Re: Turn 55

There remains one big jotun army (thats active, there is another not attacking me iirc) for me to deal with, however its far, far away from my little queenies (one of whom likes collecting gems) that will die soon me thinks. In practically every mp game ive played in i face the same ending, i do well, make a few SC's and get plenty of mages then get steamrolled by one huge juggernaught of an army.

Re: Turn 55

Well, I will endeavour to keep your record intact Shovah!I have to destroy a peski Squidie first though, so you may just have to wait your turn.:)

The Giants may grind your bones into fish paste yet.

the 'squidie' should have taken care of you before i die (and weeners dont have bones so your last line is pointless! mwa ha ha!)

Lamentation of a Squidhead

You buggers... Every turn is worse than the last. This can't possibly be happening, not against limp-wristed astrologers and impotent panii... No! I refuse to yield to desperation, and will be born again from the ashes even more glorious than I was. Yes, I'll wash the amniotic fluids away with your blood, and leave your dried up husks for history to forget!

Oh, incidentally, my doomsday wapon is nearing completion.

Oh, crap! Pike, had I not forgotten a militia dude in that province you would have lost all of the commanders in the castle-attack, as well as the items from the wraithlord. Boy, do I feel stupid.

Well, at least the annoying sprites are gone.

Lost a couple more of your big boys Jurri? Thats gotta hurt considering its all because of a couple of little Wolfies http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

It seems like this game is all about the little guys prevailing over the big guys, Ygorl V Jurri/Shovah and Shmonk vs me.

Pike

Jurri July 16th, 2006 09:56 AM

Fortu = dead = Chuck

So it seems. Could be that fighting simultaneously against three opponents distracts me more than I'd like to admit. Well, Chuck and Fortu and a couple hundred vine ogres are not a small loss either, I'd like to hope. Maybe Shmonk will finally stop struggling and just die a peaceful death... Fortu was a badass and I couldn't beat him on the field, but in the end nothing could save him from my ire. (In hindsight, maybe it wasn't so smart to arm him so well after all http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif) Those nearly thousand kills will keep him at the top of the HoF for long after Shmonk is but a memory.

Shmonk July 16th, 2006 01:19 PM

Re: Fortu = dead = Chuck

Yea, well, Fortu is dead. I've gone AI (only capital left, really). Jurri was nice enough to equip me for a bit, but in the end he realized he couldn't go toe-2-toe with him either, so he resulted to Mind Hunt (chicken), and after resisting many many attempts (more than humanly possible, I bet), Fortu succumbed.

It was very entertaining, that's for sure. I expected to be out a long time ago. But I guess it was fated that my first attempt and tackling another "little guy" (Pan), turned out to be a minor misstep.

I look forward to the updates on this forum, and learning when Chuck and his kingdom falls, which should be next (I'm guessing 10 turns) http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif. And how Pasha Mama fares. Good luck all!

See ya soon in a Dom III game, I hope!

Most definitely. I'm just trying out Titan Quest right now, to tide me over. Though I'm still in 2 more Dom 2 games. But I won't join another MP game until Dom 3 is out.

Re: Turn 58

Cluck-cluck-cluck.

Is that Titan Quest any good?

Oh, and the obligatory whine:
Curse your eyes Pasha! If the doomsday weapon wasn't ready I'd undoubtedly be weeping to my corn flakes. Since it is, I can just smirk like a wiseass whilst these stupid critters of mine that have lost their significance this very turn (and who seem to get their 27-31 MR broken with ease by your pansies) stand idly by while your puny excuse for a golem clobbers them to death. Your days are numbered, and the number is small.

Jurri Sucks Dust Mites

That was an unexpected battle. I was sooooo pleased to see your two Ice Devils get paralyzed early on!

Ok. Let's see that doomsday weapon. Mine is already implanted in the brains of all of your minions.

shovah July 17th, 2006 09:20 AM

Re: Jurri Sucks Dust Mites

Well I for one know what jurri's doomsday weapon is, its nasty. What, exactly, is yours pasha?

Steerpike July 17th, 2006 11:50 AM

Re: Jurri Sucks Dust Mites

Well, before Pasha Mama died we were able to capture some of the immense (and positively vile) flatulence she routinely let off, in a Bag of Winds I graciously supplied. This had a remarkable effect on the Air elementals that were trapped in the Bag of Winds with mama's whoopsie !

We wern't finished though, for thanks to the Capture of the Amon Hotep headress from one one of Jurris Air Queens, we managed to Mummify the greatest of these Ghastly Air Elementals, the result...well you will surely see the result first hand Shovah.

And we will all weep for a world gone mad enough to unleash such a nightmare upon a helpless world!

Jurri July 19th, 2006 08:18 AM

Your doom is nigh!

