So? We generally don't really start until 6:30 anyway.

Randallw September 28th, 2004 09:42 AM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Ok well everyone one can take a bit longer turning up. I'll assume a later start of around 1/2 an hour. As Narf said we don't usually start exactly on the normal time anyway. Considering Fyron now has new commitments can we discuss a possible different time we can all fit in.

Any ideas or suggestions on a new game time/day? It's on Fyron's server so he should suggest some times...

Do we want to stick with the same time frame on a different day, or what?

Re: Online D&D Gaming

It took us a while to get tuesday 6:00(my time) decided on, I'd rather just keep it there, even if it's half an hour later. But I have no objections to any time within -10 of that. I'm trying to get to sleep somewhere between 9 and 11, so I wouldn't want it later that 6:30(my time).

Re: Online D&D Gaming

hehehehe. Is that when the session ended? but I'm thinking I'm gonna like this paladin....

/me growles at Sulimo....

The current time-frame is pushing my bedtime as it is. Another half hour later will be very difficult. Perhaps, just maybe, another alternative could be found? I'm available at the same time, monday - friday. Sat/sun is very flexible.

Pally.... stupid pally about to attack a good cleric.... easy way not to be a pally anymore.....

Anyway...

the time is fine for me I just had an issue to take care of this week. I dont want it to go any later regardless of when we start. I have to be at work in the morning and then to class after work so my days are long enough. Midnight (my time) is already pushing it. I dont see why we cannot start a half hour later for those who have class... (wasnt that you Fyron? I forget - tired) It just cannot go later then midnight EST. (my time)

Erm... it is not 30 minutes later, more like 45 to an hour, depending on circumstances... And given how long it usually takes to get started...

So, the rest of us log on at the normal time and work out whatever until you come on. Then we all ignore your problems because there's no time. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Re: Online D&D Gaming

I can play any weekday or Sunday from 7 pm to 1 am Eastern Time. I have a problem for next week, though. I'll be taking a defensive driving course on Tuesday and Thursday, IIRC.

How much xp did we get for the cleric and skeletons?

Don't forget that the arcane locked chest is still unresolved.

Which world is my character from, Cyclop's or Randallw's?

Fyron September 30th, 2004 12:57 AM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

You don't get any EXP until the adventure is over. The DM keeps track of everyone's EXP and assigns it at the end of the adventure.

Randallw September 30th, 2004 05:45 AM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

I was considering the xp issue today. If you like I can put together the xp. Douglas, I was thinking your character could be from some nation on my world that uses psionics. There is plenty of space apart from my established kingdom and It would be no trouble to fit it in. Perhaps he was meditating and something happened with his psionics transporting him at the same time as the others.

douglas September 30th, 2004 10:02 AM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Ah, so instead of saying "WTF do you have against elves?!", I'll think "Oh, so I'm somewhere in *that* country."

For xp, I'm just used to it being done at the end of every session, not waiting for the adventure to finish.

As for Shaorin's place of origin, he could be from anywhere, but he likely wasn't anywhere near where he was born at the moment when the unexpected teleportation occurred. He tends to wander a lot. Just to avoid some issues with in-party conflicts, I'll assume he grew up somewhere elves are not particularly hated.

Cyclop September 30th, 2004 10:25 AM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

During a long campaign you can divide XP's at resting points. If you recall I did give out XP's just before the group entered the lair since a few members did face some encounters. Rasarow I believe had enough to go up to second level.

As for the sealed chest I will send Randall the contents so our Psion can open it at a rest point. If you shake it hard enough you may hear a +10 Orc Battle Axe, A sure shot barbarian bow, and an orc spear of returning inside the small handheld chest(jk);)

I can meet on Mon-Thurs from 8:30pm to midnight EST.

douglas September 30th, 2004 11:36 AM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

+10? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/eek.gif I didn't know we were into epic levels already! Sounds like the chest itself is a bag of holding, too.

