For a second you actually had me a bit worried when I realized there was a new turn I hadn't seen yet though...

Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Yeah Arco Lost a big battle to me this turn too and I enslaved another of his Juggernaughts. I didnt have enslave scripted, it was just a nice bonus. I just noticed I had already enslaved another of his juggenaughts in another province too.
|
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Juggs are not meant for battle. A mistake on his part, I would think. They are there to increase Dom, not to fight.
|
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Nice. A very nice turn. I took some damage, but I think I am still looking god. It was a shame to lose the Djinn though.

In Carcrash I had the bright Idea to try and forge the lamp while I already had the Djinn thinking that maybe it would mean that no one else could possibly steal it from me but all that did was make my Djinn go poof when I forged the lamp. I was thinking the Djinn just didnt go poof until you used the lamp not when the lamp was forged... So i wasted like 20 gems in that game forging the lamp for no reason. You did very well in that turn though. Unfortunately the extra attention I have been paying Arco has paid off and he's hurting now, so I can start sending more stuff your way soon just like I did him when he was doing well and You were not. I'll admit though, I was a bit afraid after watching the battles that I'd look at the score charts and see my army size drop. But it didnt. At least on the charts. Its hard to say what it did for real. Ive got a lot of Reanimators but I did loose a lot of undead that turn. It might be interesting if you manage to push back enough to where you can try and siege one of my forts considering the huge number of Thaumaturgs I have in each one that can break the siege. That might would be fun to watch. So far no one has had a chance to try and siege one of my forts yet. |
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
It looks like I may have to empower some scouts in Astral to sneak along with my armies though to stop your mind hunts.
|
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Hmm, what is this strange pullback by Ermor? I suspect some dastardly plan.
And where did Ashdod pull that army out of his hat? Now I am going to have to leave someone in the south to fight them. And yes, sneaking astral units are nice. A bit expensive, but useful. Curiouser and curiouser. |
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Wow, this was a rough turn. Took me about four hours to do it. I hope it was worth all the time invested.
I'm surprised you don't just send your thaums out with your armies, Psi. Sounds like you have a bunch of them, and they are not doing anything but maybe reanimating. Instant mind hunt protection there. |
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
well that would be part of the reason I pulled back to regroup and send them with them.. Of course you will try using Earth attack instead to kill the thaums but a bottle of living water can summon a water elemental that almost always slaughters the earth attack elemental.
|
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Earth attack? How banal. I think I have better spells to send than EA. Earth attack had it's time.
Oh, btw, on turn 100, we will go to four day hosting. I know that is a beating, but I think we are struggling to get turns in now. We can call this game a draw at any time. I would prefer to continue it though. |
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Nah I'm happy to continue the game. Your going to see something new this coming turn and some other stuff Ive been working on shortly as well.
|
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
I have no problem with changing the hosting time as well. We can still speed things up by sending in the turns when we are ready. I dont see any reason why we would have to wait the full four days. But it would be nice to have them if needed.
|
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Yeah, it's still a fun little game. None of us (except Sept, I think), has a nation and pretender that we created. Most of us are dealing with someone else's initial creation. Which is a pain, but still, kind of makes it interesting. And the battles are great fun to watch.
|
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Well fought, Ermor, Very well fought. But I think I have cleared you out of most of my lands now. Time for the retribution.
And you got the Gatestone back. Good for you. I could not really use it anyway. I was just keeping it from you. |
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Interesting. Ashdod is making a few moves, but he cannot really hurt me. Arco is my ally. And Ermor can hurt me, but not really do much inside my dom.
I think we have the making of a classic stalemate here. But, I will keep fighting. |
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
I think it is time I take my leave. I've enjoyed it very much and have had a fine time playing with you all. This was my first MP game and I am the last of the original players. It is remarkable the game has continued for so long despite the number of player dropouts/changes.
Before setting myself to AI and submitting my final turn, I will distribute any remaining property. The game now looks to be a 3 player race. As this started as a noob game, I hope Ermor will prevail. I encourage Arco to take any remaining provinces of mine as quickly as possible and to ally with Ermor against the Vanheim menace :p. Regardless of who wins, I'm sure you will all agree it was great fun. Farewell and good luck to all. |

Well it sounds like according to Lingchin that he and Arco are no longer fighting one another and are both fighting against me... Kinda starting to feel like Carcrash where everyone is allied against me. :D Heh its ok. I can take both of them on without too much trouble I think. I suppose you can give me back the stuff I sent you to help against Vanhiem before you go AI though.. or whatever you have thats good or just some gems or whatever, doesnt matter too much really. |
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Funny though... I decided to fight both Arco and Vanheim because I thought it was wrong to all gang up on one nation but here we go with them appearantly ganged up on me according to Lingchih's post.
|
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
I'll tell you what though... If Arco wants to dump Vanhiem as an ally and ally with me instead I'll pull back my armies sieging your forts and we'll have a go at Vanhiem together Lol :D:D:D

Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Hrrrm Finaly had a chance to look at the turn. You have a couple of nice armies. One with a Heliophagus and Arch Devil and one with an Arch devil and a bunch of Tartarains.
Which one do you want me to kill first? Or should I kill both of them next turn? :D Ehh.. I'll just kill them both. I had thought that Heat from Hell from your goat sun would be a little more impressive then it turned out to be though too.. I suppose the fact that that battle was in a cold province had a bit to do with it not being so effective.. Ive been planning to use that one in Carcrash with all my Firemagic that I have there it's easy to use but havent had a chance yet. Of course my provinces there are hot so it should work fairly nicely in that case I think. |
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Well, you are the big, bad bull in the china shop :)
|
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Look who's getting cocky! And this from a nation that I have basically driven back to it's own original borders.
|
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Well, I make no guarantee's mind you.. But I am at least confident enough that I'm bringing along a few extra arms to carry off your Aegis and all those good artifacts when its over :D:D I'd hate to see it all disappear into the void of nothingness.
But cautious enough that I'm making sure you wont be able to take my province's close by to cut off my retreat should things go 50 turns. So I wouldn't get any idea's about trying that cause it wont turn out well. |
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Oh, does this mean that I get the gate stone back? Great, I was surprised to see it gone from the lab on my last inspection.
|
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
You might. One of us will end up with some extra artifacts hehe. There are ways to counter my attack, but since you havent seen what's coming yet your at the disadvantage here since you wouldnt know for sure what to do ahead of time.
Or maybe this whole thing is just a bluff ROFL :D |
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Well, we will see what happens. At the least, I look forward to some good fights.
And why am I now a lt. general? I used to be a major general. Did I get busted down for cursing too much? |
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Lol was Lt. General supposed to be the upgrade from Major General and whoever created the ranks doesnt realize that LT is lower than Maj? heh who knows..
|
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Hey Psi,
Did your seraph get banished to inferno, or what? I can't tell from the replay. I know he was gone on routing, which suggest he flew away, but he was berserk, so he should not have flown. And my replay shows 2 commanders killed. What's the deal there? |
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Lol I imagine you will have figured it out by the time you read this..
Not a good thing for me though... |
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
yeah, looks like the seraph is dead. Confusing battle replay though.
Good job with the Tarresques though. I don't know how I will ever counter them :) |
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Oh, even better. I see it now. I actually stole your Seraph. Well, that's quite nice.
|
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Wow, I never actually done that before... steal a Seraph. That's badass.
|
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Yeah I was worried that 20 might be a little bit low for his MR but I had forgotten you had those tartarain chains so I didnt think it'd be an issue.
|
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Well its a shame I had to kill the very seraph that I had so lovingly created but I wasnt about to let you Gift of reason him to let him be used against me..
So Long GodSlayer Alas I hardly knew you but you shall still be missed. |
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
And for the record, that bozo tartararin that Cloud trapeezed on top of you was supposed to retreat after the 3rd spell he cast.. but the idiot AI decided to have him continue casting spells for some dumb reason.
|
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Mis-scripting on the Seraph, to my chagrin. It was supposed to retreat.
|
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
That or it ignored your orders like my Tartarain.. I'm pretty certain I didnt goof up and forget to put retreat after the spells I wanted cast but who knows...
|
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Aw, Sept, tsk tsk, going AI before the game is decided (or you literally don't have any units or income left) is bad form, especially for someone that's supposed to be heading up the Noob Educational Board with the NvV series. I'm disappointed. Gotta stick it out til the bitter end, or at least til a winner is decided by concession.
|
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Hey, what's up Avenger? Pow Pow! Take that you rotting hunk of flesh. (Sorry Psi... it was the highlight of my day).
|
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
hehe.. Kinda like stealing your forge of the ancients was the highlight of mine. But hey we've all gotta look for the bright side of everything.
|
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
True, it was sad to lose the Forge. But I don't think any of your globals are safe either, in the coming turns.
Oh, and what nice drop. The Gate Stone. Guess you could wish it back but all those wishes get expensive after a while. |
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Well you said earlier that you really couldn't use the gatestone to any great effect. I'm not in too big of a hurry to get it back though unless I see it is being used to good effect :)
|
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Guys, let me know if you can't get your turns in because of the llamaserver not working, and I'll put an extra 24 hours on.
|
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
A nice turn for the forces of the good and holy, with few losses and a few kills. And, a certain Genie has disappeared. This next turn should be interesting.
|
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Here's a fun fact for you...
Battlefield wide spells like Rain of Stone's dont affect the entire battlefield if you bring a sufficiently large force like I did... Of course if you hadnt stolen my Djinn it probably wouldnt have helped you much either way since my army would have hopefully had Army of Gold assumming the Djinn could have cast it before Rain of Stone's but still stealing him was a good plan. I was hoping perhaps to kill your Rain of stone's commander with Earth attack or at least make him use up any earth gems you may have given him but appearantly you brought another Rain of Stone's commander along. You still caused a good bit of damage. I think it's time I re-examined my approach and give my bane's something a little more potent for dealing with your Tart's and other big bad commanders. I think Damn near half my losses were caused by my own bow's of War in that battle actually. Or at least a pretty good amount of them. |
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Heh, you are still off the charts on armies. I may have had a good turn, but it's still a long, uphill battle.
|
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
Ok, it's turn 100, and the game has been switched to 96 hour host. We can certainly get our turns in earlier, but I want to make sure everyone has time to do these long, complicated turns.
|
Re: MA Newbie game - Faltering_Steps - Running
It doesnt take me long at all to do the turns, but I usually wait to submit it for a while just in case I think of something else. But 96 is good.
