DoGA part converter complete!
http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/thr...?Number=290144
Converts from .OBJ to .SUF so you can model things in Wings or any other modeller which exports to .OBJ, and export into .SUF for use with DoGA! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/cool.gif |

BTW, any feedback - does it actually work for anyone's models? I only tested it on a cube... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif Oh, one thing I forgot to mention - you have to have the materials in your .OBJ file set to valid DoGA attribute names (see the list in the DoGA part converter), otherwise you just get all black for that material... hey, at least DoGA's smart enough to do that and not just crash http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif |
Re: DoGA part converter complete!
Ok...I know I'm a dope...and I could probably figure it out...but...
What is the best procedure to install parts files to DOGA? And I guess while I'm on the subject of DoGA... What kind of file does it save? What do I need to do to convert it to a bmp or gif or jpeg to use it for SE, and I assume I can use paint or some similar program to color the object? I didn't see anything inside of DoGA to color the object or parts... Kana |
Re: DoGA part converter complete!
Once you have a part, all you have to do to use it is go to the Part menu and select "Add from File" and pick the .SUF file you want...
DoGA can write BMP files if you tell it to render to file, I think; I don't remember how to do that right now. To change the color of a part, select it and double click on the colored rectangle near the lower left corner of the screen with some sort of generic description (I think it's "material1") and you get a wealth of color and texture objects - you can even make translucent and anime shaded objects! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/eek.gif If you want multiple colors on different parts, you'll need to add a new material; I think there's a button near the lower right that lets you do that. (Sorry, I don't have DoGA with me at the moment so I can't look more closely at it.) |
Re: DoGA part converter complete!
What about the whole catalog thing, and being able to preview the parts....?
