Newish Questions

Hello.

Searching & Zen's Link Thread answered some of my questions, but not these...

1.If you shapechange you lose item slots which force items to drop into the lab. What happens to the items if you shapechange in battle?

2.If Lamassu (Snake Queen) has TwiceBorn cast & dies is TwiceBorn activated before her Death=Snake shapechange or after her snake form dies? Would TwiceBorn work on an Immortal?

3.If an immortal dies with items does he keep his items or does the enemy win them?

4.Is the Lifelong Blood Contract exclusive to the user or can it be passed around or acquired/used from an enemy once the character is killed in a battle lost? Same goes for 'eye' and 'heart' items.

5.I noticed wearing 2 Fetishes don't give 2 gems per turn. Are there any items that stack their bonuses?

6.I have a hero with Valor now providing a Standard (+35), but is fragile with low life. If he turns into a beast from the Lycanthropy amulet will he lose anything (magic skills or item slots or his Standard)?

7.Have any of the patches changed what the starting cales did initially or is the manual roughly correct?

Bloody questions

8.Is it better to have high level blood mages do the sacrafices for better domination or does that only apply for the blood hunts?

9.Does anyone have the numbers/formulas for how blood hunt success/quantity is determined, as in will a L5 Blood Mage bring in ~5x the blood slaves than a L1 Blood Mage? How much more helpful is a blood rod (25%? 50%?)? I'm assuming total blood level and not base blood level is used.

10.Besides Construction research what determines which items a character can forge? The total mage level in a skill or base mage level without items or original birth level?

11.Do Enliven Statues work for spreading Mactlin dominion or are sacrifices, prophet & God the only way? Statues would help ease the micromangement burden some.

Thanks.

They can all be passed around I think.

Stacking weapons seem to work, but no misc items stack at all now.

Depends on what you need. High level blood mages can sacrifice more slaves per turn, and each slave generates a temple check and you are limited to one priest sacrificing per temple. If you want a big dominion push very quickly, high level blood is good.

Current magic paths determines what can be forged, though Forge of the Ancients changes the rules.

Heh? What do you mean? And I think Mictlan's prophet does not spread dominion.

I believe he's thinking of those telestatic animates - the rocks w/ holy 3. they could blood sacrifice, but nothing can just preach for mictlan.

Shapechanging does not cause items to drop into the lab. They remain on the shapechanger, but aren't accessable until they shapechange back into the other forms.

It's just like with any other commander dying with items - some may be picked up by the commanders of whichever side won the battle, with cursed items and unique artifacts being more likely to be found / picked up.

Can't be passed around, but I believe it can be picked up if the holder dies in battle.

The mages total, current magic skills - it's very common to put magic boosting items on a mage in order to forge more difficult items. (And if your nation has Forge of the Ancients up, all your mages are treated as though they had one extra level in all areas of magic, even if they previously had none in an area.)

Enliven statues creates combat units - I think you mean the Telestic Animation spell. I suspect it doesn't help, since the resulting TA simply has Priest/Holy-3, but preaching simply doesn't help Mictlan's dominion. Not sure, since I haven't played Mictlan.

one exception to this I've noticed, which is probably a bug, is that if my dragon shapechanges to human form his hat falls off http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif

Eyes, hearts and contracts are all cursed and cannot be removed without killing the bearer.

Blood magic skill makes no difference whatsoever for sacrificing blood slaves. Priest skill is what matters. An Anathemant Dragon can sacrifice 4 slaves per turn.

Oops, wrong answers. But with the cursed item bearing thing, I did mean that they would get passed around if the original bearer dies.

One thing about blood sacrificing:

You should put a jade knife on every priest who is sacrificing. The Mictlan national nature mage can build the knives at construction level 2. The jade knife allows the priest to sacrifice two additional slaves, thus making your precious temples work harder for you.

You sure? I've been using Lamia Queens' shapechanging ability to get cursed items off them. Specifically give Armour of Twisting Thorns (or something, the blood/nature bonus armour) to one, have her cast spells you need, shapechange her into a snake (in province with a lab), ta-da, the cursed item is in the lab. Works like a charm also with cursed weapons.

I have had commanders that shapechange in combat lose their items. Or at leat I think I have. After the first time it happened, I started being pretty careful not to let it happen again. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
