T'ien Ch'i would not consider the great battle you may have witnessed to be anything more than a Minor setback. It only marks the second defeat we have been handed in battle by Mictlan and much like the first, the vast majority of our best troops survived the battle and things will be quickly turned around although unfortunately this time they were scattered to 4 different provinces including one under R'lyeh's dominion driving our commanders insane so perhaps not as quickly as the last defeat turned around.

The loss of our prophet and a few commanders was really the only major setback to come from the battle. While Mictlan possesed a 2 to 1 numerical advantage in the battle with both commanders and troops in the final tally of who was left standing T'ien Ch'i would have had the stronger position if all troops had been in one single province.

As for adjusting our tactics, Mictlan will soon get a taste of the revision in our tactics and see a few fireworks coming from the other side of the battlefield. They will never again posses the land that they held at the beginning of our conflict. And soon they will control little land at all with Abysia to follow them.

Well, hopefully each one of the staling teams can play for each other for now.

We need to keep this game moving.

I've had some good allies come in for me in the past. I will call in some favors. Anyone want to see Xietor in this game? Cause he owes me.

Xietor quit playing? When/where did he say that?

The server appears to be up, but I can't take my turn (dom3 process is going, but hasn't eaten much CPU time). I'll try again in the morning. If I need to restart it'll be restarted with 48 hrs on the timer.

Incidentally, I did a cursory check and saw no obvious evidence of cheating, and would prefer not to dig closer as it is a pain.

Should have been more clear. Xietor is in the process of quitting Dominions. He is finishing his current games, but not taking on any new ones.

I went ahead and set Ermor to AI. Frank has set Agartha to AI.

Thanks for their excellent effort - in spite of our recent resurgence, I don't think I have much of a chance of doing better :(.

Bleh.. I dont want you out of the game. I'm still hoping you will accept my offer. But if not I'll soon have the largest army you have seen yet assembled very soon with plenty of evocation to back it up. And it will be heading directly to your capital. No more pussy footing around.

When you knock a player out of convention - which you have done, unless I can beat this major army of yours, and probably even then - it's highly unreasonable to expect them to stay around in order to help you win.

In fact, I've never seen it happen. People either stop playing, or stick around long enough to do you as much damage as possible. The game is enough work to play that no-one wants to spend time doing turns unless they're playing to win.

Sigh.. I would have hoped you might have seen it as a chance for you to still be part of the victory yourself. In the end it will likely come down to R'lyeh kicking my *** once everyone else is out which is rapidly beginning to happen. Mictlan and its amphibious Rain warriors was probably R'lyeh's greatest threat in this game and I have effectively removed that threat paving the way to a victory for R'leyh / Man.

I have no illusions here, I may be able to largely dominate the land but in the end I will have no way to take the sea without heavy use of magic. And even then its doubtfull. With Ermor and Agartha gone I have no doubt that Ulm, Man and R'leyh will all soon rival me on land. I dont really know what Pythium and Marginon are doing (If Pythium hasnt been flat out staling every turn) and I guess Bogorus is just trying to hang in there. I suppose I'll start trying to gobble up some of the Agartha Ermor AI Provinces soon before they are all gone. But my point was that I saw the offer to you as being more than just You = my slave and more of an equal rights kind of deal. Though I would have certainly liked to have taken some credit. :D

But as I said from the beginning if you don't see it that way I'll just take you out and soldier on the best that I can, thick headed barbarians that we T'ien Ch'i are...

It seems strange that you did not even mention the conquerors of Ermor, Ulm and Pangaea. Also, Bogarus is huge, for your information, and getting bigger.

I did mention Ulm right along with R'lyeh and Man. Bogarus's status however I was unaware about. From reading other posts in this thread I was under the impression that Bogarus was not doing too great, at least given the weak nature of their troops. As for Pan, it sounds as if Ermor managed to cause some damage there before they were finally defeated.

Ive not witnessed any of Ulm or Pangaeas battles with Ermor or Agartha though Only R'lyeh, man and Bogorus's battles. Although from Man's reports most of the credit goes to Ulm. I dont have quite the extensive network of scouts and spies that some of the other nations like Man posses so my info may be a bit sketchy.

You need to go no further then the Hall of Fame to see the damage that Pangaea has inflicted. They do deserve some credit.

Hey, sorry about my absence from the forum. Things have been a bit hectic. At any rate, I wanted to thank you all for the excellent game. I had one hell of a time, and I learned a great deal.

Thanks for the AI Dr. P, I was honestly considering doing it myself, as really there was not much I could do against what was being sent my way.

In other news, I can't wait untill the rest of you get to see what I was dealing with at the end. I'm officially endorsing the Ulm/Pan team ;).

I forgot to mention, Micah and Ling, you guys were fantastic opponents. And, I guess Bog had a nice flying statue ;).

Hrrrm so does anyone know the status of the server? I'm guessing maybe the issue is that you cannot connect to the server until its patched?? Or is something else going on.

I just don't want to have to keep checking the server every few hours if it will be down for a day or two.

I don't think having patched or non-patched version should matter in connecting to the server [I didn't patch yet]. It should just crash the game when you get next file [but get it] and try to run it without patching [assuming server will patch]. It would be also strange if patched turn crashed unpatched server before hosting.

Who is still playing this game? I know Ermor and Agartha are out, and Pythium is not being played, and I think that perhaps Mari is not being played either at this point.

Yeah, I did.

Maybe the turn didn't post b/c I played two different positions with the same CD key? I thought this had been fixed but maybe not - can some random stranger please set Ermor to AI? Maybe the external IP address of the connection I'm using changes and the game thought it was... I dunno.

Errrr if Jame's is still playing Marginon though why doesnt he just take over Pythium until a sub can be found. It would really screw him over if his Teammate suddenly went AI and attacked him.

Indeed, it would be very hard to justify setting a nation to AI in a team game. Considering the impact, it's almost like setting both nations to AI if the live player has to contend with his "buddy".

I think it is Mari's plan to just attack pythium himself, and take his lands, rather than having to play both turns.

I believe that he was saving his strength for a concerted counterattack, but didn't bother executing because his ally dropped out. Not sure, though.

Yes, Ermor did not drop out, for the record. He was quite viciously killed by Ulm (and Pan, to some extent).

The nation we were allied to, has fallen. But we can now clearly see that it was an error from the beginning. The weak and feeble Mictlan People where never worthy to fight side by side with us.

By Order of Heleon, God of Gods and King of Kings everyone in a position of power who was a proponent of this alliance, that was almost our downfall, has been thrown back into the Smouldercone. Please dont think, Heleon personally is taking care of our future. Your local Chiefs will be soon replaced, and the war with the proud and noble nations of Tien Chi and Jomon is coming to an end.

Heleon personnaly signed the paper of Alliance with them, so Abysia finally has worthy allies.

Given new events that have taken place within the past few hours and several communications between myself and my new teammate chrispedersen who has taken over Jomon he has asked me to request a 4 hour delay for hosting time.

At this point in time I doubt anyone will have time to react to this request and grant the extension but if it is possible to give a delay it would be greatly appreciated.
