoenix-D |
