question on SEV design

Hi

I have 2 questions I am hoping you may be able to tell under NDA, it is basically reguarding the screenshots I have seen,

1) Planet Facilities, Is this SE classic style where you can only place a maximum per planet, or can you actually do this IG style where you can have as many as you can fit?

2) Ship Designs, I know that you have to place components on a actual ship, and from what I have seen, there is ample space for anything you can fit in the space but is it SE4 style or Starfury style, can you have as many weapons as can fit in the design, or are there seporate weapon bays?

Thanks, and if this does violate NDA, I understand and feel free not to answer, as I cant play, I just want to know a few things!!!

Its all quite NDAed.

I suggest inspecting the screenshot closely, paying attention to what the slots are labelled and what they are not labelled.

Your first question is a bit odd. If you can add as many as you can fit, that would be a maximum, would it not?

I understand that, but I was sort of wondering if it had any affect on combat, for example on IG, you could have as many as you can fit, and I always tried to do it so in a attack, my good buildings where protected by other buildings around them e.t.c. and just fill up the planet with fillers.

I was just wondering if on SEV you were limited to X and could fit them wherever you want, or if you could actually have unlimited...

ahh its hard to explain what I am thinking! but basically by saying what you said, I am guessing it is as many as you can fit!

and I am looking closer at screenshots now!

NDA means Non Disclosure Agreement.

That means that we cannot discuss any aspect of SEV other than what Malfador has made public.

I would recommend that you contact Malfador directly with your questions. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

All I see on the picture

http://www.malfador.com/SE5scr012.htm

is that as I said, the hull is at 150/200 and there is free space, so there is enough room for practically anything, And I guess you are limited, in bays, no idea what A or O stand for http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

I just want to play, you are a lucky ba*tard, sorry, just getting a little impatient for the release... BTW, any update to when that will be, anyone know if it will be pre christmas?

Look close at the screenshots, and you should be able to figure out a lot.

PS: My comment on your question had nothing to do with the game. I was just saying that your question was a bit odd in that it seemed to imply that "as many as you can fit" is not a limit/maximum.

I know what NDA is, but from what I read in the other thread, I thought that this NDA was mainly just dont say about the bugs and stuff, well I would of known if I got selected to sign one! lol

anyway, late enough (UK) im going to bed!

Sorry if I gave you the wrong impression there. The NDA does not say "bugs", it says "flaws". As such, possible design flaws are covered. Even such simple things as dividing ships into sections or positioning the system map on the left side of the screen instead of the right could conceivably be considered flaws by some people, and are therefore off limits.

/me starts massive smear campaign against SE5 http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/evil.gif... because of the NDA none of the beta testers can refute me... sure, SFI can sue, but what will they get out of ME? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif
