Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

I don't want to be repetitive, but just reporting one more immobile army. Just no order processed. Maybe related to me being the last to play? I'll try to avoid it this time. The last player to update could report if he has such a bug.

please update my nation on the first post, thanks.

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

it seems to me, that the bulk of the turns arrives well before the deadline. i personally would prefer a faster pace, im wondering if everyone thinks that. are there anyone objecting this?

iRFNA June 3rd, 2011 12:38 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

I don't mind, but it depends on what everyone thinks. Presumably, the people taking longer need that time, but who knows.

lwarmonger June 3rd, 2011 09:02 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

48 hours is a good timeframe for me. Any faster and I could occasionally have problems making my turns (although in about 3 weeks I'm going to need to get a sub for two weeks, as my unit will be in the field).

NaivePhilosopher June 4th, 2011 01:23 AM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

I'm fine with 48 hours; if everyone gets a turn in and speeds it up a bit, great, but I'd rather avoid any more stales in this game if at all possible.

Numahr June 4th, 2011 11:24 AM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

I am currently moving and changing jobs in a move involving Tajikistan, France and Mali, so I'd rather keep the 48h timer, as it would be hard to follow a faster pace at present.

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

did ea ermor stale last turn? any way to know it? (besides asking)

Soyweiser June 9th, 2011 10:48 AM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

I'm away this long weekend. Cannot play the turns. However, I do only have my Cap left (Which I intend to keep, thank you very much ulm and atlantis). So I do not know if I should mind a stale or not.

Admiral_Aorta June 9th, 2011 05:11 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

We certainly don't mind if you stale. :D

lwarmonger June 10th, 2011 12:22 AM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Indeed not! Although I have been very impressed with how long you've managed to hang on. By my count you have defeated no fewer than 4 attacking armies besieging your capital, 3 from Atlantis and 1 from me. I think my next force is sufficient to finish you off.

bbz June 12th, 2011 05:59 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

As I posted in the other thread could I have some extension for the turn after this one. I will submit the current turn.

lwarmonger June 12th, 2011 10:08 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

I am going out on a 2 week field problem on the 23rd. I will probably be gone from the 23rd of June to the 9th, I will definitely be gone from the 23rd to the 5th. I will look for a sub if everyone wants, as this game has suffered quite a few delays as it is. Shouldn't be too hard as I am in a fairly strong position.

iRFNA June 12th, 2011 11:18 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Ya, definitely need a sub. I think a 2 week delay would be the touch of death for this game.

Numahr June 13th, 2011 12:02 AM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Sorry guys but I have to report yet one strange behavior: I have researched conjuration 6, however when I click on "Cast Ritual Spell" on the relevant mages, the following spells don't appear:
- Summon Roc
- Summon Zmey
(it is not like all EDM summons are bugged because Quest for the Firebird appears)

I have rebooted my computer, launched again the game several times, but I don't know what else to do...

What the heck? A whole part of a carefully designed and implemented mid-game strategy disappears :( Almost a game-breaking bug for me...

Does anyone have similar experiences with spells, or ideas for a solution???

iRFNA June 13th, 2011 11:02 AM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

I'm not sure what to make of that.. I definitely haven't heard of it happening before. Try hitting f or a while in the spell list to filter only for fire or air magic, maybe they're just buried in the spells?

Ragabash June 14th, 2011 04:09 AM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Guys, can we take a break? I'm going away for a week, I'm a trainer in a summercamp. I'll be missing from 06-15, till 06-21.

NaivePhilosopher June 14th, 2011 11:53 AM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Numahr, any luck with the Roc and Zmey? I've never heard about anything like that, but you seem to be getting the brunt of every bug that's occurred so far :(

Soyweiser June 14th, 2011 06:59 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Perhaps it is due to the crosspath spells?

And after a stale I have even more troops at my gates. More meat for the grinder.

Come on now... I want to get a couple of more turns in and finish crushing Bandar Log before I have to leave. Not very sporting to mention this the day prior to you leaving either... it gives nobody time to react if the consensus is to find a sub for you.

Incidentally, I've found a sub for myself everyone. I'll keep playing until the 22nd, and then Ghill will be taking over for me. I've explained all of my current agreements (and conflicts) with my neighbors to him, I'll leave it up to him to introduce himself and whether he wishes to continue those or not. I am assuming that he will, in which case it would be nice of you all to allow your diplomatic agreements with me carry over to him. If not, I assure you that Ulm has very deep reserves with which to fight!

Bring it! I think this may be the end of you!

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

I doubt it will be. So far all armies have broken against my might like waves from the sea break on the shores of innocence.

iRFNA June 15th, 2011 06:23 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

It's the sea that is innocent, actually. So by your metaphor, even the innocent seas are not up to the task of cleansing the land of your vile taint. No good in this world can wash away soyweiser's horrors.

