At 7:19 I still could not connect to the server, I just checked at 12:09 and the turn had hosted and I had staled. If there was ment to be 9 hours hosting time would that not mean I shoud have had untill at least 2:19 correct?

YellowCactus June 27th, 2005 10:58 AM

Re: Holiday season

You are correct RibbonBlue. For your troubles, Mictlan hearby breaks all alliances with Ermor.

Re: Holiday season

No, my point is, since I forgot to put a password, some one is fooling with my turns, as this is not the only time this has happened. Just a question, if I give my orders, then some one else comes and overwrites my orders, but does not give any orders, would it say I have staled next time I play? Cause if so, then some one has defintly been messing up my turns alot.

Huzurdaddi June 27th, 2005 12:59 PM

Re: Holiday season

Ribbon Blue,

If they followed the steps you are talking about I think you would not stale. You would simply do nothing at all that turn. As a matter of fact I do not know how I would get the staled message.

Boron,

what is up with that starspawn Utu? It looks lik he is soloing armies on his own! Amazing. How the heck is he doing that? Amazing.

YellowCactus June 27th, 2005 01:03 PM

Re: Holiday season

OH,
Now that is a problem. Normally I wouldn't believe our little community of Dominions players would intentionally do something like that. However, since the 'Norfleet' incident, we have to accept that some people will break the game for whatever reason. Hopefully whoever's messing with your turns is a new player and didn't understand the damage. That's bad. Bad bad bad. You should probably go ahead and attack Vanheim with all you've got. No since holding back!

Re: Holiday season

Yeah I put very secure passwords on my pretenders these days.

However Ribbonblue I dont think there is anyway to delete a turn of orders to generate a stale.

Although it was mentioned that there were 7 hours, not 9 until the turn hosting, so perhaps that is what screwed you up.

It's very likely Boron is using assassins to take indi provinces. All the troops run away when there are no leaders left.

Maybe but check the number of kills that Utu has! Amazing. I am wracking my brain here. Maybe he has sufficient research to make a starspawn with the correct paths into a true SC? But it's pretty early. It's pretty cool.

Utu doesn't have _that_ many kills. Lots of rabble to kill with indy 9 settings, and Boron has probably taken a lot of provinces by now. Utu may just be slinging spells from the back.

Yeah i think so or it is my void gate starspawn who got just xp for paticipating fights vs. otherworldly beings.

Doh I did not mean it at all like that. I just hoped that after the game Boron would tell how he equipped that dude. It was/is really impressive!

Maybe. But he also does not have that much XP. So I figured that the starspawn was newly equipped with some stuff that was raising hell or he has exactly the correct paths to sling some spell that could do some serious damage.

Re: Holiday season

I mentioned yesterday that the server would be down for an hour. It was back up an hour and 15 minutes later. The clock was set for the time remaining when the game server was taken down.

As far as I know, once someone has logged in for a turn, even if orders were not give the turn is marked as played by that nation. No turn has been forced by the server as of now.

There have been no other reports of "strange" behavior by the server...(such as not be able to log in for more thasn a few minutes, or orders not being carried out. If anyone else has been experiencing difficulties, please, post a message about them. Stalled turns are being watched for any patterns (the server notes them). One nation accounts for 95% of them (for the sake of the game that nation shall be nameless). The remaining nations have only had a few. As a result they have been considered "intentional". Again, any server problems should be posted.

Let's go kill real Saddam! Let's war Machaka and Mictlan together!!

Thanks.

It's actually fairly commonly done, giving your assets to a nation that stands a fair chance of going against the one that took you out. A few people think it's cheesy, but it's a historically common thing as well.

Don't be pathetic. I fight against not 2, but 4 people! And three of us attack me suddenly without any warnings. So, your words about "democracy" and "Saddam" sound strange.
It seems you can fight only when have a lot of allies.

I'm sorry, but i have better opinion about american DOM players. Now i see that they preffer unfair game with saying that their game is fair, but they opponent not.

DragonFire11 July 3rd, 2005 02:09 PM

Re: Holiday season

Ummm, pretty serious tone there for a game amigo. The strange sound of my words is attributable to the art of lighthearted joking. I assumed people playing a war *game* would not be offended by the act of war within the game, or even some related jocular comments. So if you view wishing you happy holidays, and giving you credit for playing the game well as 'pathetic' and a poor example of Americans, then perhpas you are the one with the problem.

Re: Holiday season

The pretender of Tien Chi, the false god Yuck Fou has been slain by the brave and noble Jotun Giants. The killing blows were administered, fittingly, with a weapon of Abysian manufacture, a Kryss Knife which had been removed from the stinking corpse of an Abysian slayer mere hours before the perfidious Tien Chi army attacked.

Yuck Fou's death on the battlefield is proof that he is not a true god, but rather a charlatan dressed in a papier-mache dragon costume. His corpse shall be burned forthwith, save the head, hands, and feet. The head will be mailed back to the high mandarins of the corrupt empire of Tien Chi, and the severed extremities sent to the four corners of the land to demonstrate their desperate weakness.

Death to the enemies of Jotun! All hail Soapyfrog, defender of the true faith and champion of all free peoples!! Huzzah!
