HMmmm!
Yes, you'll find it in the SP and SPAA Thread Post #241. As usual all credit goes to Don as that's something he really likes doing. Thank You. Regards, Pat :capt: |

Re: The FASTBOAT Patch page.
Usually about April sometimes maybe a couple of weeks earlier.
But Andy and Don are dealing with a lot right now so I'm personally thinking latter part of April. I intend to cut and paste this (The submission) into the MBT Thread as near as possible after Don and I have "hashed" out any issues he has with it. For NOW, I would respectfully request before you put something in this Thread to PLEASE read Post #1 in here. I have many reasons why I'd like to keep this Thread as "uncluttered" as possible. THANK YOU!!! Regards, Pat :capt: |
Re: The FASTBOAT Patch page.
Don,
THIS IS AS YOU HAVE TIME TO ANSWER AT YOUR CONVIENCE-ONLY. Sweden is going to send 10 UNITS of the STRV 122, of which I've spent a couple of hours+ looking at and hoping to find a simple solution for an export version, of which I think will work without modification and want your opinion if you feel the same about it as I do. Numbers vary between 180 - 210 total STRV 122 models with least 45 in service around end of 2021 early 2022. That number probably has gone up since the war started to include the first live fire tests for the STRV 122 since ~2002 around end of ~2021. From the game side to establish a baseline plus many newer refs since I submitted a modified STRV 122 a few years back. Those UNITS are the STRV 122A UNIT 031/UNIT 356/UNIT 358 and STRV 122B UNIT 353. My thinking is having me lean towards STRV 122 UNIT 356 for the EXPORT version. Issues I'll be looking into based on these newer refs. include... Increasing TI/GSR for UNITS 353 & 358. Review HF armor for the whole series initial block. I have uncovered the tank of origin for this. However, I believe I asked to have it deleted from its OOB also a few years back because it wasn't exported fully however Sweden and Greece did take from this tank it's HF and TF armor package. SWEDEN/CHANGE/STRV 122A/UNIT 031/STEEL/TOP 12 vice 8. // There is absolutely NO DIFFERENCE between these tanks in TOP armor. Remember they were all SPEC built. Finally, again as was the case years back the newer refs I'll submit at a later date with this added package are saying the same thing now as then, this version of the LEOPARD 2A5 is probably the BEST protected TOP attack tank in NATO. It deserves another look since I submitted that as part of the modification then. However, I believe what we have is probably right. Also, I came across the fact that by JAN 2023 Sweden received the final shipments of NEW tank ammo from ELBIT in Israel. This will affect UNITS 353 & 358 ONLY. From the ref... "Elbit will supply the Swedish Armed Forces with M339 120mm tank shells for the army’s Leopard battle tanks. The contract will be carried out over 10 months." "The M339 rounds are compliant with NATO and US military specifications, Elbit said. In 2020, Elbit sold the munition to the Finnish military." https://www.timesofisrael.com/israel...r-150-million/ https://elbitsystems.com/landing/wp-...nks_15_Web.pdf (Page 5 with a long list of users.) https://www.armyrecognition.com/defe...e_systems.html IF YOU HAVE NO ISSUES WITH THE PROPOSED EXPORT "VERSION" IT'LL JUST SAVE SOME TIME. BECAUSE THERE IS NO TIMELINE SET FOR DELIVERY, I WILL PUT THIS ON THE BACK BURNER. CHALLENGER 2 export will be done tomorrow, never mind, later today and hope to have UAE/JORDAN LeClerc's done as well. Travel day yesterday and busy after getting home. No place like home and our bed.!!!! And the "joy" of getting our taxes done later today. Good Night. Regards, Pat :capt: |
Re: The FASTBOAT Patch page.
I will look into this but really Pat...... DO NOT over-obsess about the exact model because all you are going on is sketchy info at best. Just pick one. You have NO IDEA the exact configuration they are going to send and we may not know for years..... if ever exactly what was sent and the difference in game combat ability between those Swedish models is
|| this much difference to the outcome of a game battle = SFA if you get my drift |
Re: The FASTBOAT Patch page.