Not only can I open the chest, but given a day per item I can identify the contents without need for that pesky 100 gp pearl wizards have to use http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif.

Including activation and charges?

douglas September 30th, 2004 04:53 PM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Yes. Psionic Identify's description is simply "As the identify spell, except as noted here," and in 3.5 Identify learns everything about an object instead of just its weakest ability. The exceptions noted are that it's second level instead of first, takes a day to manifest instead of an hour to cast, and, like all psionic powers, has no somatic, verbal, or material components.

Did we ever decide what we are going to do for times?

I cannot do Mondays. Weekdays work the best for me as I have commitments on the weekends. Also If we could go 8EST to 11EST instead of 9EST to 12 EST that would be best.

I like those times better myself, but can still use the original 9est to 12est. Any weekday works equally well for me. Even saturday at that time could be made to work, but not Sunday. (I'm bowling that night)

Yes

Re: Online D&D Gaming

It is becoming clear that the usual time is not convenient anymore for some of us. Fyron has classes, Douglas has driving and Rasorow can't accomodate extra time after the usual session, while Narf can't accomodate starting slightly later. Apart from Rasorow and Douglas not being available on mondays, are there any other days not available for some of us?, I know many of you said any day was available but some of you may just have the same odd day. Fyron do you have lab at the usual time any other day?. Narf, I notice you say something about "within 10 of that" can you please clarify, do you mean 10 minutes?.

I have a flexible schedule and can change to any day of the week.

Fyron October 4th, 2004 08:41 PM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

The International Date Line strikes again... in the US, the sessions are on Tuesdays. Douglas having driving class on Wednesday does not interfere with the currently scheduled sessions.

I can do weekdays with the exception of Monday.

I cannot do weekends as I already prior to this, have commitments.

I can do 9-12 EST but would prefer if not a big deal with everyone else 8 - 11 EST as I get up around 5:30AM for work.

Randallw October 5th, 2004 08:08 PM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Its a bit confusing for me at the moment. We recently changed to daylight savings. I have prepared at what for me is now 10am (instead of 11am, the usual time) but there is now some doubt if this is indeed what used to be 11am or if it is indeed 9am. Hopefully when I post this the time will show in the post.

Edit: it appears I got confused. Instead of preparing an hour early I should have been an hour later than usual, so I am in fact 2 hours early. This in fact means for me we will go till 3 pm. I have a doctors appointment at 3.30pm.

dumbluck October 5th, 2004 08:39 PM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Well, if it clears things up some, the OLD time starts in roughly 1 hour and 15 minutes.

10 minutes to 9, and I still don't see the server up. Are we playing tonight or not?

Edit: server's up, but it'd be nice to have more than two players

I didnt even check after 6pm.... May I suggest that we pick up next week Wed from 8pm EST until 11pm EST? Fyron does this work with your school? Douglas your driving is over then correct? Randallw does this give you good prep time?

Apart from one day later, and I have no problem, this would end up as the same time as usual for me. We just started daylight savings and I discovered Last session this would have allowed me an extra hour in bed :sigh:

So you all want to start an hour early on wednesdays?. I've actually had hayfever on and off for the Last week and so havn't felt like organising myself, so an extra day will be a relief. Good thing I have everything I prepared for Last week http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Re: Online D&D Gaming

I think its a half hour early as Fyron said he cannot make 5:00 but might be able to make 5:30 (PST).. or if its an issue to move earlier we can leave it 9 - midnight on Wednesday. Wednesday works better for me to the point that I would rather do Wednesday 9-midnight (EST) then Tuesday 8-11 (EST). But what about Douglas, Dumbluck, and others?

So are we doing (American) Tuesday or Wednesday?

Randallw October 12th, 2004 04:45 AM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

so far there is either a consensus that either day is fine or wednesday is preferred. I will assume that wednesday is better, but we still need to hear from dumbluck and Narf, and cyclops (who I haven't heard from in the Last week and who was absent Last week. Perhaps there's a problem).

Edit: to be clear, I assume no tuesday session.