An embalmed fart sure is a scary idea, but maybe not in the sense you'd hope.

Looks like my doomsday weapon has finally shut you dudes up. It is true that it is an aweinspiring thing, and words from mere lowlifes such as you would hardly befit its splendor. Such reverence for it will surely gain you a place in the Hell of Endless Pain once I finally ascend, instead of the much crueler Hell of Vile Exhaust. (Courtesy of Pasha Momma. Any plans on getting her back, by the way? I'd so like to kill her again!)

The Flushing Begins!

The Arco Press Department is pleased to announce that the Great Flushing has begun, and soon the Water Foul shall be soon completely dispatched to the Sea.

The great folk of Ulm shall soon be once again under the rule of land folk.

Their Arco and Pan heroes are on the way!

Pasha Mama, The Mother of All Flukes

That was so huge a fluke, that I'm not even going to give my usual whine/boast.

Really, that was possibly the biggest fluke I've seen in dom2. Until this the winner was perhaps when mages started targeting mechanical men (mindless =immune to mind spells) with mind burn and enslave mind and such, but this certainly takes the cake. Words fail me. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/fear.gif

Ygorl July 20th, 2006 01:29 PM

Re: Pasha Mama, The Mother of All Flukes

Hey, so what is this doomsday weapon, and what was the fluke? I'm curious...

shovah July 20th, 2006 01:40 PM

Re: Pasha Mama, The Mother of All Flukes

Yea, what was the fluke.

PashaDawg July 20th, 2006 02:07 PM

Re: Pasha Mama, The Mother of All Flukes

The "fluke" is that Jurri is finally losing, and he does not like the taste of his own medicine. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smirk.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif

(Actually, I am quite pleased how luck is working in my favor.)

PashaDawg July 20th, 2006 02:10 PM

Re: Pasha Mama, The Mother of All Flukes

The fluke... it was that one of his commanders with a nice artifact (Nathgul... or however you spell it) decided to blink which gave my mages a chance to zap him and take the artifact. Yay!!!!!

Jurri July 20th, 2006 03:10 PM

Re: Pasha Mama, The Mother of All Flukes

I'm not entirely convinced that the stupid jar is the culprit, though: all other spells it casts are shown normally (Nethgul has cast ...), and in this instance no message was shown. Also, the description of the thing clearly states that it will cast spells on enemies. Also, I for one have never seen the [censored] thing act like this before. Usually it just casts enslave mind, enslaves a critter that later dies and causes a rout. Guess this time it figured out the best way to piss in my porridge would be teleporting to one of the very few dangerous places on the battlefield, outside the fort and next to a dude with a wand of incineration. (The aforementioned enslaving wouldn't have caused a rout in this battle. Instead it would have slowed down your army a fatal step or two.)

Well, be it as it may, I'm through caring. Good riddance, and hopefully the [censored] jar of stupidity loses as many battles to you as it has for me. I don't even mind losing the fort due to the fluke: you need all the handicap you can get!

Jurri July 21st, 2006 09:24 AM

Re: Turn 63

Pike, why didn't that AQ prophet rout when the PD troops and commander died? It most definitely wasn't mindless or berserk.

Otherwise somewhat non-descript a turn. Mr. Icicle Fist's name won't make any sense after I mummify him, so shame on you!

Steerpike July 21st, 2006 12:15 PM

Unfathomable luck!

Sigh, Jurri, Jurri, Jurri...

When will you learn that Pasha and I have the most unfathomable luck imagineable http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gifA prophet doesnt rout when she should have, an SC goes down to stupid actions, an Ice Devil dies from Vine Ogres! Let me spell it out my freind.

YOU-ARE-PLAYING-WITH-THE-BIG-BOYS-NOW_!!!

So lets just put down our (cough) super weapon (Arcane Nexus and Forge of The Ancients is lame, I expected something along the lines of a super Mummified Air Elemental, pfff) and quietly hand over you lands... ok. You can go back to your little wading pools off the east coast and the adults can go back to their conversation.

Oh I meant the item spell from Amon Hotep. Does anyone know what it does?

Re: Unfathomable luck!

Awww, it just summons a mummy commander who is pretty weak save for leprosy which is a disease that is nasty against most normal troops. How often do I see normal troops in this game? Hardly ever! All I see is Golems, Gargoyles or Tartarian commanders with heaps of magic items to make em nastier!

However Jurri loses em like nothing else soo...

Re: Unfathomable luck!

You guys are on a different level, alright.

I'm sorry the doomsday weapon wasn't anything more impressive, although you're not seeing the trunk for the leaves: the Nexus is really only a side-effect of having a mage that's capable of casting Wish. I'm afraid my wishes aren't any more flamboyant, though. Maybe I should start by getting back every artifact I've lost... That would take quite a while http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
