Re: Storm

I casted Dispel with 262 astral gems and a level 8 astral mage and it still failed to get rid of Arcane Nexus.

At this point I'm willing to concede to Marignon, but I'll keep playing (and throwing things at him) until the majority of people also concede.

I'm with Velusion; I'm not really having a good time at this point, but I'm willing to keep on so that my nation doesn't go AI and screw everyone up.

FYI, T'ien Ch'i has gone AI this turn. My big victories this turn involved managing to make two arch angels and the king of banefires route...oh joy, that's what my heavy losses bought me.

What the freaking [censored]... I have taken over for Midgard because Folket is busy and asked me if I could continue playing for him and now I'm getting a CD Key violation and my orders neither for Mictlan nor for Midgard have been executed. Sucks. What am I supposed to do about that? Get some illegal CD Keys to sub for Folket and do his turns with those keys? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/mad.gif

Ouch! I knew there was a problem with that but I didn't think it killed BOTH orders.

I documented the issue here:
http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/thr...amp;Forum=f187,f194,f195&Words=cd-key&Searchpage=0&Limit=25&Main=501892& amp;Search=true&where=bodysub&Name=&da terange=1&newerval=5&newertype=y&older val=&oldertype=&bodyprev=#Post501892

It sucks. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

But FYI, it really isn't kosher to take over another's spot while you are still in the game. It isn't a big deal here because we all pretty much agree Calmon is going to be the winner, but technically, it could have been.

I am really sorry for the delays of the last few days; my internet service, which is sketchy at best, completely cut out for a full three days. It just started working enough for me to post about how much Comcast sucks and run a set of turns, but I would suggest finding a substitute to take over my position, as I don't know how long this respite will last. Again, my sincere apologies for the inconvenience.

Re: Random Nations , Late Era (Players Wanted)

I killed a few more lower level SCs! yippie! I can't storm forts worth a damn but my masses seem oddly effective against his SCs (not that Calmon is trying too hard).

However, It looks like Mictlan will be completely gone in 4 turns, and down to only sieged fortresses in 2.... C'Tis is a turn or two away from elimination... Utgard got domain killed... Tien will be obliterated next turn...

Still feel like getting beat up Ich? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Well, I'm placing myself on AI here next turn. I believe it was only Ich who still wanted to keep going and it looks like he will be gone in about one or two turns.

Unless someone objects I'm officially awarding Calmon the win.

The game will stay up and people can continue to play for as long as they wish! If I see a turn where everyone stales it comes down.

Calmon will win anyway by spamming his Tartarians, Angels and Wraith riders, but wouldn't I have taken the detour to Construction 8 then I'd be able to defend myself better. I still hope to take out his SCs when I'm ready, though... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smirk.gif

I'll fight this to the end if Ich wishes. You shouldn't go for construction 8. I think all unique items are in game http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif.

I'd appreciate that aswell, since there are at least three birthday parties I'll have to attend to, including mine.

To stop people from setting their nations to AI even though this game is about finished, how about offering the nations to newbies so that they can have some crazy wicked battles instead?

I'll play my turn later today, I'm in the office ATM.

Someone attempted to upload his turn with a 3.08 client.

DO NOT take your turn on this server with the new patch. You MUST use the old 3.06 patch.

I will manually force the host tomorrow night and upgrade the server to 3.08 then.

I had 2 very strange changes of 2 of my commanders this turn. One of my seraphs are now a tartarian and one former tartarian was transformed to a mummy.

I did my turn with 3.06 and i'm not sure this is a problem with the 3.08 upgrade. Maybe it has something to do with the backup? Both commanders was new casted one turn before this one and both are teleported in battle. I'm not sure wheter there are other transformations.

However because its fun to see, i attached my MummyTartarian and my TartarianSeraph. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Re: Random Nations , Late Era (Players Wanted)

Bah, I should have learned about submitting turns at the very last minute. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/Sick.gif I gave orders to break siege, had set every blood mage to spam Hellbind Heart, every Turkey in the fort and those that I could fly in from the other forts spam Control, with plenty of blood/astral gems for all of them, and positioned my units so that they cover the whole battle area, with the mages taking the back seat. Unfortunately, that took far too much time and I uploaded my turn about one minute too late or something. Blood 9 (Claws of Cocythus, Infernal Prison) is only a turn away for Mictlan, but that's too late, unfortunately. Midgard already has Blood 9 since quite some time, but since the ending is clear I don't want to waste time on the micromanagement any more now. I concede defeat. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/Injured.gif

Velusion, I'd be interested in the backup from last turn. I'd like to know if the orders that I prepared would have changed anything in that cataclysmic battle. Depends entirely on if and how many of his units I'd have managed to take away, with 20 mages spamming Control and Hellbind Heart.

Congratulations, calmon, and you really have to tell me how you could get those three forts up so early in the game and how many astral pearls you put into the Arcane Nexus.

Thanks http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Ich, i were surprised that i took out your castle that easily. Sure a better setup would had helped you. On the other site my last 5 turns was without much micromanagement. With some more competitive play you would get several earth elemental attacks before i storm the castle (my earth income is somewhat around 400 gems/turn).

I would be happy if we can end this one regulary without using a backup. It should be over in the upcoming turn or the turn after that latest.

Arcane Nexus was casted with 452 astral gems. So 302 additional gems + 5 for 1 additional level. While i got ~200 astral gems from the nexus in the first turns i only got ~100-150/Turn in the last 5 turns.

I build 2 forts on farmlands early. But due the long building time (5 turns) it wasn't that early (turn 11 or 12?). I also started a forest fort and found a crystal citadel. I saved some money for doing that and used primary my awe/fear cyclop for early expanding.

As I said, I didn't get to upload my turn in time. None of the units or commanders were scripted, most of the units were not even assigned to a commander. That's why I'd want to see what the "real" battle would have looked like, when I would maybe have snatched away some of those iron dragons from you, especially after buffing from yourself.

I don't want to reset the game, I just want to process the turn myself to see what the battle would have looked like. I think I'm the only one who is still playing except you, maybe Jomon still plays, too. But the others seem either finished, AI, or stalling.

Hah, that means we would have theoretically been able to dispell it, but didn't expect it to have that many additional gems.

Well, it was still surprising that you got three forts up so early, each one a turn after the next. I was hit by a plague in my capital on turn 2 (and another one some turns later, I had less pop in my capital then than in some of the other provinces) so I had money problems all the time. If you found one of the forts by a site, could use your pretender for expansion and put all the money into early forts then that explains it a little, yeah.

Fools huh? says the person who refused to join our grand alliance against marignon.

speaking like a true opportunist as you are, my little friend. bear in mind Man and Abysia were long in trouble with Marignon before the petty kingdom of Atlantis was even involved. The truth is, I knew the dominion kill was unavoidable, which was why I sent out my army after you in the last few turns, a rather desperate move I admit, regrettably with the nexus I couldn't create enough water-breathing items, otherwise would have Atlantis utterly destroyed.

Considering I've been quite cruelly manipulating your actions since the beginning (remember the caelum attack and sending you into the sea while I was busy fighting Caelum myself?). you merely got lucky hiding in the sea.

Congrats to Calmon though, honorable player indeed. gg.

Much good the alliance did you.

Not really sure what you are talking about there, "sending you into the sea"? Things went bad for Atlantis the moment R'lyeh was spotted right next to us, the early fighting stopped our expansion for a long time and made it easy for Abysia to move in soon after.
