Re: Horror of horrors

I'm sorry to hang up the game but I got some computer problem.
I even hesitate to turn myself to AI but I just don't like to do it that way. But may be I'll do it.
May be Niefelheim should haste their march on Yomi's land ?

BTW I never really played any major role in this realm and I'm surprised to be alive at turn 60+.

Well, Kailasa is out of the game until Monday anyway, and Gandalf set the game to no timer.

Nobody wants to kill you because we won't see any more tablets!

Hey everyone I'm back. Turn is done. Sorry for the hold up.

Do I need to PM Gandalf to set timer again?

Re: Horror of horrors

Welcome back Bandar!

C'tis has 250 air gems that it would like to trade for Death, Earth, or Astral Gems.

Any trades of 100+ gems needs to have a 10 turn minimum NAP attached to it. I don't want someone turning around and using the gems against me http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif

There is a festivious mood in all of Abysia. Soon the lands of our fathers will be returned to our children. Far too long have our lands been occupied by the lizards, lords of death.

LoloMo June 4th, 2007 09:36 AM

Re: Horror of horrors

Hmm, is that a declaration of termination of NAP with C'tis?

LoloMo June 4th, 2007 09:50 AM

Termination of NAP received on turn 63. By the terms of the NAP, hostile orders will be sent on turn 66, and conflict will be seen on turn 67. We shall crush the Abysian embers beneath our claws.

Yomi\'s daily news

We are sad to inform the world of unlucky that the awful giants defeated the main forces of Yomi.
Yomi should fall in a few months.

To celebrate this, we held a great ceremony where everyone is invited.
Here is the adress : Life'sa Beach (16)

Last thing : we hereby cancel our NAP with C'tis.

LoloMo June 4th, 2007 11:11 AM

Re: Yomi\'s daily news

Everyone suddenly wants a piece of the lizards hahaha.

But interestingly, a little bird told me that Mictlan is evil and is stirring up trouble. And an invitation has been sent for Abysia and C'tis to test their combined might against Mictlan. Apparrently, it is believed that either nation alone is not strong enough to stand against Mictlan Jaguars. Do I hear agreement? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif

jimkehn June 4th, 2007 01:37 PM

Re: Yomi\'s daily news

Yes....Mictlan has succeeded in profaning the names of the gods of both C'Tis AND Abysia. Mictlan shall pay for his foul blood letting.
As for Jaguar warriors???

Bah!!!!

I hear they have to sit down to pee.

8^)

vfb June 4th, 2007 07:52 PM

Re: Yomi\'s daily news

Mictlan regrets that we will be unable to attend the Yomi beach party, since someone has stirred up Abysia and CTis against us.

CTis and Aby: we believe we may indeed have some jaguar warriors lazing about somewhere. We will try to try to round them up in time for Fall. Is it agreed that when the leaf reads 'Fall in year 6', orders may be given to commence hostilities?

Be warned that if so much as a toad jumps a wee bit higher than usual, or the spark from a bonfire falls a wee bit more forcefully to the ground, or a Mictlan priest gets the sniffles, we will ignore any waiting period in the NAPs and begin forward defensive manoeuvers immediately.

Kardash has ascended

Rejoice! Master Kardash has ascended!

Or at least this is the future that our prophet assures us will be.

All the insignificant nations of the world scramble to find something to do rather than step up to the one true threat. They hide their heads in the sand while T'ien Ch'i grows stronger and stronger month by month. Already they have amassed more power than any one nation can counter. Soon they will have absorbed the ancient R'lyeh empire (along with their vast accumulated wealth) and turn their sights on to new prey. The procrastinators of the world can hope (and will likely get their wish) that T'ien Ch'i will turn next to the Giants. However, this is merely a delay of the inevitable. While all the fleas engage in meaningless tit for tat, T'ien Ch'i is acquiring true power.

Come and get us great God. Leave all of your borders undefended, bring everything you have. No one dares to lift a finger to stop you - save us.

jutetrea June 5th, 2007 12:00 AM

Re: Kardash has ascended

Is that a declaration of hostilities?

It seems we cannot find a formal NAP within our archives, does this now mean that the recently victorious nation of Niefenheim is declaring war upon our scholars?

Saint_Dude June 5th, 2007 01:08 AM

Re: Kardash has ascended

Sure, why not. Although it is more like a declaration of suicide. We would rather die now in honorable battle (even if such a battle will involve about 20% of our force vs. 90% or yours) than to stick our heads in the sand and wait for the arrival of the juggernaut.

All hail Kardash, master of politics.

jutetrea June 5th, 2007 02:11 AM

Re: Kardash has ascended

We had a scout uniquely positioned within viewing distance of your last major combat with Yomi. Very impressive, and very scary. Fun battle to watch. I'm confused about the reference to 90% of my troops, Ry'lehs AI forces were surprisingly/unsurprisingly very annoying so I'm left with 1 army anywhere near your lands. And they're still busy.

Should be interesting, the giants are formidable. We accept your challenge and shall strive to live up to your expectations. (Don't believe the Hype!)

Yomi\'s daily news

Yomi is only one province left and one fortress which will fall on the next turn http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/Injured.gif

The demons bow before their giant new masters.
All hail to BOB the unlucky god !

