Re: Evermore - MegaGame - Started

There are so many things wrong with this thread.

First off, I have NAPs with all my neighbors except Coobe, and my neighbors are already in their own wars, so there is not going to be some sort of general assault on Mictlan.

Second off, Dr. P, strictly speaking it is not very utilitarian of you to get into a long range pissing contest with a nature + blood nation. You're the only one expressing animosity towards our great nation, so it seems logical that you are the one we should retaliate against with Rain of Toads and Horde from Hell. I would also mention that, due to my utterly horrible scales, my capital is already an overheated, slothful, unlucky, death-ridden and draining hell-hole, the very Phoenix AZ of my empire. Ill-omens and Melancholy and the like really won't make it any worse. There are far better places you can hit, places that don't have already have 60 free-spawn slave-warriors sitting on them.

Finally, Coobe, I know you are upset about losing the pretender, but really, these malicious libels are going too far. Think of this game as a growth opportunity, a chance to learn the important lesson that the pretender goes behind the archers, not in front of them. Can't we all just get along? Failing that, can't we all go back to hating on Lanka?

Per the standard rules (and a reminder from a player) we are going to be moving to a 48 hr turn schedule.

Re: Placeholder for new Megagame - Evermore

I dont need your advices. My pretender was supposed to clear out some vine men and not imbalanced triple bless troops.

so long

One of Lanka's large armies have been wiped off the map. You can see clearly in how the evil monkey's score graph has dipped so sharply, probably while even summoning foul undead! 30 of his strongest sacreds perished with only a tiny fraction of black centaurs dying.

More will be destroyed next turn, and the turn after that. The neighbors of EA Lanka are encouraged to rise up against the aggressive threat of these evil monkies. Contact the forest dwellers of LA Pangea to coordinate offensives.

Guys ...

Having decided that monekys are bad, has anyone figured out why LA Mictlan is so far ahead in the score graphs?

I heard it had something to do with a nasty triple bless.

It's over - Miclan is unstoppable. I recommend everyone resign and put their nations on AI... especially those nations that border me.

Hadrian_II October 31st, 2007 06:45 PM

Re: Evermore - MegaGame - Started

Soon the heavy blessed armies will be blasted to peaces by battle magic like fireballs and thunderstrikes. And for a triple bless you have to sacrifice your scales what will do further harm to mictlan.

DrPraetorious October 31st, 2007 09:21 PM

Re: Evermore - MegaGame - Started

OTOH, he has tremendous resources on which to draw, and with smart research allocation he can have fearsome battlemagic of his own - start trading those blood slaves for death casters, oh my!

So reducing him should be a goal for all right-thinking persons everywhere.

The nation of EA Abysia is looking for earth/fire/astral boosters. We would be willing to pay above cost for these items.

Ok, but his scores seem to keep on climbing ...

Who is bordering him now, or just where is he?

AdmiralZhao November 3rd, 2007 01:30 AM

Re: Evermore - MegaGame - Started

Yes, it does indeed keep climbing. The mean reason is that LA Ctis has given up defending his provinces, and hides his armies behind castle walls rather than facing me in the field. So my gains have been rapid in the last few months, but I expect that to slow down as I try to siege out his army of 400+ undead trampling charioteers.

He's in the southeast corner, from which he will launch his conquest of the whole world, if he is not stopped.

hmm.. the status page still correctly has time remaining as 1 day 1 hr... but logging in to the game itself it says 47 hrs... hopefully this discrepancy doesn't herald anything problematic.

Question:
Are you checking/doing your turns all from the same machine?

davegg November 7th, 2007 06:55 PM

yes every turn is from the same machine/dsl etc.

Not sure. One thing you might do before you submit a turn is check the status page - it should show that it is waiting on your turn. Then submit your turn and refresh the page - it should show you submitted.

The webpage just checks for your file to be there - if it sees your turn file it will mark you down as "Turn Complete" between the game and the site you should be able to be confident your turn is submitted.

ok how long does it take for the turn complete page to be updated roughly?>

Thanks for your help!

archaeolept November 7th, 2007 07:15 PM

Re: Evermore - MegaGame - Started

in my experience it is updated almost immediately - you should be able to see right after you submit it whether the server has it or not.

Velusion November 7th, 2007 07:26 PM

Re: Evermore - MegaGame - Started

LA Arco has 21 blood slaves that were taken from a ship. We have no use for these, so we are willing to sell them to the highest bidder. Payment must be in earth gems.

(I guess this makes me a slave trafficker.)

AdmiralZhao November 8th, 2007 05:21 AM

Re: Evermore - MegaGame - Started

The hot new fashion this summer is Earth Boots. I am in the market for a pair, and would pay in gold, gems (water, nature, fire, astral, or earth), or blood slaves. I could also trade a nature or water booster, if you are interested.

hey, tir na n'ogg has been defeated - I believe through the amusing mechanism of dominion kill - and is listed on the status page as defeated.

however, due to game glitchiness, I don't think the game will host until the timer runs out unless someone can use the master pass and set him to AI...

Actually EA Caelum strait up crushed them under the might of their mighty mammoths.

ah ok - but he's still showing up on the nation select screen, indicating the game hasn't fully processed his defeat yet - caelum i think is doing his turn now, so unless someone can set tir na n'ogg to AI we'll have to wait 20 hrs... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