As always "In house Rules Apply Here"
Page 7 Patch Post Part 2 2022/2023 Campaign and the LAST!! First, I’ll be starting were I left off in PART 1 with a “DELETE” I missed this in the Russian OOB. Next, I’ll be entering hopefully a handful of new tanks mostly to cover export versions of what the Ukraine and others have ordered. Having also common export versions in the long run will save us a lot of time. But to get there I’ll need to make some minor but reasonable modifications to make this work on existing tanks though I believe the South Korean “CHANGE” (s) should be the worst of not that requires this. Postscript it wasn’t. One last thing, I’ve seen “shades” of this in the forums over the years (Rarely) that a small tank can’t be as protected as a larger one. This is a false assumption depending on the tank. If the STEEL is close in value to the larger tank i.e. K2 with the Protection Package of an ABRAMS SEP than it follows the Protection Levels will about be equal with the ONLY difference being the K2 will require less material. RUSSIA/DELETE/T-90A/UNIT 861/PER REFS T-90A ONLY EQUIPPED WITH SHORTORA-1 VIRSS SYSTEM.// “T-90A also has a laser warning system and an aerosol-generating system that uses 3D17 grenades of 902A Tucha (Cloud) designation.” Quote taken from refs provided in Part 1 BOTTOM of Page 4. The” K” series tanks are at times referred to as the “Baby ABRAMS” and I’ll be using the “peerage system” as previously used for the captured Russian tanks to the Ukraine. Also, ALL K series tanks were compared against each other to further “tighten up” the numbers, with of course refs. Adjustments had to be made to better reflect reality but MOSTLY IMPORTANTLY to fit in the KIA2 and K2 EXPORT. Currently I’m looking at 9 tanks from the USA & S. Korean OOB’s. K1-88 K1A1 compares to M1A1 AND K1A2/K2 compares to M1A2/M1A2 SEP+ BY DATE OF INTRODUCTION. A note concerning the K1A2 I’ve included the discussed improvements to that tank that were brought up in the refs. A lot has happened since even some of my first refs were still holding to the 2026 date. With the escalation of events that have occurred since 2014 with North Korea, China and more recently within the last ~2 years leading up to and almost a year (Feb. 24th) into the war in Ukraine. Production was greatly increased to the point it’ll be finished in DEC 2023. As noted for the K1A1 I’ve built in a “safety net” just in case. I believe I’ve managed to strike a good balance between the new KIA2 and the revised K2. This is why I used the USA ABRAMS as a check between the K1 and K2 hulls and what’s in works, which only left me to keep that distinction in my head as I built the K2 export. To establish the “lower” base it was more practical to use the LEOPARD 2A6M UNIT 035 than the current fielded LEOPARD 2A6M, one of the reasons for this was to give me a “generational” gap I needed for a better calculation for the Export model. https://www.joint-forces.com/feature...t-at-40-part-5 http://tank-masters.de/?page_id=2980 http://tank-masters.de/?page_id=8790 http://www.military-today.com/tanks/leopard_2a7.htm SWEDEN/CHANGE/STRV-122A/B/UNITS 031, 353, 356, & 358/STEEL HF 70 VICE 62/TF 98 VICE 92/TOP 22 VICE 8 (UNIT 031) & 12 (UNITS 353, 356 & 358.). //All STRV-122 Series were SPEC built better than the LEOPARDS of the time in Germany. We have discussed the following as “one size fits” for the following tanks because we have multiple countries that have committed to sending tanks like the LEOPARD 2A4 or LEOPARD 2A6 to the Ukraine. For us it’s MUCH EASIER to manage. For the PLAYER there shouldn’t be any buy restrictions with possible exception of the STRV-122A as noted above due to the low number being exported. That will not be my call or recommendation. There has been much made about the Western tanks being the “tip of the sword” in future offensive moves in the Ukrainian War. Re: The FASTBOAT Patch page.
