Re: MP Game - Pandemonium (noob/int game) - runnin
turn 73 is up!
The bane lord you charmed is of no consequence to me. If you look at the graphs I havent sustained any damage at all by just messing around. And my little hawks killed your wolves in one of the battles lol. The call of the winds is just something for me to do with my air gems to take empty provinces. The tartarian that got charmed will probably be dead now from a ghost rider attack lol. Oh and that GoH will go down. One by one all of your globals Abysia will go down. And yeah I am messing around with mindless undead but they are achieving what I want which is to ravage the land and pillage. I know I have to send in more than that to actually destroy your armies but I am in no rush since time is on my side. Who knows...maybe I will try for a dominion win lmfao. Arco does deserve a lot of credit for sticking it out and trying to make a comeback. |
Re: MP Game - Pandemonium (noob/int game) - runnin
bleh the Tartarian survived...I cant use ghost riders against it bec the fire shield kills them instantly lmfao. Oh and Ryleh you got hit by a ghost rider by accident. I dont know which province...my message report is a pain in the *** bec its way too long.
Abysia has lots its Mother Oak and Eternal Pyre. Pangaea lost one of its counter attack armies of harpies and vine ogres lead by a pan. This should be an interesting turn now that it looks like Abysia may be on the offensive now. |
Re: MP Game - Pandemonium (noob/int game) - runnin
Wow, this thread is becoming a gripping read...

Well who can resent the Mictlan ppl this http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif . They are so busy with doing more and more cruel deeds to the poor virgins seen worthy enough to be sacrificed for the salvation of the evil Mictlan God . They seem to even enjoy it http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif . Unfortunately though motivating them for warfare is under these paradisiac conditions ( expect for the poor blood slaves http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif) still impossible . Especially the Mictlan priests have been affected by this laziness as well and thus our research is sucking . Our potential opponents have such nice spells like Ghost riders , flames from the sky , Tartarian gate .... while the only remarkable Mictlan spell atm is wish http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/fear.gif. The Mictlan warmachine is one of the slowest in the world . Awakened it is horrible though http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif |
Toasting Undead

Here's a few screen grabs from this turns major battle. Ermor attempted put a big time whup *** on poor old Abysia, but things, perhaps didn't quite work out as those Old Empire Ermorians had hoped. The battle progressed through 3 phases: a major Ghost Rider attack, a large battle in the movement phase, and then the storming of the castle (I won't bother to screen grab this Last, as it was rather anticlimatic).
The good guys: (well, I'm not sure if it's really fair to call Devils, Arch Devils, Father Illearth, Bane Lords and the like "good guys", but we like to think of ourselves as rather allright blokes http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif ) http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/thr...heGoodGuys.jpg Now, can you guess how many castings of Ghost Riders it takes to do this? http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/thr...GhostRider.jpg |

Now heres what we do to those there undead in our neck a' the woods (in case your lacking a 12 gauge shotgun, flame eruption works nicely http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif):

Now, after we toasted and roasted entire truckloads worth of Ghost Riders, then Ermor moved onto their real attack. Check this out (and can you count how many Tartarians those crazy old Ermorians brought to the party?):
http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/thr...tle2StartC.jpg If there's anything more effective than Flame Eruption, it has to be Flame Storm: http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/thr...lameStormA.jpg And the impact: http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/thr...lameStormB.jpg |

Whow, nice pics, Thufir, thanks.

Toasting Undead - Part 4

Ahhhh, relief!
http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/thr...522-Relief.jpg Now it took us a while to bring this into play (we may need to work on our scripts a bit), but here is a required component to any serious Fire Based Army - Fire Storm - just as it first takes effect: http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/thr...-FireStorm.jpg |
Toasting Undead - Part 5
1 Attachment(s)
The beginning of the end (including a little "gift from heaven" - not exactly fire based, but even Arch Devils and Heliophagii need a little variety now and again):
http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/thr...FromHeaven.jpg Note the paralyzed Tartarian Monstrum in the lower center - he eventually sees the light (with a little help from the Tartarian Chains), and joins up with our side. Here is a screen grab of what was going on in the Abysian rear for most of the battle (at least once the devils left to attack the Ermorian rear). Osirus (our Son of the Sun Pretender) and Pedoseion (Father Illearth) were primarily working over the Doom Horror, though another Tartarian Monstrum weighed in for Ermor, along with a bit of chaff. Eventually, Osirus gets the Doom Horror to see reason (again, with a bit of help with the Tartarian Chains), and the Doom Horror joins up with the Abysians. Here's the shot of the rear area: http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/thr...bysianRear.jpg |
Toasting Undead - Conclusion
Well, when it was all said and done, the mighty Abysian army defeated Ermor in all three phases. We lost about 30 devils, and sadly we lost two excellent mages (both our nature relief/charm casters, one quite well equipped). We gained a Doom Horror and a Tartarian Monstrum, although both will need GoR, if we want them as commanders. All losse occurred in the second phase. The storming of the castle was successful, with no losses on our part, and insignificant losses for Ermor.
Ermor lost their death gems for the GR castings (I'd guess 5-6 castings). In their second phase attack they lost their entire army, all comanders (including perhaps 15 Tartarians, mostly non-commanders). In the castle storming, the lost insignificant quantities of undead. That's it for this report - stay tuned for another exciting battlefront play by play by Abysian Nation Public Broadcasting! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif |

