Re: Turn 60
The streak of misfortune that has fallen Jomon of late has some Jomonese coffee shop intellectuals debating whether Oponn personifies both bad as well as good luck. Teleporting right in front of a massive Pythium wrecking ball, then trying to fall back to a hidden black clinic in Man and getting scalped by Pangean horsies seems to demonstrate that even dieties can stub their toes.

Re: Turn 61
Turn 61 is out. Deadline is Tuesday.
Sorry to read about the fate of the Jomon Pretender. We'll light a candle. |
Re: Turn 61
Announcement from the mighty lord of Ctiss.
I'am please to announce that i reset all my standings with everyone in the game. I have a NAP with quite everyone in the game and at this stage of this game it greatly limit my movement ability, which is not funny. That's why i cancel every NAP i have with everyone in this world, and will not create new in the future. Of course, it does not mean that i will attack everyone. I'am not completely mad ^^. I will stick to the plans i already have with my neighbourgs, but if situation change i do not want to be blocked by obsolete pacts. Of course, that mean that everyone can attack me by surprise. You can try if you dare !!! ^^ ^^ Stelteck, prince of Ctiss. |
Re: Turn 61
After a time of peace, it does appear that Epotara has descended into all-out war.

Can I have my scalp back?

Re: Turn 61
We'll swap you the Ulm capital for it.

Blasphemy! Show some respect for the dead!

Re: Turn 62
Turn 62 is out. Deadline will be FRIDAY because the turn went out late.
Thanks. Pasha |
!!!Jomon News Flash!!!
Pythium now within one point of victory and that point could be coming soon.
Huge 500+ army with Tartarian, Fire Elemental King and Wraithlord, and huge masses of writhing vegetation spotted just outside Utgard (that would be 295). Not sure how this factors into the Pythium-Arcos-Pan "alliance" but someone might be getting bent over... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |
Re: !!!Jomon News Flash!!!
Yes. I'm also wishing for 27 Abominations this turn, with a side order of Air Queens.
Everyone watch out for Pythium, the big scary monster!! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |
Re: !!!Jomon News Flash!!!
Boo Pythium! Boo!
Bad, Evil, Sordid, Smutty, Stinky, Gross, Overweight, Ugly, Oogly-Eyed, Illegitimate, Smarmy, Skanky Pythium. Boo! |

Turn 63
Turn 63 is out.
Deadline is TUESDAY. Sorry for not getting the turn out sooner. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Pasha |
JNN Reports
Jomonese spies inside the walls of Utgard report that Pythium attempted to storm the fortress this past turn. Had he succeeded we'd be congratulating him now on the win, but luckily he was repelled for the time being by Man's graveyard of Tartarians.
However, Jomonese Intelligence Agency reports his massive, scary army has now moved onto Utgard itself and will likely repeat the storm attempt this coming turn. We call upon all sorcerers to draw down whatever powers they can muster to save Utgard! |

Foolish though they may be for bringing the land of Epotara to this pass, surely Pythium does not intend to claim victory through such underhandedness! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/mad.gif |
Re: JNN Reports
Will the stream of anti-Pythium propaganda ever end? Or people's willingness to buy into it ever waver? What will be the next in this finest of entertainment series? That I am in possession of every single one of the elemental royalty and have 5000 of each gem type?
Remember that you are being fed these "news reports" by my greatest enemy... |
Re: JNN Reports
If there is indeed trechery afoot, the Pans will have found a new target for their desire for blood. If not, then ...meh... Men will do nicely.

The Lord of Pangaea has yet to read the scout reports on the latest developments. Too much revelry, bodypainting, assorted nudity and merriment. We will comment with more certainty after work.