For me that was a fun but hard game... I had no luck with starting independants and played very bad. I deserve this defeat.
I really wonder who will win that game... Be sure I will check this thread on a regular basis.

Good luck guys http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif

Re: Yomi\'s daily news

Jaguars of Mictlan,

It is now late summer, so I assume next turn will be early fall, followed by fall, then late fall?

So we order the attacks on fall, they arrive on late fall?

vfb June 6th, 2007 08:25 AM

Re: Yomi\'s daily news

Yes, order the attacks in Fall. Or defensive manoeuvers or whatever you are calling them.

You will see the results in the 'Late Fall' round. But actually I think of those results as occurring in Fall, after you have given your orders and pressed 'Submit Turn'. You just don't get to see what happened until 'Late Fall'.

By the way sorry I haven't managed to find time to do this turn yet.

Super SC

After viewing a few members of T'ien Ch'i's Tartarian horde, I am thinking that the term SC hardly does justice to one in particular. There should be a term for a Super SC that can not only single handedly take out armies, but that can also take out armies of other SCs (and is highly resistant to normal anti-SC tactics).

jutetrea June 7th, 2007 05:21 PM

Yeah, that's the one I want to see in action... Might actually try to re-create him in SP to see how he does. He didn't really get tested vs. ry'leh so i'm curious.

I wouldn't bet much money on solo success though, I have a terrible tendency of overestimating just a bit and watching my investment get flushed down the drain.

I think he's still vulnerable to quite a few anti-SC measures, but the high hp makes many of them tough. 21 MR isn't that fantastic.

You killed my baby!

The irony just kills me, my 17MR cruddy SC survives fine. My experiment in destruction that I REALLY wanted to see in action gets poofed. With 21 MR no less. Talk about frustrating.

Re: Super SC

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

So I sent in my hordes. 71 units of mine were sent, 62 of them killed. Mictlan had 65 or so with -11 killed!!!! He ended the battle with more than he started with!!!!

Wait til next month!!

I couldn't figure out if you were burning off some chaff, or if it was a probe attempt, or a mis-clicked order. Maybe all of the above? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I thought you sent a horror at me too, until I realized it was just a Soul Contract dude.

The loss of negative 11 units was a pretty weird stat. I still can't understand out where that came from. I didn't capture any of your units. Hopefully this month I will lose even more negative units! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif

Re: Super SC

I think it was the undead you spawned. Gave you more than you started out with.

Oh yeah......it was a serious attack intended to capture the proivince, but I don't think my pre-attack intel was very good. Damn-ned Itelligence Agency.

A Horror????!!!!

Surely you don't think I am THAT powerful!!!!!

Saint_Dude June 8th, 2007 12:11 PM

Re: Super SC

This month the Giants held a grand festival to celebrate the destruction of the demon scourge of the Unlucky east. While we are no means a nation of dainty scholars with delicate sensitivities, we were shocked to find the last of the demons hunkered down in their capital worshiping (drinking from?) a giant pool of bubbling blood. eww

As part of the of festivities, a parade was held to honor the contributions of great hag Angerboda, who played an essential role in pacifying the demons, and who recently slew the Tartarian demigod invading our home land. If only it were the only one.

It was only a little horror. We're sure you've got something creepy to summon one of those!

So we will not be fooled by your attempts to trick us into believing you are less powerful than you are. Even now the shadows of your fiends cast vast shadows across our border lands!

ooc The (-11) units killed were normal, not undead, according to the stats. Maybe it was blood slaves that turned from gems into units?

Turns out that the 1 army that was mentioned was well over 90% of T'ien Ch'i's force. There are now about 800 politicians aggregated around our capital preparing for a siege. We would be very surprised if there is another warrior to be found anywhere else in T'ien Ch'i's vast empire. All their borders are surely undefended as is their capital. Yet the Ostriches of the unlucky world stick their head in the sand and hope the threat will just evaporate.

Even outnumbered 10 to 1, the Giants have some surprises in store for the invading paper pushers. But the ostriches shouldn't get their hopes up too high. In all probability, we will be swept under, and there will be no defense left.

jutetrea June 11th, 2007 02:14 AM

Re: Kardash has ascended

You keed, you keed! I see!

The jolly blue giants seem to be lovers of the tall tale, as are we all. Giant Tale? hmm.

Anyway, there must be some misunderstanding. Our "peace-keeping" force just got misled, we took a wrong turn at Albuquerque and are looking for our way. Luckily re-enforcements arrived before we were mistaken for brigands. Unlike the UN, we will try to "keep the peace" very enthusiastically. No harshly worded letters, oh no. Once we find those those litterers we'll give them a hiding they won't soon forget.

Last we looked the west was doing just fine in keeping things tidy. Even now they have their own forces enthusiastically keeping the peace. Although no litter was seen, or outpost will keep a sharp eye out.

In terms of troop strength, I think your scouts have been swilling a bit of mead. Our keepers are starting to get nervous as we can easily see over 300+ troops surrounding their location. Icky undead, smelly shifters, formidable giants, and a big stone - that talks! WTF!

Luckily, there must have been some mistake - we left the bureaucrats home this time.
