I won't be able to complete my turn on time so I'm delaying hosting by 6 hours.

Atlanitis thought because Arco is at the bottom of the graphs we have no teeth. Perhaps 300 casualities will teach them a lesson. Or do they need thier armies to be routed a few more times?

Kristoffer O September 9th, 2007 06:38 PM

Re: Hosting change

Casualties in the hundreds are regular losses, at least where the Lawgiver reigns. It has been so since the days Mictlan was ruled by GrayZ. Dwarves, Vanir or Seraphs, they are all fooled by the belief that widespread slaughter of the enemy forces will win you the war. Perhaps you share their misconception.

All hail the Lawgiver!

Re: Hosting change

Hi, would it be possible to postpone the hosting, say 12 h?

Meglobob September 11th, 2007 06:24 PM

Re: Hosting change

I am sure Valerius will do that for you Kristoffer. You might want to PM him, just to make sure.

Should we switch to 72hr hosting, to give everyone (the remaining 5) time to do quality turns? Or should we stick to 48hr?

Its been a very enjoyable game, no need to spoil it by people stalling or rushing turns.

Valerius September 11th, 2007 08:09 PM

Re: Hosting change

Hi everyone.

I have postponed hosting by 12 hours. New hosting time is 18:55 GMT Wed.

I also wouldn't mind switching to 72 hour hosting if there are no objections.

I concur.

Re: Hosting change

Sounds ok with me.

I've had less time to spend on turns lately, so I feel a bit rushed generally.

BTW, next week I will be away monday to thursday. I intend to get JK or perhaps JO to sub for me. It shouldn't be a problem. They are both somewhat aware of my current game situation.

BTW, gratz Meglobob to a rahter unpleasant surprise. It was sloppy of me not to have a castle finished there, nor scripted mages http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif. They were once, when Eriu was still around.

Also a message from the Lawgiver, still juggling with his talking head:

"ehhh,m pfff, hhssss. -- Nehmhh, I ssssay. *clacks with jaw and tosses head against the wall* Hss Hss Hss."

:still feeble minded from a bongrinding experiment. Most annoying effect ever http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif. Turned out that is was not working as it should. So I suppose it was put to good use regardless of how I liked the results.

I have known about your gargoyle factory for sometime, but it only occured to me last turn I could take it out. Btw is Forest Dome working as intended? It did not stop a single one of my mages cloud trapezing in, either I have the luck of the gods or theres a problem.

Yes, it should only give crippled affliction, not feeblemind affliction. Still I am not complaining... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Lord Flashheart beloved of the Seraph has come to his current sad state after single handedly fighting a troll horde, lead by a troll king. After slaughtering the trolls with ease, the Troll King stepped up and smashed Lord Flashheart with one of the greatest blows ever seen. Dazed and confused Lord Flasheart ripped the Troll King into many pieces but ever since that day, his actions have been somewhat erratic and he has a tendenancy to dribble....

The Seraph vow that one day Lord Flasheart will be whole again...no matter how long it takes. Even now we seek the Spenta of the Healing Waters.

Oh yea btw, Hidden In Snow is a great spell when it only costs you 39W gems... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Re: Hosting change

> Hidden In Snow is a great spell when it only costs you 39W gems...

And with a 3,3,2 and another 2,2 mage in the first casting http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

> Yes, it should only give crippled affliction, not feeblemind affliction. Still I am not complaining.

The feeblemind was only a side effect of 3 an dmg. It should give the entire army limp or cripple depending on MR. I rather fight limp and crippled mammoths than mammoths with 1 p dmg. I think the spell is fixed now, but unfortunately penetration bonus doesn't work on secondary spell effects (IIRC). Also it is mundane dmg, so fog warriors doesn't get removed by it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

> Btw is Forest Dome working as intended?

Yep, I blocked one of my own cloud trapezes and had a laugh a couple of turns back. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Also Frost dome works as intended. My mages casting raging hearts had flame skulls giving them fire susceptibility regardless of their frost rings. It took me a while to understand what happened. I actually looked in the code to see if frost domes were not cold dmg.

I'll be leaving on a small holliday tomorrow, I'll be back at the end of the month. Hadrian_II kindly agreed to sub for me during this time. Any diplomacy and/or trade should be directed to him during this time. I'll ask him to PM his e-mail adress to Valerius so the turns can be send to him.

Re: Hosting change

The Lawgiver is silent due to a missing head, or at least a missing brain. Several months ago his head was split open during a ritual of his own. The great spell was supposed to break every bone within a mile, but the ancient spell was a spell-trap. The Lawgivers head cracked and his dried fig-like brain fell out and was lost. He now juggles with his skull and hisses incomprehensibly at his chosen. He has been this way for more than six months, and still no brain has been found.

The Cedar Pillars and their circle of mages and unfrozen have been claimed by high seraphs and sorceresses. According to the stone spheres, things are once again growing in the aelian lands, the seven year blight having ended prematurely.

The Gargoyles have met their match in horrible revenants claimed from the halls of the underworld. Others have met their opposite selves and been annihilated by the diametrical force.

In short: Mictlan is slowly crumbling and without leadership. C'tis is gobbling up other weak pretender states and is probably in position to decide the game by attacking or allying himself with another player.

I find myself having less spare time, due to work and stuff.

It has been very educational. I realize I'm a mid game player. I try to stick to mid game strategies, ignore artifacts and items and expect troops to be useful http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif I also play better when I have time to think and when I play continously. I'm less efficient with 48h hosting and even less with 72. Still I'm glad we have 72 now. Summer was better for me http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

llamabeast September 24th, 2007 02:11 PM

Re: Hosting change

Wow, poor Lawgiver. That sounds pretty grim.

Yeah, I also find 48h, and especially 72h hosting tends to make me much less efficient. And in my (very limited) late game experience troops still can be useful, but you really have to have Army of Lead, Fog Warriors and other buffs up every battle for them to stand a chance. The late game is an interestingly different challenge, I'm still trying to get the knack of it.

Re: Hosting change

Aha, I say!

This new brain of mine seems to work splendidly!
Chop Suwey tasted good. Both of them http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif I think I'll go harvesting anf chopping http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
The Mammoths has been given the law, and is following the law. All hail the Lawgiver!
This soft new brain might even have a solution for the Tartarian prison break!

And Teotl, prophet of the Lawgiver is proclaiming a new creed. From the skies, Abode of the Lawgiver, harsh justice will fall as lightning andf thunder. Soon all will cherish as the heavens turns ominious and full of meanings only grasped by those true of heart!

All hail the Lawgiver! Lord of the Light!

Ok, I will ask the question.

Anyone know why well of misery is still up when Ermor is completely destroyed?

Valerius October 5th, 2007 11:03 PM

Re: Hosting change

It looks like it's on Edi's bug list. Since Ermor was dominion killed and the WoM caster wasn't slain the global stays in place.

Re: Hosting change

It seems to be, which is a bug, which is annoying http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Re: Hosting change

I was wondering about that myself. I did actually kill the caster right before going on holliday, but didn't get around to checking the bug list before leaving. It might have something to do with the caster being immortal maybe?

Actually I'd quite like it if you sent a turn in with 3.10. The idea is that the server spots that the 2h file is for the new version and sends a message out to everyone. But I haven't really had a chance to test it.
