hm... possible if you think it's worth it. I was just trying to keep up with the seiv.pbw.cc style http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif
I'm a complete newbie with php so help would be great on what to do and how to do it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif |
Re: OT: How old are you ?
This thread makes me feel young and old all at the same time.
http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif Weird how Shrapnel, and SEIV, has made the world a lot smaller. |
Re: OT: How old are you ?
Just go to the page, click "edit" and off you go. If it asks you for a username and password, just type in your name (making sure to include 2 capital letters, for some reason) and ignore the password bit.

Re: OT: How old are you ?
My first ever Shrapnel post is in this thread somewhere...
I forget exactly how old I am, but it must be about 26 or 27 by now. I always kinda figured I'd have a luxury mansion, array of sports cars and swimming pool full of supermodels by now. Oh well... |
Re: OT: How old are you ?
I turned 33 a couple weeks ago... still working on US Government contracts as a telecom/computer networking engineer. Although I've been spending less time playing SE4 recently, partly because I got some new PS2 games and partly because I'm waiting for the patch to fix the Temporal bug (kinda hard to justify using a temporal-based race when there's a bug that skews combat wildly in your favor...).
Oh, and I've also been busy hassling with getting my basement finished; the "prime" contractor is a decent guy, but he's had trouble with subcontractors & has a bad habit of not writing things down. Oh well - it's almost done; my GF & I are going to paint & wallpaper it ourselves over the next few weekends. And I finally got promoted back up to Major; I'd lost a couple ranks when they rebuilt the Boards a few months back... |
Re: OT: How old are you ?
33, still a lawyer, still broke, still wishing I had the looks of Brad Pitt and the sexual appetite of an elephant shrew.
Like Dogscoff, I kind of thought at this stage of my life I would be married to Kylie Minogue but also cohabit with Salma Hayak (sorry Rojero, she's mine), Ines Sastre, Milla Vovovich, Giselle Bundchen and Laetitia Casta (I cant stand being involved in conversation) BUT as my dad always said, "Junior, there are two types of women, the kind you dream about and the kind you marry" 80 hour weeks, piles, athlete's foot, leaking garage roofs and flatulent cats didn't really feature highly on my wish list when I was a youngster |
Re: OT: How old are you ?
18 still unemployed, still teaching myself to program since I can't afford the college classes and living proof that what's your dad said was not entirely true Growltigger..... in my area I have yet to meet a non-super-model-looking chick and for some strange reason I'm considered the hottest thing to hit this town ever... ah well maybe it's because they're all inbred and like the idea of fresh meat http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif Whatever it is it works for me. Like I always say there's two types of chicks: the kind you get to know and then screw, and the kind you screw first. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Yeah I am right there with ya Dog...
Except I should be married to Cameron Diaz, and have Salma Hayek as my mistress...! I care little for money, but I wish I was a famous game designer...hehe |

Super Models? phewy.
Married an intelligent woman who worked out 3 times a week. Looked great in her spandex exerciese outfits. Phewy. The woman was an abusive, *od *am*d etc.... Now I will hand fast with a very out of shape woman who makes everyday a wonder. The intimate is more intence than any fantacy I ever had. She proves everyday that the old adage, "Beauty is only skin deep" (I'm 48, Been married twice, was a widower befor I was 30. pooh bear and my first wife are so much alike I would almost belive in re incarnation). |

Isn't it possible that the woman you dream about is the one you marry?

If that was the case I'd be married to both Sophia Loren and Raquel Welch!

I think Kamog may have meant 'type' of woman. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif It could be that it is our "ideal" in some way. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif If so, and if it were true, then there seems to be a wide discrepancy between it and the woman we do marry. Maybe we are just too impatient to wait. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif |
Re: OT: How old are you ?
I had my 46th birthday on December 1.
On December 3, I was released (laid-off) from my job. But, God was faithful; through what could be considered coincidences, I started my new (and better) job on December 16. I only missed 8 working days and have a job I really love. BTW, I'm a civil engineer doing design for residential, commercial, and industrial developments. Greybeard |
Re: OT: How old are you ?
I'm 51 and Viet Nam vet, too (slaps dbt on the shoulders).
Cut my teeth on an old game called Tactics II by Avalon Hill when I was about 10 or 11. Afther that, moved to Blietzkrieg by the same company. I was 19 and drafted into the army, where, after a series of tests, given a job in computers and assigned to ASA (an old intel org). Computers changed my life (DUH!) and been with them ever since. Games were sad in the early days of PCs so I stayed busy with PBM games: Starweb, Illuminati, Spiral Galaxy, CTF 2184 (still playing to this day), Criime, and others. First real game to keep me occupied on the PC was Empire II. THEN came MOO. Played and played and played. Beat it everyway to sunrise using every race on highest setting. Same thing with MOO2. But the game never really had a good way to play with others. Then came SE4. Learned to play well enough to thump all the AI at highest settings till it got boring. That's when I ventured to SE4 PBEM. And, then to PBW. After all, beating humans is what it's all about. So, there ya go! |

Re: OT: How old are you ?
Well my age could be said to be like this in a couple months:
I'm 32 X 3 / 2 - 20 + 8 / 2. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif |

I still have them. Wish someone would do a computer Version. First I started to mod them then found Panzer Blitz, ..... then moved to miniatures. Then computers and Empire with CGA graphics. (4 colors for those too young to know). Welcome to the forum. Edit: Reads date of Slnky's post. well, better late than never. [ March 07, 2003, 12:29: Message edited by: Gryphin ] |

Well, when I gave the problem I never told you it was proper math now did I? Math is math.
And yes David, you got it right. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif Buy a drink on me at the Cantina for figuring out the problem. |
