As far as I am concerned, I am OK with the Admiral getting wings while still having his feet wet. Both nations have different geopolitics.

I am ok with this on one condition. Caelium is currently only separated from me by a single province (which given the nature of Caelium is really no separation at all). My condition is that there is no war between a Caelium under Admiral Aorta and myself until at least two turns after I finish off LA Atlantis (I really don't want war with Caelium at all, but that much time at least to reorganize my forces and make Admiral's knowledge of my dispositions from his time as LA Atlantis obsolete in the event of war).

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

the thing is though. You can this way postpone war forever potentially. I say if there are 2 provinces left you get 10 turns or something like that without being attacked. Otherwise you can just sit on top of a castle and thus remain in peace forever.

Admiral_Aorta August 28th, 2011 05:49 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

I wouldn't attack anyone until I knew exactly how stromg Caelum is,what agreements I have with my neighbors and everything else.

Numahr August 28th, 2011 05:59 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

In any case, as an immediate neighbor of Caelum, I would like a decision be made quickly so that I know how to handle my relations with that nation. For the time being, I took the decision to just ignore it, but it is not a sustainable option.

I'm finishing him off as fast as I can. Really, Caelium isn't in a good position to wage war on me... I just don't want to fight someone who can coordinate on two fronts and already knows what my dispositions are. I don't think that is unfair. What will be the last castle is underwater, which may drag things out a couple of turns, but I've also got a fair amount of magical items that let me go underwater, so not too many.

bbz August 29th, 2011 04:27 AM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

yea I agree with that if you are finishing him off asap.:)

Admiral_Aorta August 29th, 2011 06:45 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Well I have just one fort left underwater, so if I'm going to take control of Caelum it should probably be soon.

lwarmonger August 29th, 2011 08:11 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

I'm fine with now if everyone else is, whether you set Atlantis to AI or not. I know you don't have much of anything in that one fort anyways... it is only a matter of me pushing troops underwater to deal with it.... it will take time, but not much time.

Admiral_Aorta August 30th, 2011 04:43 AM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Caelum doesn't have a password set, so if there's no objection I'll take over for them.

Admiral_Aorta August 30th, 2011 05:38 AM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

I've also set atlantis to AI.

iRFNA August 30th, 2011 07:17 AM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Speaking of setting people to AI, I'm going to set EA ermor to AI as well. Is any other nation in a permastale?

Numahr August 30th, 2011 07:26 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

So what is happening with Jomon? It should be set AI rather than left on serial staling. Then I have the feeling Ryleh staled last turn (correct me if I'm wrong), but it may be occasional.

iRFNA August 30th, 2011 10:48 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Ok, so jomon is definitely staling too? I'll AI them as well

lwarmonger September 1st, 2011 11:54 AM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

You sure you don't want to take one of these staling nations? You look like you are on your last legs.

Numahr September 2nd, 2011 01:18 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

3 hours left from hosting and R'lyeh is staling for the 3rd time at least, and Jomon since who knows when.

I guess Man's turn will be received soon (?) or it should enter in the nations in need of monitoring, too.

iRFNA September 2nd, 2011 01:40 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Nah, I'm around. Sadly, setting two people to AI made the game mad at me, so my turn didn't go in last time.

It didn't set jomon to AI, either. Hmm.. Can I set one person to AI and still have my turn go in?

wonderloss September 2nd, 2011 03:09 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Only one turn per CD-key will be accepted.

I can PM you my email address. If you can get it switched in the next 3 hours, I can switch one to AI for you.

Admiral_Aorta September 4th, 2011 03:34 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

21 minutes to go and R'lyeh hasn't played his turn, he's definitely staling.

iRFNA September 4th, 2011 03:50 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

ya, i might have to have wonderloss AI him

Numahr September 4th, 2011 08:17 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

I still advocate that it is worth trying to find a sub rather than setting nations AI. Especially that R'lyeh is not a dead cause.

Admiral_Aorta September 4th, 2011 08:21 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

It's probably worth a shot, but it might hold the game up further.

iRFNA September 4th, 2011 09:09 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

ya, it seems we'll lose more people if there is a delay for finding a sub

Numahr September 9th, 2011 06:36 AM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

So if don't look for a sub, then we should set Rl AI...

wonderloss September 9th, 2011 09:24 AM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Send me a PM if you need me to set another nation AI.

Admiral_Aorta September 10th, 2011 06:11 AM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Remember to take your turn, Shinuyama.

Numahr September 16th, 2011 06:02 AM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Sorry guys I've missed the last turn, no big harm for anyone anyway. Just confirming I'm still here :-)

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

I'm going to have to start looking for a permanent sub. I'll be going into a pretty intense training cycle this coming Monday which will see me away from internet for about 6 weeks. I already PM'd the last guy who subbed for me temporarily, no response. iRFNA, if you want MA Ulm its yours. You'd inherit a pretty decent position I think.

Will do, on it now.

Mightypeon September 24th, 2011 03:11 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

While LWarmonger did put Ulm in an incredibly good situation, I have the feeling that the Micro involved would be overwhelming for me.

Nevertheless, this is likely one of the best subbing positions ever advertised on this forums.

Admiral_Aorta September 24th, 2011 09:28 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Caelum is looking for fire and astral gems! We can trade lots of air gems and also some water, earth, nature and death.

lwarmonger September 26th, 2011 12:38 AM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Alright gents, well I am out. Nobody has come up on the net as a for sure sub. So if you can't convince mightypeon to take my nation, and if iRFNA doesn't want it I guess you'll have to set me to AI. Good game everyone.

Numahr September 26th, 2011 05:02 AM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

OK guys this time we cannot put Ulm on AI or this game does not make sense any more. Let us find a sub for this nation, even if it means postponing the game some time.

The whole point of our end game would be gone without a human Ulm.

Admiral_Aorta September 26th, 2011 05:05 AM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Yeah AI Ulm is a terrible idea and would probably kill the game better than a slight delay. I think all of us are fairly intent on staying to the end anyway, so we'll just have to find a sub.

iRFNA September 26th, 2011 05:09 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Looks like Scaramuccia is up for it, I'll have gandalf take off the timer to get things setup real quick.

Mightypeon September 26th, 2011 06:13 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Thats great. I could at most temp sub since I have some serious real life commitments coming up soon.

Numahr September 27th, 2011 03:02 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Welcome on board Scaramuccia! Glad you joined us.

iRFNA September 29th, 2011 01:05 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Ok, looks like we're ready, emailed gandalf to put the timer back up

bbz September 30th, 2011 07:43 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

So i'd like to find a sub.
Also for the new guy i'd like you to remove my current password since i dont know if there is a way of chaning it.
I am really sorry but i have to go away from dominions due to rl reasons. You have all been a great sport:) and thanks for the game

Numahr October 1st, 2011 08:05 AM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

So I'm the only one left of the original players... :(
(well technically IRFNA's Man is still here)

bbz October 1st, 2011 08:08 AM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

yea sorry about that i really need some time off games:) but hey ill inform the guy that comes into play about my strategies plans and any diplomacy i had;).

iRFNA October 1st, 2011 11:29 AM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Well, you could post a description of how things are going for the sub thread. Or if you make the thread yourself, it would be much appreciated.

Numahr October 1st, 2011 12:10 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

iRFNA, please postpone hosting until a sub is found. Let's hope one is found.

Admiral_Aorta October 1st, 2011 04:56 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

I'm also an original player, just controlling a different nation than I started with.

Numahr October 1st, 2011 05:40 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

Correct Admiral! I had this feeling because all my neighbors changed in leadership at least one, sometimes more, except for Man that I contributed to annihilate...

Actually it happens in all my games. Sometimes you design a whole strategy around your diplomacy and this fires back on you. Once I even let an ally forge key artifacts to confirm friendship and 3 turns later leadership changes and I get a DoW nonetheless! In an other game my trustworthy ally, whose border I did not garrison while committing to a war far away, suddenly attacks me in full strength after being turned AI... So betrayal set apart, one should always expect anything from anyone...

At least the First and Last Emperor of Shinumaya remains true to His Words in this chaotic world! I think this in itself is a mark of godhood :angel

Numahr October 21st, 2011 05:05 AM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

OK guys I suggest we declare this game ended and concede victory to Ulm. If it starts again, I wont have much time because I have joined another game. Beside, Ulm played well, and I'd rather concede victory and make a clean conclusion, than have the game in a never-ending coma. Even though all my game was focused on defeating Ulm.

Admiral_Aorta October 21st, 2011 04:50 PM

Re: SeaOfInnocence - All ages newb game

I was really looking forward to actually fighting Ulm, but we may have to concede since an AI marverni isn't really an option.