We can lose many times and still come back. You can only lose once. We will bury you.

earcaraxe June 16th, 2011 06:26 AM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

is this game having a break? it seems to me that the hosting time interval has been removed (why?), and only numahr's turn is missing (for about 12 hours at least), yet he havent asked for delay on these forums. I would prefer some clarity regarding breaks and lengths of hosting intervals in this game, thanks.

iRFNA June 16th, 2011 01:52 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Well, ragabash is gone until the 21st, so we're going to be hold until then, conveniently screwing lwarmonger out of his last turns before subbing out.

Ghill June 16th, 2011 08:33 PM

Subber here!

HAHAHAHAH. Sucks to be Iwarmonger.

Wonder who he got as a sub? :D

lwarmonger June 17th, 2011 09:01 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

All I wanted to do was finish off Bandar Log. So close!

Numahr June 18th, 2011 07:46 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Did I mistake uploading my turn? I thought the game was on hold but by sending my turn (I felt bad being the only one missing even if the game is supposed to be on hold), I provoked quick host... I hope I did not screw any one.

By the way, please let me know if you reach conjuration 6 and can/cannot summon Rocs and Zmeys, this bug really annoys me and i would like to know if it is only me or maybe some unexpected consequences of the cross-path combat spells, or whatever else...?

iRFNA June 18th, 2011 08:06 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

It's fine about the quickhost, everyone had their turn in so it went to the next. The timer is off to prevent anyone without their turn in from getting staled on.

That CPCS could be causing your problem is an interesting idea... If that's the case, it might have broken a great deal more than just those summons.

iRFNA June 21st, 2011 07:37 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Putting the timer back up

iRFNA June 23rd, 2011 02:26 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Ragabash, aren't you supposed to be back by now?

Btw, the timer hasn't gone back up, maybe gandalf missed my email.

Ghill June 24th, 2011 02:34 AM

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

GAH! I completely spaced! I am the worst sub EVER!

iRFNA June 24th, 2011 12:19 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

I'm not sure what you're talking about since you haven't had a chance to do anything yet. We're still waiting on ragabash, who hasn't logged into the forums since he said he'd be gone from 15-21...

Ghill June 25th, 2011 10:52 AM

Panic subsided.

I was reading the thread when I realized it was a day after Iwarmonger told me he was leaving. I sort of panicked.

My turn is done now...

Ghill June 25th, 2011 02:38 PM

Still turn 35?

Uhhh, what just happened to the auto turn timer?

Are we waiting indefinitely?

iRFNA June 25th, 2011 04:00 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

I might have to find a sub for ragabash. I hope nothing bad happened to him on his trip or something.

Ragabash June 26th, 2011 06:26 AM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Sorry for the delay, got back, had some work till 23 and then I was sorta kidnapped for partying, denying any access to a PC w/dominions3 ;/

Admiral_Aorta June 28th, 2011 06:18 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Hey, the new patch causes duplicate weapons with CBM, so the game should probably be put on hold until we have a fixed version.

earcaraxe June 29th, 2011 03:49 AM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

yeah, this game is too fast paced anyways :P

iRFNA June 29th, 2011 10:32 AM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

This poor game. A solution for the mod problems appears to be here. This game is using CBM 1.83, so grab this.

Ghill June 29th, 2011 01:05 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

25 minutes until hosting...

Duplicate weapons is a bug that DOESN'T MERIT GAME STOPPAGE. EVER.

Also, thanks for the fix links.

EDIT: Just realized that Admiral_Aorta was probably joking.

Ghill June 29th, 2011 01:54 PM

Dire Portent, eh?

Did Soyweiser just go AI? Well, good game man. Don't know if you did it on purpose, but you almost broke out.

Also, I SCREW MY LUCK. I just lost an entire army when a battle I didn't see coming made me retreat into a province that got snatched the same turn by Random Barbarians. GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.

Soyweiser June 29th, 2011 10:06 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Nope, I did not go AI. I saw this was the last turn I would have any dominion left. So I tried to take some of your troops with me. Didn't go as well as I hoped.

But enjoy one cursed army, and some armorless knights.

Thanks for the game everybody! I got beaten badly, but it was still fun.

Admiral_Aorta July 3rd, 2011 05:32 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Why is the timer off? Has someone gone away again?

iRFNA July 3rd, 2011 09:44 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Oh, bbz didn't post in either thread about it. He sent me a PM saying he was gonna be gone for 5-6 days.

bbz July 4th, 2011 05:56 AM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

ok sorry everyone. I said that I would be gone for 5-6 days and that I will submit the current turn so that you can guys play it out. Now though I found a free internet wifi where I am so I guess I will be able to submit turns. you can put the timer on again. Thanks all and sorry for the confusion will post here and pm the next time

Plenty more armies where that came from! Good scales mean lots of cheap, well armored troops marching against whomever decides to test Ulmish steel.

Glad to see that after all of that effort Ulm is going to be the nation to take the Monkey capital!
