Okay, it is done. Unfortunate that no one wanted to sub for Abysia, but there's little to be done about it.

i want to see if i can get this all straight, just for the fun of it

two players quit because of repeated denials of requested extensions

one player was, for awhile, playeing two diffent powers in this game

the admin has abandoned this game, and gone AI(was he still prominant as he was when i bailed?)

did i miss anything?

Well, you missed that he was getting pretty chewed up and was going to be finished off shortly, so his disappearance isn't that big of a deal.

I'm apparently next on the to-be-eaten list. But I'll do my best to go down kicking.

Oh, as an added bonus, I get to fight off the random AI hordes of my former ally. Whee!

So the good news is my Rudras survived... by not finding anything worthwhile to attack. How disappointing.

The bad news is Ulm's Iron Angels have all kinds of obliterate sacred spells. Ugh. I think I'm mega-screwed.

Well, I guess I can hurt Agartha first. Hopefully the other powerhouses will get some sense and gang up on him instead of me!

The world will be a better place when Agartha rules supreme. You know this to be true. Surrender and you might be able to become minor gods in the pantheon.

OK, that's just annoying. I teleport some guys over to my castle to break a siege, and instead they teleport *into* the castle. Gah!

And where the heck did all those troops come from???!!!

Some teleports work only if there's a laboratory in the province, maybe it went inside because of that? Or maybe it always does?

So guys as mentioned earlier I'm going travelling. This is very painful as I've loved playing this game and have grown very attached to my Vanheim side. The time is approaching for a final showdown with Agartha, but it looks like I will not see it.

Erm... yeah, I kind of want to suggest delaying the game til I get back (a few months), but I do not expect people to want to do this. Though I do believe this is the best option if you cannot find a sub (the game would basically be broken). I will post up for a sub, grudgingly, because I really want an epic showdown... damn you, real life!

Most unfortunate, but what can you do. You have no access to internet or a computer on your travels, I take it? If you have access once a week, for example, we could increase the turn time limit accordingly.

A week or two off is one thing... no, I don't think we can postpone several months. But reducing the turn frequency is doable if that helps.

Getting a sub would be a good idea if Hereward can't continue.

I was talking about the Ulmish army that suddenly showed up way in the south in (2) Dagwood. I know they didn't walk there!

Nah sorry I'm not taking my laptop with me! I would delay until you get a sub, however long that may take - if the vanheim empire goes AI nothing can stop Agartha. I will personally message parone about taking over vanheim, he may be interested and will be about the right skill level.

Ahhh, in looking at the battle replay, I see the commander is burdened with a Gate Stone. I'll have to relieve him of that :)

Pfft, I've had the Aegis for a few dozen turns. :) Not to mention most of the rest of the artifacts, useless or not. :P

I tried to get players too, but none seem to be able to do it. Strange that it'd be this hard to get a sub.

I was starting to research construction 8, I think I will change that path now with my last turn...

Guys I have submitted this turn again (literally in the last hour before I leave) so obviously you can host again without finding the sub. Also basically I can play next turn again so long as you delay hosting til friday night GMT, as I am coming back to the laptop again for a few days before a much longer absence. So basically, this turn fine, next turn fine as long as you delay hosting on the next turn til friday night, then I'll be able to play the turn after that on the saturday, then I leave for reals.

So in sum the next 3 turns are fine so long as Tiavals delays hosting on the next turn (turn 60) til friday night. Just gives you longer to find a sub without stales.

Hmmm, ok, I'm out of ideas.

While you're looking for a sub for Hereward/Vanheim, can you try to find one for me too? Because it's a shame to waste a good position, but I have no idea what else to do with it.

OK, correction, I can think of one thing to do, but I really don't think gargoyles are going to save me at this point, especially since I don't have a 2e1a summoner handy. Or enough gem income.

I really don't think the AI would be a significantly inferior opponent for you at this point.

I haven't tried to find anyone in the z7 invision forums since I've never used them. I'll try to remember to delay turn 60.

krpeters, it seems unlikely we'll find even one sub, let alone. Of course, I could declare myself the winner if no one opposes. ;) But I feel that most don't think I'm that powerful yet. :)

If we don't get any subs, it'd be pretty terrible to put two players to AI. It's a great problem, but it seems solutions are scarce.

Given the way Agartha and Ulm are expanding, I don't think it will make much difference whether Bandar Log goes AI. Just one more collection of provinces for you to divvy up. The loss of Vanheim looks more significant -- he actually looks like he knows how to play & would give you a good fight.

Poor Ermor looks screwed no matter what else happens.

I'm about to stall, so I'm going to go AI for the sake of helping speed the game along. My tactic is about 10 turns too old to be effective anyway :)

I've postponed hosting of the turn until saturday somewhere, so Hereward should have enough time.

Sluagh, you played well enough, it certainly took me a long time to advance deep into your lands, even after I took the focal point of your capital. :)

Well, if Sluagh is going AI, that means this game is pretty much done anyway. Agartha can claim victory unless Ulm really thinks he has a chance.

Let me know if I should finish my Dominions career by going AI or just walking away and ignoring all this.

krpeters, you might as well go AI as we haven't been able to find any subs so far, and it's less work for you to do it rather than leaving tiavals to do it.

Tiavals, instead of declaring an end to the game, considering there are only 3 of us left now, I challenge you to wait a month or two til I return, and we will resume at this point - an alliance of ossa and me against your empire. It seems a straightforward choice to me. Either way I do not grant you the victory - your choice seems to be either to turn me AI, as you indeed have the right to, and win - with dishonour! or wait a month or two and we can fight a titanic battle.

Frankly, I'm very interested to know how well the money-disturbing abilities of utterdark compared to money draining rituals work. So far it doesn't seem to have removed too many units from you guys. Do units still stay in your armies without being paid for a few turns?

Awwwww yeah I have the Aegis. The unstoppable Aegis-golem has finally been killed. I just wish a whole army hadn't been turned to stone beforehand.

Not that you couldn't have stopped it trivially with the spell "Shatter", I think?
