So called "plague prevention"

I am playing AIC mod, simul. turns. My home system has Biomed facility III - "prevents plague in the system" up to level 3 according to facilities.txt (no errors there, I checked it many times). News flash - bio disaster - Plague level II on one of my planets http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/shock.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/shock.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif - OK, may be it will be cured before actual damage. Wrong ! Next turn, my colony is dead http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon8.gif Apparently, in simult. turns, plague ALWAYS can make one turn of the damage REGARDLESS of "plague - prevention" facilities <- what a crap http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon8.gif

Yeah... I suggest changing the description to "cures plagues". http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif The scientists obviously need a month to work out the cure to the diseases.

Re: So called "plague prevention"

To his credit, JLS uses description "plahue-cured" for facility http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif . What we must really do is ask MM to fix the actual "ability" description. "plague - prevention" is plainly wrong. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif

BTW, 30 turns later my other planet was targeted by plague II. It had ~200m people (HUGE number for proporyions' type colony ! ) and I was afraid they all will expire. No, "only" 58M people die http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif So now I am still confused how much damage plagues do.

Hey GW was it you that supplied that amusing LotR parody with the cats-for-orks/dogs-for-elves quote?

Of course. Isn't the connection obvious? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

EDIT - great truths are worth repeating...

"Do you know how cats came into being? They were dogs, once. Then they were captured by the Dark Powers. Tortured, and mutilated. A ruined, and horrible form of life!"

Saruman, in the Fellowship of the Ring movie. The origin of orcs is found in The Silmarillion, I believe.
