Given that Fishworm died in the water, and that there is a unicorn, are the Manese now trying to create aquatic uniquorns? The Peoples Republic has to prepare for every circrumstance possible! Black Guards, Start training with Snorkels!

Have you considered just raising them all as undead Black Guards? No breathing that way, and you can cut down on food and lodging costs too. Mind you, they do tend to get a bit wiffy in the summer heat, but no-one is perfect.

While we welcome your thoughtfull suggestion, MR9 and Undead is a bad combination.

No response from llama yet. Well, at least I learned a valuable lesson: always set a master password
I happen to be quite busy lately myself, so um...I don't exactly wish to rush anything at this moment :) I can wait at least 'till the end of the weekends if that will be necessary.
At least it can be said now that Heinrich truly lost interest in this game, since he would be all guns blazing here now otherwise.

I am fine with a hiatus as we try to reach llama for ideas on how to solve this. I will be away for a few days this weekend anyways.

I'm pretty sure the best plan is just to announce to all players that Pan has gone into a state of "civil war", declare them fair game for all comers, then stand back and let the carnage commence.

If you have the pretender file, a utility exists to get the password from it.
http://dom3.servegame.com/passrecover.php
Since the pretender itself is definitly stored somewhere on llamaserver, it should be possible to get around the password.

We need llamabeast for that. He is the only one that can pry pretender files from llamaserver :) If this utility works as intended then all we need now is his reply.
I might even have a permanent sub by that time.

We really should get going fast - when one loses touch on the game at hand he loses his interest also.

No response from llama either. The Wednesday hosting time is hereby declared the final hour of Pangaea before it starts boiling in a civil war :)

Once all turns except Pangaea's are in, we shall force host it.

Re: I Need More Power! - yet another MA newbie game - Running

All turns are in, so (based on your comment above) I'm going to force host the game.

May Pangaea's death be swift and yet horribly painful! :-)

Re: I Need More Power! - yet another MA newbie game - Running

it will.
Most Proletarian promise of the Peoples Republic.
So everybody gets to issue attack orders in the next turn?

jimbojones1971 December 6th, 2011 06:26 PM

Re: I Need More Power! - yet another MA newbie game - Running

Just to clarify: if by "the next turn", you mean the current turn (the one that we all just received), then the answer is an unequivocal "heck yeah!".

Or at least, that is my understanding from Lung Drago's posts on the matter. :-)

Anaconda December 6th, 2011 11:17 PM

Re: I Need More Power! - yet another MA newbie game - Running

So, did Pan go AI or just stale

jimbojones1971 December 7th, 2011 02:32 AM

Re: I Need More Power! - yet another MA newbie game - Running

Pan just staled. The player has disappeared, and we couldn't set the country to AI as we didn't have his password :-(

Hence the clunky Civil War thing. With no player, and no AI to even move units, it should be fairly brutal for Pan.

Yes.
The sooner Pan gets wiped, the better for us, since we won't need to manually host the turns any longer. So, don't be shy! Release the hounds! Release the Krakens! Release the Bane Lords! Heck, release whatever you use, just make sure Pan is dead. :D

Re: I Need More Power! - yet another MA newbie game - Running

Necromancy within reasonable limits (only with the consent of the to be reanimated) has long been a staple of the Republic!

There are some concerns about the civil and economic rights of reanimated intelligent beings, and some within the peoples Republic fear that growing numbers of intelligent, voting undead could upset the political system of the Peoples Republic. Others voice the concern considering the risk of scientific stagnation, or overpopulation.
The Peoples Republic is addressing these issues with a large degree of state control of Necromancy, as well as direct democracy elements involved in choosing persons to be reanimated.
While Undead citizens of Ulm enjoy full civil rights, their ecomic rights are a bit limited by a introduction of a fairly high toll tax on undead beings.

OC: Actually, managing a state with sentient undead/sentient revived immortal persons would be quite complicated, and would likely lead to stagnation. A ruling class of undead or future undead is another likely outcome if reanimations are controlled by the state or a ruling class.

What a lovely announcement. Wobbly skeleton men are funny. Except when there are 1000 of them attacking Spottygoose.

You are watching: Ulm News, Fair and Heavy

Fishworm is back!
The Peoples Republic of Ulm has gotten a major recruitment coup as its Tartarian recruitment office acquired the services of no other than Fishworm himself! We now switch over to comrade Field Marshal Zhukov, who has taken a break from bashing Lizards and decerebralising political opponents and is now conducting an interview for Ulm News!

