I've heard mention that there were special sites? ARe they randomized or do we get an indicator of where they were? (Saephi had *'s on their maps to denote special magic sites for example)

Just play a test game on it :) Put indies to 0 and conquer provinces if you like. That magic sites are revealed, so you automatically get them when you conquer the prov, without the need to site search.
there are also some provs marked as 'many sites' - all garrisons leading to plains, all cave entrances and I think that also that cave provs behind 2 water provs There are also some changed poptypes. 4 outer plain cities have hoburgs. 6 gateways [cave provs leading to central island] have recruitable Troll Kings. Everyone should take a look at the map and test it :) You know all settings. We will be probably starting on Monday/Tuesday. |

Ah nice to know, thank you. I know very little about the changes CB makes. Just that the best way to learn is to be challenged.
I will have to go and see what changes CB makes, and examine the map in more detail. I am looking forward to this game, sounds like it will be alot of fun. Not sure how much mixed ages changes the balance of things, but I am so few pre-conceived notions about how a game should play I doubt it would be too noticable to me :D. I understand armour improves and magic and gems wane as the ages pass but little more than that. :up: |

Indies will be from middle age, so that should help Bogarus a bit, garrisons may be tough for them though [but no fire resist and Bogarus can get flaming arrows]. And CBM is even better if you know less. In vanill there are only 5-10% spells worth using. So you'd waste lots of gems experimenting. In CBM most of spells are worth using [even when still many are worth much less].
