Space Above & Beyond On DVD

I didn't see this mentioned any where so I thought I would promote it. Space Above and Beyond is now on DVD. All 23 episodes are on 3 double sided DVD disks. (Ya double sided)

I was never able to watch the series when it was on FOX so this was a real treat to find yestarday. It only cost $40.00 US and so far it reminds me a lot of BSG, except even cheaper. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

I enjoyed the series immensely (and recorded it on VHS). It was in the timeslot after NFL games - read "inconsistent showtimes".

One episode had the assassination of a political figure within hours of Israel's PM getting assassinated, which was unfortunate as well.

I recommend it, all the SFX are CGI. But, the characters are great fun.

Now... GO KILL SOME CHIGS!!

The 58th Wildcards will ride again!

The CGI is not bad ala B5 era. I think they also coined the phrase that was later made famous in Star Trek. "Today is a good day to die."

I hope you mean die. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Wasn't that from one of the Trek movies first? ST:VI I think, seems the kind of thing the crazy bald Klingon general would have said.

That would be him. (Damn heat-seeking torpedo's!) Which wouldn't work either, since there's very little matter in space to actually transmit the heat that the torpedo would be "seeing".

Zwuh?
Heat-seeking weapons rely on infra-red glows, not temperature differentials in the atmosphere. "Seeing", not "touch".

Trying to follow conducted heat would be even harder than trying to follow the scent of burnt jet fuel.

I wonder why ST torpedo's don't seek in the first place?

I was IMHO a fairly good scifi show...as far as the characters were concerned...it waas alot like Aliens meets Starship Troopers...and the special effects were a bit lame...but I was upset to see it go so early...

Because ST uses nothing but bad science?
