Re: new turn again

heh I donīt even know if I lost more gems in that fight. The mummy summoned some ~40 elementals of various kinds.

The cheating message came, because I got nervous and cheated me some 10000 gems. Actually I guess itīs because I made the turn on a different comp and I couldnīt find a cbc5.0 version, so I just used cbc5.2 and renamed it. Since the gem income for treelords is different in both versions, I guess that triggered the cheat detection.

Thanks for keeping me updated.

Sorry about the non-quickhost thing.

I put it on quickhost, but it crashed. Said the flying unit had an invalid move location or something?? I didn't understand it. Um.. is the game over yet? What should I do?

Re: new turn again

hah turin sent a 5.0 flying unit to a place further than the unit could fly in 5.2... would be my guess ;p

Re: new turn again

hmm, thatīs unlikely since I did the last turn on my usual comp with normal cbc 5.0. CUnknown do you still have the files from the previous turn? If so we should reupload and not make any fancy map movements. Sounds like a mapissue to me, although I have never run into that bug. Or maybe I screwed up with flying carpets or the flying ship.

Re: new turn again

I set up the host again, it is still on the last turn. So, yeah, I guess re-upload with different flying commands?

Re: new turn again

ok all turns are in again. I removed all flying movement that I could find and which wasnīt to an adjacent province. Just waiting for CUnknown to hit the host button http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif .

Re: new turn again

did the server crash again? Maybe we should try out what happens if everyone just stales the turn.

Re: new turn again

Yes, it crashed again. It said something funky this time, too. Okay, yeah, maybe everyone should just stale?

What happened to the game? Did Turin win or did it just crash again?

Re: new turn again

Oh, yeah, it crashed again. I don't know what else to do..

I don't understand why it crashed, and to be honest I..um...don't care that much anymore, since I am not playing. If someone can figure it out, and tell me what to do, I will keep hosting. Or, I can send the files to someone else? Anyone volunteer?

Re: new turn again

Well, it was pretty much over, anyway. There would have been a few moderately spectacular battles, but I'm not so excited about getting to see them that it's worth a lot of effort on my (or anyone else's, certainly) part to figure it out.

Thanks a lot for hosting!

So, is it over? Did Turin win or did you guys manage to gang up on him and somehow take him out?

Well I had 11 of the 13 needed victory points already and was storming arcoīs and ulmīs capitol that turn, although Iīm not sure I would have won those battles. I also was storming one of marignonsīs castles, which would have resulted in a giant battle, with me casting almost every possible buff on my 100s of ogres and devils and a couple air queens helping out as SCīs.

Ermor was down to 5 temples and I had positive dominion in his capital, so he was out of the game too.

I had won some decisive battles vs marignon before, with only very few losses. My economy was absolutely crazy for such a small map, I think I had ~250gems/turn , 3k gold/turn ~20 devils/turn from soul contracts and ~120 blood/turn. Important artifacts were all mine again, except for the sword of augelmer and magebane.

I also had 5 well reinforced globals up, well of misery with ~200 additional gems, the rest with ~100 additional.

I owned all the elemental royalty( except for antrax and the fallen earth king), two heliophagi, a couple of thuggish golems and quite a few gifted tartarians.

Perhaps CUnknown could post the gamefiles on his host machine here zipped and we can try to get it working on our own. I mainly want to know which site caused undead/demons to die in port hargal, because I had already run a lvl 4+ search of all paths except for blood(2) and holy (3) .

Oh and the battle in arandor with my 600+ troops vs marignonīs demon army should be nice to watch.

Re: new turn again

One of the (many) lessons that I've taken away from this game: Antrax is very very cool. He can sport something like 26 hp worth of fire/banefire shields, as well as a soul vortex. Even rather buff troops tend to die rather quickly, as a result. He's not the world's most survivable chassis, but he's not bad either, and while he's alive he's pretty spectacular.

But, yeah, Turin was in good shape. Well played, Turin!
