Righto. Sorry, I was in a bit of a rush.

Ach. Oh well, I would have been just in time for that turn as it turns out (no pun intended.) Your move, Aristander.

Actually, it's PsiSoldier now.

Lingchih June 8th, 2009 11:47 PM

Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running

And, to wit, get your turn in, Psi.

Lingchih June 9th, 2009 08:02 AM

Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running

Well now, that was the most interesting turn yet. Although, Ermor's so called "war against everyone" seems to actually only be a full-scale assault on me.

Still, good fun. I lost like a whole boatload of artifacts, but what the heck.

I'll probably be going down soon. I can't fight everyone at once, though I probably proclaimed that I could at some point. I'll give you all a fight though.

Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running

Well done Psisoldier. An admirable solution that promises to be a lot of fun. Sorry about the name thing...

SteelyDan June 9th, 2009 07:09 PM

Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running

Oh, one other thing - I think that the "Armageddon" subtitle on the llamaserver page is now a bit more accurate!

Lingchih June 9th, 2009 10:27 PM

Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running

Indeed, Armageddon is most appropriate now. Though Septimius may get a bit of a reprieve now, since I have to move units to two new fronts.

So, hey, where are the Seraphs in this game? Someone must have a wisher. It won't be a fun end game without some Seraphs on the loose. Guess I may have to make a wisher myself.

Lingchih June 12th, 2009 07:00 PM

Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running

Some nasty thunderstorms knocked out my power Wednesday, which is why I delayed the turn (from my iPhone):D Power is still out, but I am in a hotel with internet access tonite and will try and re-do the turn from here.

It may be a bit sloppy.

Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running

Great turn guys. Nice battles. I was a bit surprised by the enmity going on between Ermor and Arco. Speaking of which, you gotta buff those undead Psi. Longdead Horse are great, but you gotta make them more survivable. Sure, you took a lot of my PD only provs, but look what Arco did to you. I will do the same when the time comes. Get some buffs on them!

And sorry about your prophet Sept. Why did he charge into the front like that? He was an awesome commander, and had beat me in all previous battles, but he was way outclassed there.

I dont think that Arcoscephale would agree with that statement.. Perhaps you didnt notice his Province count dropping as well as yours..

Fact is you are both getting it pretty bad.. My better forces are concentrating on Acro now since he has managed to wipe out several thousand of my troops but I dont think he has much chance against my Gatestone army. Maybe I'll take out Acro's forces that are sieging your castle with it so you can get a quick look :D

I did screw up a bit and put some Longdead in that army which is a liability. I learned a while back cheap units like that can cause SC's to route in a battle they would otherwise win. Example being an SC with Wraith Crown teleports in, while he's buffing himself, the undead that the wraith crown spawns get slaghtered quickly triggering an auto route of your SC before it ever starts combat and if it teleported in it may have no where to go and die an idiotic death by retreat.. I noticed that before the turn but forgot to correct it. But it was a valuable lesson I learned a while back I thought I'd share.. big part of the Moral of that story is... dont use Wraith crowns on SC's At least if their alone.

It doesnt matter. I'm honestly not concerned about buffing them.. they are just trash anyways. You may have noticed that my Army count is not going up or down... I have simply maxed out on both allowable troop count and Reanimation. Anything that dies is replaced immediately. I'll deal with any real threats with my teleporting SC's.. Of course that doesnt mean I'm not starting to add to the threat level of my longdead armies in other ways.

Heh.. If you want one that bad I'll get one this turn. :D How about equipped with Forbidden light, The Ark, Flesh Ward and some other fun stuff like that :) too bad I dont have the Aegis for him too.. :( I think thats always like the FIRST thing that gets forged if able..

Psi, great posts, but you know you are a ham, eh? I have not even begun to fight you yet.

Perhaps I will summon the Great Lord of the Abyss this turn.

Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running

Hey folks, bad news... or rather, good news for me, bad news for the game. I've had a trip to Ireland materialize out of nowhere (no, this is not just an excuse to run away from your gateway stone army Psisoldier... although I'd like to...) and I'm leaving on the 19th June, and returning on the 12th of July. I'd imagine that means a sub needs to be found. Sorry about the short notice - I only found out yesterday that this trip was going through after all.

I noticed he had a chest wound. Chest wounds make you build up fatigue very quickly. You generally do not want a chest-wounded guy going into combat, unless he has some really good re-invig items. Your prophet was close to passing out by the time he got to my lines. After 100 fatigue, even my little wolfies could hit him.

Welcome Pelthin. Orders from Arco: attack Lingchih at once!

Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running

Pardon the delay. My main concern these last few days was more the fact that my airline had booked me two outgoing tickets and no return flight...

Bonne chance all of you. It's been fun. I'll pm Pelthin to let him know what's up. Thanks for finding the sub Lingchih.

Sláinte agus saol agat.

Sorry for the stale guys, but I found myself without Internet accesss for much of the day yesterday and no chance to get to a terminal. Hopefully, Ling has not taken the opportunity to beat upon me some more, but we will see.

Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running

Hah! I know you're going to get Sharsembrach anyways, but that was a pretty awesome battle. 60 vs 1000 and I won?!?!? In the DARK??? Or perhaps it was a parting gift?

