Re: Forge of Godhood - started
normally a person feels that the turns an enemy wastes destorying the walls of a fort justify letting them have that fort?
you have a nation with a very very high rate of freespawn especially so compared to goldrate 50% you can probably 1turn anyone's forts walls, eh? |

I think the next game I am going to play in... I will be using an immortal pretender!

20 horror marks, hope that allies me to a Doom Horror.

But immortal Pretenders are no good if you start on the coast, which sees 40% of your dominion going straight into the water :( And I've watched Jaws far too many times to be fooled into thinking it's safe to go for a swim any time soon! |
Re: Forge of Godhood - started
I sure do feel like the rabbit in "Monthy Python and the Holy Grail". All I get to hear is "RUNAWAAAYYYYY!" and all I get to see is the panic struck bottoms of enemy soldiers running to the next province. You know, I wouldn't actually mind a battle at times, you have no idea how much skinny naked women seem to be able to eat in any given turn :(
I wonder where the holy handgrenade of Antioch is... I hope it is found by somebody who do not know how to count to three... |
Re: Forge of Godhood - started
And I feel like Brian in the final scene of "Monthy Python's Life of Brian" :)

Always look on the bright side of life
deh do deh do Vanheim and Agartha conspired vs Pythium deh do deh do Then got overrun by a rampant Pangaea deh do deh do Always look on the bright side of life...:D |
Re: Forge of Godhood - started
Who is the nasty bastard that put their hands on the fair Pangaea? Confess now so that I don't have to go all bananas when I get home and get to see the turn!
|
Re: Forge of Godhood - started
Ok, so it was Van who finally began to fight back, and an indy water druid saw it fit to attack too. Quite acceptable losses, even though I love each and every one of my maenads.
Oh, and Ashdod tried a backstabb too, but to be honest, it was quite a pathetic attempt... I seriously suggest a bacstabb to be tried with something else in addition to a dozen or so slingers. Instead of a backstabb it was really only pat on the shoulder. You do *not* want to give the target a heads up, you want to hit their back so hard they can't find their nose anymore. |
Re: Forge of Godhood - started
No, no, no, you don't get it! We just didn't get the memo that this province had changed hands... we're just a bunch of big, dumb giants who can't even keep a Pretender alive with printed instructions.
(Hey, I ought to have died of Dominion death fifteen turns ago... nothing can destroy me now!) |
Re: Forge of Godhood - started
Razing forts seems popular these days!
|
Re: Forge of Godhood - started
has it occurred a 2nd time yet?

Re: Forge of Godhood - started
I am playing Ashdod now. Please let me know what the political situation is, and if they have made anyone mad recently :)

All hail the new ruler of Ashdod! Your friendly neighbour Pangaea wishes you a long and healthy rule. Pangaea would take it as a token of friendship if we were to see the Ashdod troops get away from our common border; seeing giants stroll right next to the twin-city does not make one feel comfortable in these uncertain times... |
Re: Forge of Godhood - started
None of my enemies deserved to capture the fort of Arcoscephale, I see no reason why any of them should be rewarded.
Who will next test their might at the ruins of once mighty Arco fort? It seems that the monsters of R'lyeh were unworthy. |
Re: Forge of Godhood - started
That was a heck of a battle, yeah. I thought your dragon was done for when it got paralyzed but he effectively distracted the illithids while your men were able to press on with force of numbers. Nicely done!

Re: Forge of Godhood - started
Hey - I'm not going to be able to get to my turn tonight. Can I get an extension till saturday afternoon?
|
Re: Forge of Godhood - started
Awwww. my god came back 1 turn too late to save my dominion :(
just for you vfb, even though your my enemy, i will send in my blank .2h file |
Re: Forge of Godhood - started
Thanks Frozen Lama! :)
Marignon owes its victory over Machaka to Man, pretty much, for his devious scheming that convinced you to leave the safety of the spider forests and bring your god into the foreign dominion of Caelum. Even then, it was a close battle when you counter-attacked. In honor of our battles, we hereby proclaim that all cobwebs are sacred and are not to be cleaned off the castle walls. -- The Council of Cardinals |
Re: Forge of Godhood - started
Around the same time machaka died, I killed a real spider IRL...
ooooo erieeee isn't it :) |