Re: JNN Reports
Pythium is as slippery as the swamp snakes he employs (and we in Jomon say that with the utmost of respect for his wily veteran ways). http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
Read closely Epotarans and see if you can find a denial amidst his worm tongue remarks. Even though Oponn might be lying scalpless, fertilizaing a Pangean vine ogre nursery, we in Jomon seek to fight on. Rise up we say, cast away thy veils of blindness and smite down the serpent devil while there is still time!!! And why don't we just ask the elusive Lord of Man who once was the most prosperous and advanced of all of our nations? OT: Great song - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7loLxor-Hsg |
Re: JNN Reports
Indeed, Pythium has made a claim on Utgard and currently has a force of 500 troops at its crumbled gates, plus 200 or so marching in the mountains nearby.
The Pans very much longed to erect many oddly phallic shrines there and sacrifice enemy warriors, chickens and herrings in devotions to their pretender god. We do not take the attempt to steal our agreed war prize lightly, and will be seeking retribution on the field of war. |
Re: JNN Reports
What?? Has the whole world gone mad with anti-Pythium fever that even my allies now succumb to it? This is a dark day indeed! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/fear.gif
While the council of Pythium normally takes a position of ignoring propaganda, we will make an exception due to the severity of these claims. The High Commitee of Army Seige Affairs has been formed that will now begin an immediate investiagtion of these claims leveled against us. The truth will be known soon enough! |
Wormtongue!
Silence, Wormtongue! You shall not use your trickery here, Ironhawk. The sun shines so we can clearly witness your dastardly nature! Your voice seeks to soothe while your hands are working overtime.

Re: Wormtongue!
Hahah, nice Pasha. You know I always love your propaganda posts http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smirk.gif
So, I imagine many people are planning on casting remote attacks this turn. But you should be aware that, if cast by a third party, such spells randomly target either the seiger or the seigee. There's no way to force it to target one particular army. The only people who can safely cast into a seige situation are the two players involved in it. I considered keeping this fact to myself for sheer amusment value http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif ...but eventually I felt obligated as an experienced player to point it out. Feel free to test it yourself. |
Re: Wormtongue!
Blast them both to pieces so I can take the city for the glory of Pangaea!!
|
Pythium Wins!
Congratulations, Ironhawk!
You're a Winner! |
Re: Pythium Wins!
GG All. Learnt lots, cheers.
A cornered Pythium will strike out suddenly and decisively in any direction to make it through alive, it seems. Being Australian (home to the deadliest snakes in the world) I should have had a better appreciation of this when the world declared war a few turns ago. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Not that I would have realistically deflected that Tartarian-infested army, anyways. Thanks for hosting, Pasha! |
Re: Pythium Wins!
Wow! when I received the turn file i wasnt expecting THAT! Great job Ironhawk! I learned a lot in this game and Im glad I subbed in. I did not win or was I on top but I had a good war and IT was entertaining. Thanks all for the fun. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Re: Pythium Wins!
Congratulations, IH. While I appreciated I was dealing with a deadly snake, I could do little to stop him.
Wraps up the last of series of games I started as a pure noob, 2 weeks after buying the game back in Oct 07. Learned a lot and enjoyed playing with you all. Thanks for hosting Pasha. |
Re: Pythium Wins!
Thanks for playing, All. I had a lot of fun sailing around the ocean.
Dang it! My big army just needed one more turn to reach Utgard! |
Re: Pythium Wins!
Me too LOL

Hehehehe! Man am I glad that worked!! I literally had nothing else up my sleeve if that failed. While there was plenty of propaganda going around there at the end - believe it or not - I had not intended on taking Utgard at the start of the war. I'd hoped to defeat Man quickly in a combined offensive and then declare war on another nation to get my last VP. However when the war dragged on and (I'm not kidding) every other nation declared war on me I knew I had no choice left. Apologies to Wok for the double-cross, tho I think he understood my reasons. Great game tho guys, I had a ton of fun! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif I went into this game thinking that I was absolutely going to lose. LA Pyth seemed like a really, really awkward nation and I didnt have any kind of plan. But with a lot of work and a good helping of luck I managed to cobble together a solid strategy out of it. After this game I think that LA Pyth could be a contender among LA nations. As you could see from my gem and research graphs its a really solid end game nation with huge magic diversity. Those last couple of turns were some of the most fun I've had in any game - thanks again guys http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Trying to keep all my enemies off balance for literally (as Pasha and Wok can atest) just one more turn was a diplomatic whirlwind! Never played a game where one single turn would decide the life or death of my entire nation - crazy! And then after I submitted there were like 5 delays! I practically had a heart attack every time I opened my email this week heheheh. Special thanks to Wokeye and Aristander for being such solid allies. Also to DonC for tolerating my emotional rant. And of course to Pasha for hosting! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |
Re: Pythium Wins!
Thanks for hosting Pasha, and congratulations IH on a game well played.

Re: Pythium Wins!
What, no props for the subbing Ironhawk? I'm hurt.
|
Re: Pythium Wins!
No slight intended my friend. As I recall IH came back to find that he was one more VP closer to victory due to your efforts. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
