I am looking for supply items, will trade for DH's or anything Van normally has access to. PM me if your interested.

Re: Anti-Marignon Alliance

I'm too busy to fight Nah right now!

Yeah, I don't think Ulm realized that people actually form treaties and whatnot. His previous game-experience was pretty much being strong-armed by PK into a tribute. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Shmonk February 24th, 2006 12:44 AM

Jotu?

Are we setting Jotu to AI? He's staled the last 4 turns, it's more beneficial to set him to AI. Otherwise its easy pickings for his neighbors to gobble up his territories, and the few who are not his neighbor are not going to benefit from any free territory. At least going AI will be a little more of a challenge for his neighbors.

TheWatcher February 24th, 2006 01:31 AM

Re: Jotu?

I agree with AIing him.

Looks like Abysia's gonna stale this turn as well.

By the way, how go the wars, Shmonk? I hear from Pythium's sub that he is in danger of being dominion killed.

Wish February 24th, 2006 03:40 AM

there are some very strong dominions out there, I am struggling to keep myself afloat as well

more temples need to be built all over the land!

and ya, go ahead and AI jotun. poor tom =(

nihilistic February 24th, 2006 04:48 PM

Re: Jotu?

Is anyone interested in taking over Abysia? Things at the university are extremely hectic and are going to stay that way until April. It is sad to log in and see stale turns..

OG_Gleep February 25th, 2006 02:45 AM

Re: Jotu?

Tom might be coming back soon, and until we find a solution for Abysia, its pointless to change anything. As long as one person is stalling, the whole game is slowed down anyway. The second nihilistic finds a sub though, we should AI Jotun.

PS: Nihilistic, might want to ask the guy subbing for you in the other noob game.

i would like to buy air boosters. as many as you can get me, as soon as you can get them to me. name your price and pm me. i have had trouble finding what i need thus far, so please ask what i can do for you.

OG_Gleep February 25th, 2006 08:35 AM

Re: Jotu?

Awesome, WB Shovah.

Well, that only leaves Jotun. Since we have a replacement for Abysia, I cast my vote to AI them. Would be nice to get the game rolling once again.

P.S: How many votes do we need do you think? And if that threshold is reached, one of us should contact Iron.

shovah February 25th, 2006 09:32 AM

Re: Jotu?

not sure how many votes, but if they are as near dead as people say then just go ai

Wish February 25th, 2006 01:33 PM

Re: Jotu?

yeah, it wont make a huge difference, just that the AI would probably sdtart spending all that stale gold on crap units to defend the castle

exactly, might cause maybe 1-2 casualties though http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif

Re: Jotu?

Most of the thread regulars have cast their vote in favor (Wish I don't know which way you went lol). Abysia looks like its gonna stall this turn. ZeWanker when did you think your going to come in?

*edit*

Looks like right now hehe. He got his turn in while i was posting this =)

ZeWanker February 26th, 2006 01:26 AM

I thought I had till ~1AM EST to get it in...

OG_Gleep February 26th, 2006 11:03 AM

Re: Jotu?

You have till the last second to get it in. Since we were used to seeing Abysia stall, I thought it was going to do so again.

CAELUM!

Man, I hope someone knocks Caelum out before I have to fight False Horrors!

In other news, if anyone wants to buy a winged helmet aka air booster, let me know.

Undead vs. Priests

Well - undead hordes normally don't stand a chance against powerful priests. This could be seen in the last battle. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/fear.gif

So, I am begging for support against Marignon, as I have lost the moment of suprise by now and I will not be able to defeat them on my own. Any help (using or even ) is welcome http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif

Re: The Winnowing (Noob Game) - open

I'm going AI. No provices left and I probably wouldn't survive the next attack by marignon. Since I'm going to be out of town for a bit, there is not point holding you all up. Thanks for the game everyone!

TheWatcher March 1st, 2006 07:28 PM

Re: The Winnowing (Noob Game) - open

Good game Oversway. Hopefully next time we won't get deadlocked early on. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

In the meantime, wars have swept the globe! Nah got the first global spell off as well.

EDIT : The helmet was sold to Marignon, thanks to everyone who responded.

Re: The Winnowing (Noob Game) - open

I'm out, everyone. AoE for the loss.

Good game, but as I thought, I'm really not good enough to play Dominions with 75% of the players in here. Good luck to everyone, but I'm hoping Nah wins: he's been the most helpful neighbour I've had, though I have nothing bad to say about Shmonk either.

Caelum is a crafty one, though! Beware his fibs! And Vanheim is hungry for land, no matter the target http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

I spoze that's why you have to WISH for them eh? heh heh... heh.. uh never mind.

TheWatcher: Don't feel too discouraged... though the people in this game are "n00bs", i get the feeling that most of them are pretty familiar with wargames in general. Feel free to discuss where you think things might have gone wrong, early strategies that bit you in the end, etc. And also there are things that people can hardly control that destroy many players, usually involvling getting rushed at precisely the wrong time, failed alliances, etc.

not blessed. i played base-pyth. i hadn't made any non-mage troops since about turn 10. that was my biggest mistake. definitely not my only, but by far my biggest.

shovah March 2nd, 2006 07:19 PM

Re: The Winnowing (Noob Game) - open

cast, i generally make the same mistake

archaeolept March 2nd, 2006 07:41 PM

Re: The Winnowing (Noob Game) - open

you can't generally go wrong buying as many principe as possible; in the early game at least. etherealize them, back them up w/ a few spamming mages, and enjoy the feeling of victory.

shovah March 3rd, 2006 12:55 PM

Re: The Winnowing (Noob Game) - open

besides the fact that etherealising them means either they have a long march ahead or your mages are near the front

archaeolept March 3rd, 2006 01:58 PM

Re: The Winnowing (Noob Game) - open

a long march isn't a problem. if you're against archers, you'll also want a couple sacrificial arrow catchers.

shovah March 3rd, 2006 03:38 PM

Re: The Winnowing (Noob Game) - open

a long march is a problem if the enemy has a mage or 2 though

man, if you can't adapt to a mage or two and are playing pythium, I don't know what to say.

just saying that a long march being battered by mages who ignore your etherealness isnt good

archaeolept March 3rd, 2006 06:57 PM

Re: The Winnowing (Noob Game) - open

ok, just to be clear - etherealness is not a universal panacea - but the discussion was about troops in the earlygame. rarely is one up against dangerous mages at that time. Personally, i'd probably just throw a few more arrow catchers into the fight even if I were facing some bonus mage...
