Bah! Just when we were starting to get on top of our rather peristent infestation of armoured knights, a bunch of chicken men show up! The Vans are not impressed with the interruption to mead consumption!

Why? Well, flashbacks of a little sweet innocent Zeldor, quietly researching and making friends with all his neighbors, then a little forge goes up for a turn or two, and a while later the world is awash in Tarts :)

I don't lead in research graphs :) I am far behind in them really. And it's not like I needed that 100 tarts then... they were just sitting around and doing no harm to enemies. Well, most of the time.

And there is simply nothing evil in grabbing artifacts, elemental royalty and some blood uniques...

I can break out the PMs clearly showing you broke the NAP by expanding past our agreed borders a turn or two after you asked for the NAP and declared the borders; to top it off you put up PD in those provinces despite my warning not to since I would consider that an act of war. In fact when I asked why you exapanded past the borders that were part of our NAP agreement you suggested I should pay you for taking the poorly defended provinces since taking out a province with 5 units in it clearly deserves reward. Your PD was much hhigher than it was in the provinces you took.

Pangaea had awe satyrs stealthed in the provinces and were in place to take the provinces. The provinces would have been simple to take considering the level of defence that was in the provinces (5 units or so in each of very low caliber PD). After my warning about placing PD, which was sent in plenty of time for the turn to be sent without placing PD I felt I had casus belli when I discovered there was in fact PD placed there the turn following the warning.

You are the one violating the NAP. I have only grabbed more provinces because you lost them to Ma Arcoscephale. I took care of his pretender, that you couldn't kill, and grabbed his remaining provs, to kill him [as you had no armies able to do so]. I was willing to honor our agreement, but I only got a threatening PM, which made me worry about possible good relationship. I never got a reply on my PM, where I suggested giving you that provs back in exchange for some small reparation for using my armies to kill enemy that was conquering your provs and killed your pretender.

And now you come with stealthy armies, that must have been preparing that attack for many turns. So it looks like you planned to launch that attack from the beginning :)

it is not up to one party of an agreement to decide whether or not he is "willing to honour our agreement", threatening PM or no. If a border was agreed upon, there is no right to hold on to territory beyond it; perhaps putting up pd might be a military necessity if arco was counter-attacking, but asking for payment for lands which are not yours clearly violates the prior agreement.

the existence of stealthy armies is not a violation of a NAP. You cannot use a belief that an opponent was going to violate a NAP as rationale for you yourself breaking it.

I never asked for money, just suggested it :) There was only some PD there and I never stopped him from taking that provs back :) He just attacked with one scout even before I could read his PM and change anything before hosting.

Anyway, I'm fine with killing Pangaea :) Action is always good :)

On another note, completely unrelated of all this, I will trade 10 gems of any sort (save death or earth as I have no such income) for 2 luck pendants!

The peaceful nation of midgard is looking to trade gems. We have a need for more air and earth. in return we offer all other types of gems, aswell as various items we can forge.

We also have a need for 5 shields of gleaming gold. Kb, if you still need those lucky pendants and can pay in air, send me a pm, I already have spare pendants so I can send them this turn.

Juste came back to this thread. So my pretender managed to cause a little bit of chaos after all?

More than all your other troops together :) I think you did some pretty bad movement mistakes. And my ancestor vessels were way better against elephants than I expected.

it'll take me a few turns to round up the gems for a fire booster after which I will trade for an air. >.> BT W, would any deceased players like to take over the nation of Bogarus? You get to sit around on poor gems and a poorly thought out research tree and do nothing. =) (You also lost half your army trying to kill /one/ dragon ...)

GG All, I was happy to win the nasty little battle for my valley vs LA Man, unfortunately that plus trying to mop up the AI left me a bit 'vulnerable' to MA Mictlan. Oh well, losing is fun!

Well you can take over Bogarus once you're fully downed. It's by no means a winning position but it's a peaceful one to experiment some spells with (let me just get one more turn to try out some new summons) and you can really screw up someone's game if you choose. (There's some powerful evo's they can pull off =D)

Find by get to const8 and find unforged :)

And there are still some chances that indy commanders will get artifacts as equipment. You can only lower the probability of that happening.

Remnants of artifacts indeed! I researched up to construction 8 and they were ALL taken except for the three I invested in, in which they were failed to produce as someone else made them on the same turn. Sigh =( 60+ gems down the drain and all that research for nothing.

Hmmmm, I wonder who could possibly have forged them all so soon then.

Would probably be someone with access to many paths, and many cross path mages.

Maybe people should keep their eyes open for someone who might be trying to cash in on their Hammer of the Forge Lord, perhaps very publicly trying to sell cheap Rings of Wizardry, or even just random artifacts they don't need - clues of that nature. :o

Alright I turned my files over to Wokeye. I couldn't even get to test the summons I wanted as "mountain/forest" provinces don't count as "mountain" provinces in terms of summoning mountain villas so I can't even get the creatures to heal my diseases off my old dudes. Boo =\ Is this a bug??

Sounds like a bug ... but I thought afflictions caused by old age can't be healed anyway, except with the chalice or GoH.

It seems that some people are not aware of some features on that map, so I will remind them.

There are 6 cave provicnes linking to central island, called gateways. Every one of them has recruitable Troll Kings for 150 gold. Homer has 2 of them, if someone didn't notice. I have 1. 3 are unclaimed :) They are located at 3,7,68,383,405,114.

There are also some hidden poptypes, 3 of them actually, in rear cave provs behind water.

poptype 69 are Asmegs, A2H1 size 3 giants
poptype 67 are Dwarven Smiths, so E3 + 110% FAED mages
poptype 70 are Svartalvs, so E2D2 + 100% FAED mages
both 67 and 70 also have Vaetti Hags, cheap with just 100% SDNB

Provs with them are marked as "Many sites" [same as garrisons leading to plains or cave entrances].

you cannot remind what was never said. I had no idea about the existence of smiths/svartalfs, and no clue where the asmegs were located. This info is neither annotated in the .map file nor made explicit in the game post, nor stated in the thread where you download the map. Any players who were not explicitly aware of these would have been operating at a severe disadvantage.

I hope you are not planning to get NAture's Bounty up :) I think it would be treated like universal declaration of war against anyone on that map, with other powerful globals banned.

T'ien Ch'i is still selling Rings of Wizardry at good prices! That turn there is discount for paying in E gems.
