Most experience points in -one- pbw game
Even though i know experience is just a gimmick, lets compare our experience points (race age) aquired within -one- game. To make for good comparision, proportions shouldnt be included, only games/mods which allow for roughly as fast progression as stock does.
My best is a devnull mod game, high tech cost, 3 planets medium start, lasting for about 1,5 years with usually 2 turns per week. Unfortunally i deleted the modfolder just days ago, but i had 17 ringworlds, 620 colonies, 240 million population (+20% racial modifer http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif ) and more stuff, overall i had 425.000 experience points http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif My best result, by far. |

Re: Most experience points in -one- pbw game
Well, I guess most people don't check their experience points. I only have one figure at hand right now:
In my last 1vs1 game with Geoschmo, my score went up by about 150,000 experience points, quite a lot given that there were only the two of us. The game happened in a galaxy with perhaps 70 systems, and dense FQM by the looks of it. There was no Warp Openers/Closers, and Geo's fleets performed a lot better than my own, so the game ended up with my Empire overwhelming him with sheer numbers. At the end of the game (the turn before his surrender, on turn 71), I had 2 million resources and 850,000 research points, for 450 colonies and 500 ships, so that's what 150,000 experience points is worth. If you want really high values, I guess you should check any of the NGC games: Joachim in NGC5 must have had a much higher number of experience points at the end of that game. |
Re: Most experience points in -one- pbw game
In the demo, I once got 2,000,000 experience points. But that was due to an as-of-then unresolved experience bug that would shoot you up to the max experience given the right conditions. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif Actually, that may have been a classic game where that bug was still around, not sure...
However, my highest number of experience points aquired normally and fairly is 509,892 in the Return to Hell 2 PBW game. Turns haven't executed in about 2 months now, but I'm hoping this game isn't dead. I have about 5000 ships, a dozen sphereworlds, 120 or so colonies, a few thousand bases, large population, and a bunch more stuff I can't remember right now http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif 509k! |
Re: Most experience points in -one- pbw game
The race I use has just over 1 million experience points. It just recently went Ancient. I use it in every solo game I play and save the empire just after getting a win. When starting a new game, I use this race and if needed, modify it to fit the rules. The EX starts at where it left off. You got half that in one game? It took me over 50. Hats off to you.
And no, I still can't see all the stars at the start. |
Re: Most experience points in -one- pbw game
I'm not exactly sure how I got that many. It's odd, because I've never come close to that total in a single game before. Possibly it's simply due to the massive scope of the game in question.

Re: Most experience points in -one- pbw game
You get experience for every ship constructed, something like 10% of the tonnage of the ship.

Re: Most experience points in -one- pbw game
That would account for it. 2000 base space yards alone would give 100k. Not to mention all the baseships...

Re: Most experience points in -one- pbw game
I haven't been paying much attention to the race experience score, but I know that in at least one game I made it to Ancients.
According to this thread the race ages go like this: Quote:

Re: Most experience points in -one- pbw game
The poster of that thread missed one in the first post, but corrected it later - 400,000,001 First Ones.