Don,
That is correct. The only "outliner" we had was when I by accident found that the French had applied the AZUR package to the LeClerc S2 (Series 2) in 2006. Occurred while working the UAE LeClerc AZUR tank. You already sent me that new unit last weekend for France. Just posted this as normal with some "word teching" to reflect what was passed during our messages. My "read" from our last was, everything is in as submitted. EDIT: Yes, all is good, maybe because you're seeing it all at once with ALL the refs as well. My first message had the first 11 items while the rest were sent separately in another message. And I tried to minimize the numbers of refs. sent so as not to "clutter up" the messages beyond what was absolutely necessary to get the job done. As you can see I had more if needed during our work. Don sometimes worries that I'll do something unpredictable around this time before the release. With good reason a couple of times in the past, I might've asked Don, what do think getting this in!?! ;) :D Done, Done & Done I will like as always bounce this against the release. This is my electronic file that backs up my paper file. You can take the sailor off the Submarine but, sometimes you can't take the Submarine out of the sailor. Redundancy means life. In this case and at work it means CYA! :p Regards, Pat :capt: |

After much "soul searching" and the fact I'm reading from my 24 best sources with another 10 secondary ones there's just "some" that needs to be done.
My references cover specific and or across the board equipment covered in this most wonderful of games I dubbed so many years ago as "Modern Warfare CHESS" the only difference is it's no longer "The Game of Kings" (Hopefully I haven't insulted any Kings that might be playing such as the King of Jordon!?! :dk: But if so Welcome! I work Full Time and am now a Great Grandfather to a wonderful Great Granddaughter I just held in my arms for the first time yesterday, there's something about that just brings out the "humanity" in a person. I'm in my 39th year of marriage to CINCLANTHOME and there is no one more important in my life. We will spend our 39th in Halifax NS in the Fall so she can see her Lighthouse I was allowed to put her name to on our navigation charts (Along with the guys that worked for me their significant other.) when we pulled into there in the late 90's. And when we lost our son, the perspective that comes from that and all of the above has impacted how I will do this. I will begin work on this list and again it will cover every aspect of the game less Drones. Sorry don't like them but that's me. However counter measures will be covered along with C-UAS and UAV's as well will be. I WILL NOT BE ON A TIMELINE!! as I REALLY HOPE Andy and Don won't be concerning the next Patch. If the Patch comes out first, any issues based on numbers concerning such as tanks WILL NOT be handled here. It'll be offline to keep the "pressure off" Don and Andy should he feel he's input is needed. "I WILL NOT RELEASE THE HOUNDS TO THE HUNT" concerning those matters. Don and as many of you already know through my posts that I've worked up several numbers for several pieces of armor. As a "taste" I see the need to improve for instance the FCS and possibly the HEAT for AJAX. Also concerning the LEOPARD 2A8 as I've also posted and still currently it doesn't seem to be much of a difference between it and the LEOPARD 2A7V. What will be different is the 2A8 will mount TROPHY. I also have seen some "light" news the HEAT might be slightly improved. I intended to go that route anyway to allow for some spacing between the 2A7V and bridging to the KF-51 PANTHER which there is a realistic chance we still won't see. The secondary reason is to allow for the export version of the 2A8 such as the LEOPARD 2A8HU. Though to politics and Hungary's more pro-Russian stance and generally causing EU/NATO because of that stance finding Hungry "OBSTRUCTIVE" in issues concerning the Ukraine, might jeopardize them getting the tank. Bottomline can they be trusted? My standards will not change it's who and what I am and to be truthful Don has always held me to a "higher standard" when I do this work (As a reminder. ;) :D (Just because he likes them!) plenty in here to show proof of that. So, in taking no questions/suggestions or comments I will do the best I can as it's always been about the players for me. Enjoy the rest of your day, I CERTAINLY INTEND TO. Regards, Pat :capt: |
Re: The FASTBOAT Patch page.