Re: Toasting Undead - Part 3
Very spectacular battle! I guess the big difference was that Ermor relied on brute power while Abysia had massive spell support. I can't wait to see how this war turns out.
|
Re: Toasting Undead - Part 3
only thufir left for his turn
Yeah that battle was only mildly successful for me but all it really was just death income loss which I have an extreme surplus of. The only thing I really lost was the doom horror which I never had one before and really wasnt impressed with it besides its 10 map movement. The reality is that this is going to be an extremely long war. I can going to use it for a lot of experimentation since I have the luxury to do so. I really do like Thufir's pheonix pyre/relief combo which works incredibly good. My only complaint is that whoever wins the war wont win the game. |
Re: Toasting Undead - Part 3
I never thought of Ermor being a nation of optimists - learn something every day!
Quote:
Losing 13 Tartarian troops plus two Tartarian commanders plus a Doom Horror is "mildly successful"?! Not to mention that your enemy took control of the Doom Horror and one Tartarian. Let's see the investment in the Tartarians is 150 death gems, plus some equipment (not a lot, we admit), and the Doom Horror is 100 astral. I'm not sure how you would value healing the Tartarians of their afflictions, but surely that should be worth something. If you call losing: the province w/ death income, +150d, 100s, + misc equip, +healing costs, +giving Tartarian and Doom Horror to enemy "mildly successful", I'd hate to hear what you call a failure! Edit: Oh, and we almost forgot the cost of the GR castings - how many GRs were there anyhow? 5? 6? Quote:

Re: Toasting Undead - Part 3
I never expected you to roll over and play dead. I attacked you because I had no choice. You were quickly rising in power and if nobody attacked you then it would be too late. The same scenerio may happen for Mictlan since everyone is leaving him alone and he will be unstoppable. And I only GoRed the doom horror. The losses I took werent really anything big to me because yeah it seems like a lot of gems but it isnt much compared to my gem income and my hoarding.
Anyway, I have a serious matter. The current turn is it possible to reset the clock because I am going to stale. I got called in early for work so it is impossible for me to do my turn =[. I have never staled before in any game but I got screwed in this situation. So is it possible Thufir to reset the clock? I can do my turn late tonight when I get home from work so it will quickhost anyway because I will probably be the Last person. |

Re: Toasting Undead - Part 3
Thanks Thufir for resetting the clock. I pulled a lot of overtime at work this week with back to back schedules so I got screwed in fitting in this turn. I am going to do my turn now.
About the doom horror...I just used a wish for it lol. I never had a doom horror before so I wanted to see if it was any good. Then I gored it. |

It was indeed a good game - had a great time - but alas, all good things must come to an end. I've gone AI now, I don't know if Aku, Boron, msew and Prinz Megarherz will be carrying on, but any interested parties are free to do so. Frosted has gone two consecutive stales now, and unless someone objects quite soon, I'll also set him to AI. |

Long story.
Things happened...Boron and Thufir had a massive battle where both sides used a lot of their forces for one fight. I am not sure if Boron will go AI or not himself. |

Re: Toasting Undead - Part 3
Well anyway Thufir, I know Boron had most of his forces there and was told you had an army of over 500 demon type troops so I would consider that "a lot." You do not have thousands of troops running around so I would consider the army that fought Boron a lot of your forces. I guess I am mistaken since you said I was wrong so I have to assume that was one of your small armies but the army graphs showed otherwise or maybe I am wrong on that also and I need someone to teach me to read a graph now.