Field Marshal Zhukov: "Greetings Fish Worm, how do you like Ulms most incredible and totally unbiased employment opportunities for Tartarians?"

Fishworm:"I am not Fishworm! No, I am Fishnanny! No, I am Fishworm! No! No, I am Fishworm!

Field Marshall Zhukov:"Did Man or Tien Chi hit your head a lot`?"

Fishworm:"Yes! No! Which head! Both Heads!"

Field Marshall Georgy Zhukov:"While your lower part looks quite Fishwormlike, you appear to have picked up hands, and a humanoid torso and head. How did this happen?

Fishworm: Fishnanny picked up Fishworm Half in Tartarus! No, Fishwormhalf picked up Fishnanny in Tartarus! Fu Fu Fu Fusion!

Field Marshall Zhukov: "And what about your new found magic abilities? From my best knowledge, neither Fishworm nor Fishnanny was very skilled in Fire magic..."

Fishworm:"Fishwormhalf Smart was! Hehe, more Smarter Fishwormhalf indeed it was, other half got back to Fishworm palace and was turned into Sashimi by big 4 armed guy! But more smarter Fishwormhalf stayed in Tartarus and put a Dynamo on Spottygoose! Fishwormhalf got more Fire magic everytime Spottygoose used Tartarian Elevator! Muahahahhaha!

Re: I Need More Power! - yet another MA newbie game - Running

I have even more interesting news!
Just yesterday early in the morning, I marched from the Palace, headed to the marketplace, intending to shop for some shiny new shoes fitting an Emperor. Naturally, I embarked on this voyage this soon so that no random chick could buy them out right in front of my nose.
But, just as I stepped down the last stair of the 555 long Palace staircase, I fell! Suddenly, a biga*s hole in the earth happened over night! I swear on my name I was falling for like an hour! Then I finally hit the bottom of the well and my head and life were over.
"What a mess!", I thought to myself, "Someone is going to pay for this." Then I realized I could think, so that must have meant I was alive at some degree. So, I opened my eyes and I got BLINDED! So many yellow shinies! I landed in a luxurious bed of yellow gems. No, I landed in a city of yellow gems! Right in my backyard, can you believe that?
Oh, down there was some lady too. Earthmother, she called herself? Not really talkative, reminds me of my adviser Barathrus. But in the end it turns out it was Barathrus who introduced me to this rocky lady and she simply invited me over for a cup of tea. Well, she wanted to drink some weird brown stuff at first, but we unsurprisingly settled on a tea once she had her first tasting.
So, I got myself a new friend! I intend to visit her once a month at very least. She said she likes me and will prepare yellow shinies gift for me each time. She is really nice! Except I have a hole in front of my front door now and you cannot really reach the other side unless you fly or teleport. I have comissioned building of a cable-railway over the chasm.

Doesn't change the fact I still need new shoes, though.

Throughout the holiday season I will need extensions on weekends. With Pangaea never coming back, you could just turn off auto-hosting and then manually host every time the turns (sans his) are in.

There were strong winds at my place and I had a shaky internet connection :-/ Kinda wasn't expecting that. I got logged off literally seconds after my last post. Why do such things always happen during key turns?

Ermor is my co-admin, so I take it he can force the turn once he is ready :) 12 hours it is, then.
I got the turn quite close today, but on the bright side, my first, bigger short story ever is finished today. I hope dudes in the literary competition will like it :smirk:

From what I can see, everyone is off pondering Christmas dinner or butterfiles or the like, so we'll extend the turn 48 hours and then see how we are tracking at that point.

Good luck in the story comp, Lung Drago!

Given only one nation (the redoubtable C'tis!) have put in their turn, and it is less than 12 hours until processing, I've put an extra 48 hours on the clock.

We were starting to think that you forgot about us. By the way, did you get the plagues we sent you? We were in the holiday spirit, and thought that is was "better to give than too receive".

(But seriously, take me out already, because Im going away next week)

Na, I'll save the death gems for my last stand. And believe me, I am flattered to be destroyed by overwhelming force.

And yes, yay for raven feast, and for CBM for making it actually usable. I think it's one of the thematically cooler spells.

We'll give Anaconda until 21:24 GMT and then host. That's a 48 hour extension, and from what i can see he isn't in any major wars with other players so a stale shouldn't be too bad for him.
