Yep, and as I mentioned, I've redone my turn. It's mostly the same as before, for what that's worth, tho' my spell scripts are not exactly the same.

im just going to do the suicide attack I did Last time. i don't feel like dragging it on. I was thinking of teleporting to your home province with all those banes...

On a side note, someone with the username "Callistas" has been posting in the QT3 Boards on the subject of WoW. If it's the same person, that would explain where's he's gone.

Here's an example: QT3

If you had done that, what would have happen if you hit thie dome I had there? Death, or just failure to move.

So, are people losing interest in this game? New turn up, and less than 24 hours to host...

Zooko December 31st, 2004 11:04 AM

Re: Server (-\\rgitot/-) *Running*

I've been pretty distracted by other things.

Also I think my position in this game is quite tenuous -- you guys are way more experience than me, and I've survived thus far only by diplomacy.

But what the heck, I'm still in. I haven't missed a turn yet.

Reverend Zombie December 31st, 2004 11:42 AM

Re: Server (-\\rgitot/-) *Running*

The holidays have been hectic, but I have not missed a turn (yet), either.

I plan to submit the current turn before the deadline, but then I'll be out of town for the weekend. After this weekend, things should calm down in terms of real-life time commitments.

What is our current hosting cycle time? I would propose we switch to 48 hours-QH if we are not there already. Turns are fairly time-consuming at this stage of the game.

deccan December 31st, 2004 08:07 PM

Re: Server (-\\rgitot/-) *Running*

Hmm, I logged in to upload my turn before the 24 deadline, but it looks like Argitoth extended it to 48 hours. Also, it looks to me like Callistas isn't playing the game at all now. If so, Argitoth could you set him to AI? It would be better than if he did nothing at all against my attacks every turn and he still has significant forces and gem income. An AI could conceivably use them to hurt me a bit.

argh. i hate running a server im dead in. :\

Marignon, I want you to check your turn to make sure everything is correct. I might have done something. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/redface.gif

Re: Server (-\\rgitot/-) *Running*

Yep, it all looks correct. I guess you didn't do anything. :-)

Thanks for setting Man AI Argitoth. I got hit by multiple Call of the Winds this turn and got attacked by a biggish man army. Heh.

Host time?

Apparently the game is hosting every 21 hours. That time period is a little odd. Can we make it 24, at least, please?

Argitoth January 5th, 2005 01:23 AM

Re: Host time?

hmm.... oh. yeah... i thought we would do it 48. you want it 24 now?

deccan January 5th, 2005 10:26 AM

Re: Host time?

I think everyone wants it on 48 hours, 24 hours only if you really must...

Zooko January 5th, 2005 10:54 AM

Re: Host time?

I'm happy either way.

Reverend Zombie January 5th, 2005 11:33 AM

Re: Host time?

Yes, 48 preferred, but 24 is better than 21...

Argitoth January 6th, 2005 02:06 AM

Re: Host time?

Deccan, take your stinken turn! I turned the timer off for you. Next time you will only have 48 hours.

deccan January 6th, 2005 06:00 AM

Re: Host time?

Damn, sorry about that. I'm just swamped at work right now and I thought TC and Marignon would take the full 48 hours to do their turn, and so I would have another 48 hours on top of that. I'll get it in in maybe 4 hours or so.

deccan January 6th, 2005 07:43 AM

Re: Host time?

Ok, new turn up now. Hopefully I will have 48 hours to upload, since I only plan to upload the next turn about 24 hours from now.

Argitoth January 8th, 2005 11:00 PM

Re: Host time?

sorry for my delay. im computer controlled now.

deccan January 12th, 2005 08:07 AM

Re: Host time?

New turn up. I'd like to inform everyone that I'm going on holiday on the 20th January. Since we are currently on 48 hours turns, this means that even though I'd like to try to continue playing even while on holiday, I realize that this means that I'd still stale intermittently, depending on my travel schedule, and with Argitoth eliminated from the game, it's too much to ask for the host to babysit the server constantly.

Therefore, I would like to Argitoth if he would be interested in taking over my position. Hey, I'm a freaking hyperpower here, you know you want to. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Argitoth January 12th, 2005 09:43 PM

Re: Host time?

NEVERRRAAA!!!!!!!!! i do not want to take over your position. I suggest you propose another solution.

And just some info: Even if the server's timer seems to reset, I'm keeping track of how much time has already gone by. SO TAKE YOUR TURNS!

deccan January 18th, 2005 07:29 AM

Re: Host time?

TC, that's twice now that my water queens got ghost ridered. I highly doubt that Marignon was responsible as I am running riot over his lands with Call of the Winds and Call of the Wilds and he has not ghost ridered me once in response.

Unless you want to try to deny that it was you, I'm going to take hostile action next turn.

deccan January 18th, 2005 10:04 AM

Re: Host time?

I would like to request a move to 72 hours. TC, I forgot to mention that Flames from the Sky. I kind of doubt that Marignon was behind that as well.

I am leaving on Thursday afternoon. Hopefully, at 72 hours, I should be able to play without staling.

Zooko January 18th, 2005 10:32 AM

Thanks for agreeing to the schedule change, guys. And Zooko, next time you play an MP game, you should learn to castle your provinces more.

Good point. Thanks for the suggestion.

But of course, I *am* winning. You just can't tell yet!

Hmm, I can't connect to the server. I can get to the nation select screen and see that everyone has not played, but when I enter my password, I get a nagot gick fel after waiting for a long time. I assume that you two are having problems as well?

deccan January 19th, 2005 09:04 AM

Re: Host time?

Ok, finally managed to connect.

Edit: Ok, played the latest turn. This will be my Last turn for a couple of days, so enjoy your respite from evil Ermor!

Um, you guys can surrender you know. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif

I have every unique in the game I think, bar the Demon Lords that I have no interest in getting. TC has seen a lot of my good stuff, but he hasn't seen my reserve forces consisting of several hundred vampires with accompanying Vampire Lords and Wraith Lords. Considering the massive gem buildup that I have, there is zero chance that any of you can knock out one of my globals, so I don't see how I can lose at this point.

The game is still interesting to me as a sandbox for testing late game spells and summons I do not often see.

I suppose if you kill my Pretender and occupy my capital, though, I would concede. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

deccan February 10th, 2005 12:56 AM

Re: Host time?

Yeah, I delayed attacking that army of yours with your pretender because you killed my only astral mage there (the Coatl) with an Ashen Angel attack, so I decided to delay one turn to teleport in some more astral support.

But it looks to me like Argitoth has taken the server down because I can't connect to it.

Argitoth February 10th, 2005 04:06 AM

Re: Host time?

there's something called e-mail...

I just realized my LAN IP changed. you can connect now.

Argitoth February 11th, 2005 09:37 PM

Re: Host time?

Can one of you just take over the server? I'm getting tired of it.

deccan February 12th, 2005 08:59 AM

Re: Host time?

Oops, stale turn. I think you should probably take the game down Argitoth. I'm not very interested in playing it any more either, and since I will have to return to the Solomon Islands in a week, I have lots of personal stuff to take care of

Unless someone wants to play a late game superpower...