Re: Toasting Undead - Part 3
Anyway in other game news. A new turn is up.
Abysia is AI. Arco is AI. I don't recall Frosted Flake staling but Thufir is the game manager and has probably been keeping tabs on it. I have counter attacked Ryleh, who invaded me Last turn, and his province count has gone down to the small amount Pangaea has in a single round. Ryleh's main army has defeated 450 of my undead at some losses but still has the vital troops of his army. Pangaea has defended against one of my storming attempts on his capital. AI Arco is invading Mictlan. AI Abysia has attacked me with 300 vampires and my dominion just pushed into that province. I am attacking the vamp army with a flames from the sky, followed by about 10 ghost riders, followed by an attack of one of my armies lead by my prophet. |

Re: Toasting Undead - Part 3
Bad times for the nation of pangaea.
With Abysia going AI this means no more backup in the fight against ermor. Looks like we have to take the same stance as Arco, definding the capitol no matter what. Maybe those 4 Bane Lords I charmed Last turn will help me http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |

What perhaps you have not heard is that I did this with my secondary army. The primary army which dusted so many of your undead with near zero losses, was still one turn away from the fight. I did, however, take significant losses in this fight, I lost 2 Heliophagii and a number of Devils and Storm Demons. I lost no Demon Lords, and not the Arch Devil or Air Queen and none of the casters. I will work on some screen grabs for this battle, although it was not as colorful as the Last one I did, and it's kind of painful to replay (even on fast forward, it goes slow, due to so many units - esp. casters). What was interesting about this one is how effective hoards of mechanical men can be. Boron had something like 600 mechanical men. Their lightning immunity made my Storm Demon Army rather more irrelevant than I would've cared. Had I given Boron just a few more turns to prepare, this could've easily become a devestating force! For my part, I used just about every non-fire global spell in the book! I did have a fire or two caster there, but I limited myself to Flame Storm, and did not use any of the battlefield spells, as I did not want to damage my Storm Demons. |
Re: Toasting Undead - Part 3
It turns out my abysia.trn file got deleted when I set Arco to AI. Does anyone know if old .trn files are saved on the server (either by Dom II hosting sware, or via code running on Esben's server)?

Re: Toasting Undead - Part 3
Thufir it would be cool if you were able to retrieve pics of that battle because I didnt get any details from Boron about it. All I saw was a battle report of Boron losing all his commanders and 600 troops and you losing 500 troops and a few commanders.
The mechanical men are a good counter to the storm demons and I had already started summoning them with 5 dedicated casters a turn at my capital. I also have a few blood casters and was wishing for blood every turn where I was going to do a long term strat of soul contracts for devils. I was also going to make a vampire army for home defense and offense too because of my strong dominion spread. I was also goring a tartarian a round on top of summoning 1-2 tartarians a round with the occassional 20% chance to get a commander. Even with the dozen tartarians I had lost before I had another 20 at my capital with about 8 already commanders. I started to change equipment on my tartarians to be immune to lightning and fire instead of only fire. I also had my 2 aq's still sitting in my capital. I heard about the equipment your aq used and was going to wish away the sword like I did the chalice before the war. Even if I couldn't beat your armies and limited everyone to just their capitals I was going to try to dominion everyone out. My temple count already exceeded 50 and I had forts and temples under constant construction still. Ryleh's lands are going to be another 15-20 provinces I can temple. My goal was to go for the extremely long win like at christmas time lol. Because even with all my losses my army graph continuously always went up along with my strong dominion. I was going to go for the long win because I knew I could outproduce you even with your 60% site because of my massive gem income plus hoarding. Boron has fought against me in other games so he can confirm that I always hold a lot back to make myself seem weaker because I dont like to show all my forces right away. I also like to play around in the fights and test things when I am in a position to do so to help me in further games. I am just saying my plans because you turned AI Thufir and nobody in the game has a chance, especially with Ryleh attacking me it is going to increase my base of power even more. |
Re: Toasting Undead - Part 3
turn 82...only ryleh left
|
Re: Toasting Undead - Part 3
Seems only Ermor and pangaea are still human controlled.
The outcome is clear, so I congratulate Aku. Nicely done! |
Re: Toasting Undead - Part 3
Too bad everyone turned AI because I had massive stuff in my capital that I never got to use lol. But it was a good game though.
So I guess whoever has power on the game can terminate it now. |
Re: Toasting Undead - Part 3
I have now stopped the game.
Thanks everyone for the game - I had an awesome time! |
Re: Toasting Undead - Part 3
