Don't forget about Prison of Fire. AoE 5 Bonds of Fire, castable by Hannyas. I don't think fire resistance protects against that, and it should give your Ao Onis plent of time to hit her.

Death has ghost grip. Suitably awesome and up there with stellar cascades.

With boosted precision ghost grip is instant death for stuff without super high reinvig.

I've seen Prison of Fire work on Kurgi in test battles. Pretty much stopped him from hitting more than once every few turns.

A high protection thug will ignore most of the damage.

Ghost Grip is not AoE, unlike Stellar Cascades, so it should be shield-blockable.

Pretty sure ghost grip isn't shield blockable, because it isn't a 'projectile'.

Good point about the prot, I thought GG was AN.

Yomi's national summonables are ignorable. Nushi's & Kappas are out of your reach for the most part. The Dai Tengu is worth mentioning because if you traded for an air booster to summon one, you can slap that same booster on the dai tengu to forge your own air boosters and get you to the Air Queens. Worth looking into but don't stress yourself over it.

Ko-Oni's don't blow. Expanding with them backed up by a small retinue of bakemono archers and led by an oni general I can gnab 19-22 provinces within the first 12 turns with~4-5 squads. *I even tested the strat in SAC where there are MA indies and the results are the same.

As for the summons I like both the nushi; opens up the water queens/kokythiad/naiad/sea king/nushi/clams, and the dai tengu. There is also the shikome now (sacred demon maenads).
