Abysia breaks NAP with no warning

Pangaea would like to let everyone know that Abysia has broken a NAP with us with no warning given!

They are not to be trusted, and we would like to invite any nation bordering the traitors to join us in eradicating their deceitful race.

RicoRico April 27th, 2007 10:27 AM

Re: Abysia breaks NAP with no warning

FYI: Bandar Log has gone AI this turn, so it's 11 of us now...

Uh oh... the "continent I live on suddenly became very small.

Micah April 27th, 2007 02:55 PM

Re: Abysia breaks NAP with no warning

Ah, how embarassing. Our records regarding said pact seem to have...combusted, but the single historian that has not gone senile or died of diesease in the 2 years since the pact was formed swears it to be true. We apologize for the mistake and ask Pangaea what reparations we might provide, although their attack upon and destruction of our Ermorian allies demands retribution.

The army that attacked you was siezed by bloodlust after losing some of their brothers-in-arms after moving to offer Ermor's god succor, and pressed their attack in a fit of rage. Furcas...well, he's a devil, you can't tust his type.

(OOC, sorry, I remembered negotiating the borders while we were expanding but forgot that I tossed the NAP in at the end, and given that I'm now your only land neighbor it seemed prudent to hit you first, let me know how you'd like to resolve things.)

Teraswaerto April 28th, 2007 06:27 AM

Re: Abysia breaks NAP with no warning

It's true, it is some time since the agreement was signed. For reparations, withdraw all troops, pay us 400 gold for losses suffered, as well as a blood booster item, such as a Brazen Vessel, for the outrage.

Obviously, the peace is over, but to hold to the spirit of the original agreement, there should now be a 3 turn period with no attacks of any kind to allow us time to prepare (turn 43 would be the first where the war may recommence).

If this is not acceptable to you, then we say your regret and offer of reparations are hollow.

RicoRico ,
If there is time, and depending on how Micah responds, I would like/need to submit new orders.

RicoRico April 28th, 2007 07:53 AM

Re: Abysia breaks NAP with no warning

There will be time for that yes.

I have not got all turns in to host already, and I won't be near my computer for a few days. Likely, I'll host monday evening at hte earliest.

Micah April 28th, 2007 09:27 PM

Re: Abysia breaks NAP with no warning

Fair enough, we may be forgetful, but we are not without honor. Comes from having a short lifespan, senility hits early, just ask my researchers...

Re: Abysia breaks NAP with no warning

9/11 in, waiting for Abysia and Agartha. And perhaps Pangea's resubmission?

Hosting Monday evening indeed..

Teraswaerto April 29th, 2007 10:51 AM

Re: Abysia breaks NAP with no warning

Yes I need to re-submit. I'll try to do the turn later today.

turn hosted.
Unfortunately, I had to have Agartha stale.. been >85 hours without any message from him.

Re: Abysia breaks NAP with no warning

Should we hunt for a replacement? Better that than a second staling, IMO/.

Micah April 30th, 2007 06:38 PM

Re: Abysia breaks NAP with no warning

Pangaea, what exactly are you doing in Elkland? I suppose we can call the borders even now since I still have control over Ucrema. Call it a trade, shall we?

Teraswaerto April 30th, 2007 06:44 PM

Re: Abysia breaks NAP with no warning

I didn't do the turn over from scratch, just changed the attack orders. Seems I missed one commander. Sorry about that.

Agartha has been faithfully playing his turns all this time, can't imagine he would just suddenly quit without saying anything.
I'm guessing he couldn't be at his computer for a bit and forgot to tell us about it. I'd like to wait a bit more before transferring his slot already. I'll send him an email..

Marignon is pretty much dead at this point.... i'll stick around to the bitter end, shouldnt be more than a few more turns. Goodbye, cruel world!

Re: Abysia breaks NAP with no warning

Talked to Dedas, he has some important real life stuff going on so he can't play any games for a couple of months.. We'll be needing a replacement for Agartha then!

First to post here can have the slot!

danm May 1st, 2007 03:02 PM

Re: Abysia breaks NAP with no warning

I'd be interested it trying it out, if you don't get a more experienced player first. i've got a certain fondness for the rubry lil one-eyed fellas.

