Tip of the day!: Forge Bonus *FALSE*
[FALSE]Forge Bonuses lets you forge things for less! Now, you might be thinking this is obvious, but what you didn't know it that constructing creatures from the construction path is also effected by the forge bonus.[/FALSE]

Re: Tip of the day!: Forge Bonus *FALSE*
Do forge bonuses from items also work? That would be quite a bonus on whole Construction...

In all cases the price remained constant, 30 astral gems were removed from my pool. Likewise, the price of mechanical men remained 12 earth gems no matter which combination of dwarven hammer and Forge of the Ancients I tried. Then, for verification, I started up a new game as a T'ien C'hi Cyclops, and I did not receive any reduction in gem cost when casting Crusher Construction while wielding the Dwarven Hammer. And to make absolutely certain that it was not an inherent forge bonus that did the trick, I started an Ulm game, and I did not receive any reduction in cost when casting Crusher Construction or Clockwork Horrors with the Master Smiths. Thus I cannot verify your observation. It fails all the tests I have subjected it to, and it must be considered a false and misleading statement until such time as you can produce a reproducible example. Since I would hate to believe that you were deliberately lying just to gratify your own sense of humour, which would make you a low and despicable person indeed, would you care to elaborate under which circumstances, exactly, you have managed to use the forge bonus to reduce ritual costs within the construction path? I am always ready to learn a new trick. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif [ March 16, 2004, 19:16: Message edited by: Peter Ebbesen ] |
Re: Tip of the day!: Forge Bonus *FALSE*
omg, well I'd have to test it another time again but right now I don't have time. I was using the Cyclopse Hammer or whatever it's called (50% forge bonus... or did it say construction bonus?) Anyway, all I know is that with that hammer I could forge thistle maces at 5 gems and mandragoras at 5 gems.

Re: Tip of the day!: Forge Bonus *FALSE*
It's possible he was at a site which granted a Construction bonus, which WOULD reduce the cost of construction rituals, and also happens to reduce the cost of item forging.