Man regrets that while its calls for help fell on two eager pairs of ears, it is unfortunate that only one pair of sinewy ears sought to genuinely help the beleaguered Wardens. While to the other pair, all outside prayers for help were soundly deafened by wrinkled and cauliflowered ears, that are obviously the result of decades of unhealthy Mitre abuse. The Lord Wardens hereby offer their thanks and condolences to the fallen yet brave Spider worshippers. For while Man's idea to use spiders to catch flying pests was a good one, we should have heeded the warnings the web masters voiced towards their untrustworthy, Jesus loving neighbours. |
Re: Forge of Godhood - started
Oh no, the nation of Marignon was completely willing to abide by its ceasefire with Machaka, until we discovered that Machaka had brutally launched a surprise invasion of Caelum, ignoring their diplomatic agreement to give three months notice before launching any aggressive acts.
At this point we decided that Machaka was not worthy of our trust, and we had better commence military defensive posturing before we were likewise attacked. So Marignon positioned ourselves in a strategic location in the mountains, through which the spiders had recently passed on their expedition to the Bandar capitol. We were attacked by the spiders the next month, at great loss of many brave flagellants. We have no idea who this "Jesus" is though. There is but one true god, Smaug, and Riego is his Prophet. -- The Council of Cardinals |

that was such a great pun!
machaka and caelum. spider and the fly! |
Re: Forge of Godhood - started
Damnit! I forgot to rebuy dagan!! 18gold for 27research is a fine deal! 36gold for 27research is not a good deal... he was only worthwhile if i kept him for longer... I guess it's true what they say about birds and short attention spans.

Re: Forge of Godhood - started
The nation of C'Tis is happy to report that our assault on the most hated Atlanteans has begun! Our carefully prepared strike team has already sieged and broken the first of their underwater forts. More soon to come :) We invite all other nations who have had to endure Atlantean landgrabbing and bullying to join the fun, now that the water cannot protect them anymore.
|
Re: Forge of Godhood - started
I'm pretty sure water still protects them from everyone who can't breathe water :)
|
Re: Forge of Godhood - started
The occupants of their sieged underwater fort would disagree with you...
|
Re: Forge of Godhood - started
Given the amount of water breathing commanders you have, you should be careful. Only Arco has suffered landgrab from Atlantis. Well, Shinuyama too, but that's history.
For those who want to get rid of the miasma, you no longer need fear their god, he's busy underwater. |
Re: Forge of Godhood - started
And now Atlantis shall suffer the wrath of Arco.
|
Re: Forge of Godhood - started
The wrath of Arco? Let me laugh. Your cowardly dragon ran away rather than fight the mighty Plwf, and your rabble of an army followed suit. If Abysia and C'tis weren't helping you, your dragon bones would be decorating the ocean bed already.

Re: Forge of Godhood - started
Greetings Eriu, and congratulations on your completely incompetent sneak attack on Marignon's lands. You'd think you would have managed to garner some sort of advantage from that, other than picking up a single 9-GP income province (which you'll probably get a bad event from), and getting your cyclops and army killed.
|
Re: Forge of Godhood - started
Quote:
First off....sneak attack? I don't know if that is the appropriate term.... While my cyclops was under-equipped, and losing him was certainly a mistake, it wasn't exactly by choice, as i can't really forge the amulet of antimagic i needed. In terms of overall troops losses though, there was little disparity between us. I have never had much of an army due to gold constraints I must admit I had forgotten the strength of Marignon's PD..... Anyway it was time to liven things up by attacking somebody. Have fun wiping me out, if you can. |