This would be my first MP game, though, so i might need some handholding to get up and running properly.

I THINK i should be able to pick up an established Agartha and do ok -- at least I'll roleplay better than the AI would.

email boztakang[at]hotmail.com if you don't get a better offer ;-)

Re: Abysia breaks NAP with no warning

excellent, I'll email the details so you can get up and running

welcome!

Good luck danm. Agartha is in a bad position right now, but not totally hopeless. Just if I were you, I wouldn't look outside your captial's walls. What you see might be a tad bit scary.

Re: turn status

The surface world is always bright and hostile... The ancestors will give us strength.

(thxu! all files recieved. I'll go see how bad it really is, and update the post here)

Dear oh dear, we DO seem to have a bit of a bakemono infestation! never to fear though... there is a stirring in the deeps, and the great ones wake. Already they whisper new wisdom to their great avatar Odrowmn, and he is reinvigorated as though inhabited by an entirely new intellegence.

It will take more than these over-confident demons to drive us from our ancient caverns.

[turn sent - let me know if i managed to mess somthing up]

received your turn, danm, all is fine.

10/11 turns in, waiting for Pangea

Micah May 2nd, 2007 03:09 AM

Re: turn status

Pangaea told me that he could beat me with one hand tied behind his back and would be staling the next 3 turns to give me a fighting chance at winning. That's plausible, right?

Pangaea would like to trade Air, Water or Astral gems for Nature gems. 1:1 trade.

We also need a Staff of Storms, price to be negotiated, but could include items such as Summer Swords (+100 supply) and/or Dwarven Hammers.

Would the upcoming new turn be a good time to install the patch?

RicoRico May 3rd, 2007 11:54 AM

Re: turn status

aha! I'll check it out. Everyone please don't patch before you all sent the turn.
I think once you sent it you can patch, I'll see what the correct order is, should be in the manual I think.. At least I read it somewhere...

RicoRico May 3rd, 2007 02:21 PM

patching

I checked the patching question in the manual..
says all of you should finish the current turn using 3.06, then I should patch to 3.08 before I host, and then all of you should patch to 3.08 before you load the .trn.

I hear you can copy the entire game folder first, and have 3.06 and 3.08 running next to each other if you are in multiple games with a different version.

The whole folder? Hmm, I have read that you only need to copy/paste a (suitably renamed) copy of the dom3.exe and then have a shortcut to this old exe if you need it for your mp games. That is what I have done anyway, though in retrospect the whole folder copy makes more sense. Hopefully I have not screwed anything.

Anyway, I have already sent my 3.06 turn, so if you patch before hosting then no problems here.

looking at the patching software, it says that it modified some other files as well..
well.. for next time then.. ;-)

9/10 turns in. waiting for Agartha. But, I might not have sent him the turn (oops) because I used an old email list or something... (re)sent it now.

too much burny sunshiny outdoor ickiness... wickid bad bakemonos and their silly more magic than me.

You DO realize that all we have down in our caves here is a bunch of broken statuary rite? With the amazing precision of our golem crafters, NOONE is safe from the magma bolts! and that means we just might hit one of YOUR troops sometimes... so LOOK OUT!

(congrats shinouma(sp) on fielding a better seige army than I had hoped)

Rlyeh Announcement

We would like to announce that Oreigenes, The King of Mountains, was killed by our forces. Any nations that may want to summon him, better try this month.

We would also like to thank Machaka for the Eater of the Dead. It will be a nice present to drop in some suitable province of your back yard - a birthday present, that is. Do tell us the month of your God's birth. Since we are at war, we believe this unexpected gesture can only be explained by Machaka's willingness to level the playing field. Given our huge disparity in power, that is. We thank you, once again.

Ctalou, The Lost and then Found Tooth in the Mouth of Agon.

RicoRico May 14th, 2007 08:33 AM

Re: Rlyeh Announcement

R'Lyeh is always welcome in our backyard. Do note that we'll be having a barbecue, main dish: seafood. Fish on a stick, minced crab, sea snake soup, and, depending on who you'll bring we might even have Giant Calamaris, fried, of course.