A fun last turn to take though - Lingchih, just to be clear, you're going to change emails to Pelthin after I put in this turn right? So he takes over on turn 86?

PsiSoldier June 17th, 2009 06:22 PM

Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running

Yeah I didnt watch that whole battle but How in the HELL???? did you win that one? Did the 50 turn time limit just run out or what?

SteelyDan June 17th, 2009 08:55 PM

Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running

Next I'll take out The Punisher with a couple of scouts :)

Yes, I will be switching you over to Pelthin after this turn.

Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running

Ahh, finally got to look at the turn. Nice turn, good battles, and lots of amusement. Sorry you staled Sept.

It appears that Ermor is running over me (to be expected), Arco has claimed my little western enclave (also expected), and Ashdod is falling to me (it helps when the player stales).

Time to bring out the heavy guns, I would think.

Septimius Severus June 18th, 2009 02:11 AM

Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running

Nice playing with all of you. Looks like Ermor may take the game. Pelthin may wish to begin taking my provinces to deny them to Ling, as I fear my cap may be undersiege soon and I may need to concede.

Ling, I thought that battle in Seahawk Ridge would have gone better for me. I did kill quite a few of your troops but my astral mages didn't function as I expected. I wonder if you can script Astral mages to take advantage of higher level spells than they have access to normally if you also script in communion master first. Didn't seem to work though, possibly due to fatigue. That is what was supposed to happen.:D

Lingchih June 18th, 2009 10:28 PM

Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running

I would hate to see you go Sept. I don't think you are in as much danger as you think you are, since most of my troops are headed back north to deal with the Ermor menace.

And no, I won't concede to Ermor. I have more than enough to defeat him, ultimately, eventually.

Lingchih June 20th, 2009 11:33 PM

Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running

I think I killed your Pretender Sept. Sorry about that.

In other news, Vanheim is beginning to drive back the Ermorian menace.

Yes Psi, you have been gobbling my lands. But I think that is about to change. Gobble while you can. Some very special forces are coming to meet you.

Turn time, Sept?

Lingchih June 23rd, 2009 10:45 PM

Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running

Good turn again. Some nice fights. Killed a lot of undead, and took a castle or two. Killing 600 undead vs. losing 17 shinshifters was nice.

Lingchih June 26th, 2009 08:30 PM

Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running

Nice fight at my castle Psi. I guess we call that one a draw.

Lingchih June 27th, 2009 12:26 AM

Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running

Well, about 1400 undead killed, as far as I can figure it. Not even a dent in Ermors troops. If this goes to point of no return, I will go ahead and concede to Psi. I'm not at that point yet though.

PsiSoldier June 28th, 2009 02:30 PM

Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running

Yeah I think my troop count is actually still going up.. But the Graph is just maxed out or something. Plus I have a ton of Thaumaturgs that are not reanimating right now because I'm moving them closer to Arco since he's doing a good job of holding me off.

Was a pretty good fight at the castle.. I screwed up a bit though. I should have had Soul Drain active through that entire battle but I goofed up. You might have still won if I had had Soul Drain active with your Tarts but everyone else would have died, or at least retreated a lot faster.

Ive still got some really great SC's that I have not had a chance to use yet.. I'm about to replace the Punisher with someone a lot nastier to lead the Gatestone army.

And Ive got the Seraph you wanted too hehe. I'm just waiting to empower him in Astral again and maybe wish for Magic power once to be sure his Astral is high enough that you cant just Magic duel him, although he's got boots of the planes though so it would be nearly impossible to magic duel him anyways since you couldnt guess where he will show up. He'll be ready to start kicking *** in about 3 turns maybe 4. :D

Its kind of hard to focus on this game right now because I'm getting gang raped in Carcrash by several nations and its taking a lot of my attention to stay on top of things there.

Just waiting on you, Sept.

Septimius Severus June 29th, 2009 03:53 AM

Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running

Alas, missed another turn. After I review my current turn, I'll make a decision on whether to continue to switch over my nation to AI.

Lingchih June 29th, 2009 07:45 PM

Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running

Sorry you staled Sept. Thanks for the Crystal Fortress.

Well, I killed over 2000 undead this turn, and still not a dent in Ermor's graphs. And, it looks like about 10,000 more are descending on me. I can hold them off for a time... but not sure I can come up with a strategy to actually defeat them. We'll go a few more turns anyway if you guys are up for it.

And, oh, goodnight Punisher. Have fun in hell.

PsiSoldier June 30th, 2009 11:36 PM

Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running

The Avenger is taking Punisher's place.. He's the nastier one I was talking about with better Magic paths, sky high MR and Astral skill, so no more mind hunts... Its a shame you got Punisher before he made it home to switch out though. Plus I guess I get to reforge the gatestone so you did set things back in that respect.

I wasnt going to name him Avenger but seeing as how you killed Punisher, Avenging is what he'll be doing. :D

Lingchih July 1st, 2009 01:55 AM

Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running

Most of Ermor's forces have been driven back, with heavy losses, though of course that does not matter much to him.

We should take the Ashdod cap this turn, which means that all my heavy hitters in the south will be coming north very soon.

You can concede to me now, if you wish, Psi.

PsiSoldier July 1st, 2009 06:09 PM

Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running

ROFL I'll skip the whole conceding thing for the time being. Thanks so much for the offer though that's really kind of you.
