Lost CD, but do have manual and key.

I apparently lost my D3 CD during a move, and noticed only now when I wanted to install the game on a Linux box (it was on a Windows system previously, so I had not noticed before that the CD was MIA). I have the manual with the CD key, just no install medium. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Is there a way to download an ISO of the CD? Since I lack a credit card and am in Europe (bought D3 at a German Linux store), I'm not sure if there is another way, sadly.

Hopefully you won't go and download a version from some pirate website, because although that would work and there are apparently several copies out there on torrent sites and whatnot, it would be morally wrong :]

What Taqwus said. Contact Shrapnel tech support.

My concern would be whether the images are clean. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

My concern is that this sort of talk is the type that gets users banned from here unless they actually take a [censored] hint and do as they are told, namely contact Shrapnel tech support. Consider this your first formal warning.

I'm also going to note that I'm not in the habit of issuing formal warnings, so this is the only one you're going to get and the next step will be explaining yourself to the admins.

Gee, thanks for the friendly tone. I was obviously not looking for anything illegal, or I would have hardly asked here. If you want a photo of my manual, you are certainly welcome to it. I will "actually take a [censored] hint" and send a support ticket, and remember the remarkable and customer-oriented response from a moderator on the official boards of the company whose product I purchased for sixty Euro. (A sale that Gandalf's usenet posts were responsible for.) Perhaps I will encounter more professionalism.

I think Edi's just a bit touchy because an issue similar to this has come up before, and it resulted in the banning of someone because they downloaded an illegal ISO.. I think.

Re: Open a support ticket.

*nods* I submitted a support ticket. Like I said, I have a CD key (printed in the manual) and an invoice of the vendor I purchased the game from. I didn't think that people might come here to actually ask for anything illegal, but if there had been problems before, this might have been a bit of a deja vu. Anyway, long night, time for some sleep -- skin gets thin when the eye lids get heavy http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif.

This topic is troulesome in many respects and is dangerously close to the issues of piracy, key generators etc listed in section 6 of the Board Rules that it makes red flags go up, even though your purchase is legal.

My apologies for having been harsher than was warranted. I've had too little sleep, but that is really no excuse. I do hope that we can get to know each other on the forums on a more positive note.

You most certainly will, seeing as how I managed to screw up above. Again, sorry for the unwarranted harshness.
