a really big company with marketing people would release a demo before the game.

A small company tends to keep the programmers working on the 400 things can still be improved. THEN chop out a few parts to release the demo. The problem is that when programmers make decisions they will wait till the game is done before cutting out a demo.

Even worse, Illwinter has us! These forums. Unless we all shut up and stop giving such good ideas to the programmers IT WILL NEVER BE DONE ENOUGH TO DEMO. It will be... "well then things slow down enough for one of us to have some free time then we will cut a demo"

(about that shut up part... Im really only half serious)

About shutting up...

There has been some "funny" updates after some threads either here or in the usenet Groups...

For instance, in usenet there was this thread "Suggest new magic sites" and few days later there was an update "added many new magic sites" and "new magic site ability: heal people"(someone there suggested a healing magic site).

Few people here were unhappy about depixelated sprites, IW added first depix filter and later they made Dom II draw the combat sprites twice as large in order to reduce pixelation.

The final Gold load is being tested on as we speak (I believe so, but hey there are so many things going on right now it's crazy http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif ). As soon as it is certified (which means we receive the CD and certify it) we will begin the process to testing the final Gold demo. The demo must be tested, after the game goes gold, before we'll release it to the public. At the rate things have been going I expect that we will release a demo prior to the game shipping. I can't give you an exact date as of yet.