Re: Forge of Godhood - started
Of course it was a sneak attack! Your army snuck up to Marignon's border, and attacked without any provocation on our part, and without any declaration of war, or even any sort of excuse about posthumously defending your neighborly spider friends or such nonsense.
Not that there is anything wrong with a nation of sneaky folk like Eiru sneaking around and attacking people though, it's only to be expected from such ruffians and brigands. But why would you attack Marignon, bastion of purity, defender of the sacred virgins, and sworn enemy of the evil blood hunting nations? Evil blood hunting nations whose lands would likely feeling the righteous wrath of the legions of Marignon, right now at this very moment, were we not otherwise occupied by defending our borders from rapscalions like Eiru. -- The Council of Cardinals |

C'tis and Abysia helping me!?Huh, I should be the one laughing here, was it not YOU that helping himself to my lands when I attacked TC and R'lyeh jumped me and Oceania followed? And now when things turn south for you you do what? Accuse me of organizing some gang attack on you? I never asked anyone for help, nor did I ever intend to. I think I put up a decent fight, and hell I'm still here. Let's see just how the all-mighty legions of Atlantis shall preform now... |

Mictlan going AI
The Mictlan lands swarm with unchecked undead. Mabel returns to the void.
Good luck all. Had fun. Learned a few lessons. Let me know if Mabel still holds the most deaths record at game end. My lone indy commander awaits his doom. ;) -ssj |
Re: Forge of Godhood - started
Good fight. I didn't want to go to war with Mictlan, partly because of the vast number of priests, and partly because I didn't fancy wading through your Dom with your immortal phoenix able to attack every turn, so when you declared war on me I was less than pleased.
At any rate, the war may have been won by Ermor, but the effort was exhausting and the cost ruinous. |

qm is travelling, and his internet access is likely unreliable, so I'm going to extend hosting by 3 hrs, as I won't be around at the current hosting time.
Also, during this interregnum while qm is getting settled, if someone needs a host delayed they can also contact me. |
Re: Forge of Godhood - started
Tsk tsk Jarkko, I TOLD you it wasn't worth attacking me, even if you won. Makes me feel better about the game killing a real commander and a couple hundred units though, thanks for the morale boost. My 8 militia will be honored for their sacrifice.

Re: Forge of Godhood - started
let me be the first to congratulate you on your victory Micah. The entire nation of the Vans reaffirms our ancient and eternal friendship with the Agarthan people and that we have always been at war with East Pangaia.

Praise be to Smaug, we seek His help and ask for his pardon. We take refuge in Smaug from our wrongs and bad deeds. Who ever been guided by Smaug will not be misled, and who ever has been misled, he will never be guided. we bear witness that there is no God except Smaug-no associates with Him- and we bear witness that Riego is His slave and messenger. It should not be hidden from you that the people of Pan had suffered from aggressive dominion spread, iniquity and injustice imposed on them by the Abysians and their collaborators; to the extent that the Maenad blood became the cheapest and their wealth as loot in the hands of the enemies. Though Marignon is beset by the bandits of Eriu, we recognise the dire threat the evil Abysians pose to the world, with their terrible blood sacrifices, and summoning of unspeakable horrors. We hereby declare war on Abysia again, just in case you didn't hear us the first time. And we hereby rescind our declaration of war on Pan, and may they do what they want with their own peoples, for Smaug has told us that the people of Pan are blessed, for they have recognised the evil of Abysia. Our Lord, bless Riego, Your slave and messenger, his family and descendants, and companions and salute him with a salutation. And our last supplication is: All praise is due to Smaug. -- The Council of Cardinals |
Re: Forge of Godhood - started
Why are you quoting me in your post there vfb? I'm confused.
|
Re: Forge of Godhood - started
prolly just clicked the wrong button
|
Re: Forge of Godhood - started
Oh, did I get confused about who is who again? I thought Jarkko was Pan and you were Abysia, and you (Aby) were saying that Jarkko (Pan) had invaded you.
Oh, now I remember, QM is Abysia. Dammit! That's twice I've done that. Thanks for straightening me out (Again!) When I get the energy, I'll issue another Papal decree rescinding my declaration of peace with Pan, unless they get their Maenads in gear and attack Abysia before it's too late. |
