CTD when trying to start a new game :(

I get a CTD when i'm clickling in game's menu on "Create a New Game" http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

Also, when that happens i get this error message:

What's wrong ? How do i avoid this ?

All of the additional nation mods + few others.

Is there some max limit of mod number ?

Yes. It was increased for 3.14, so it'd be nice to know how many sprites will cause a crash. Could you list the mods you have enabled when it crashes?

Does it mean bug is caused by a single mod with too many sprites ?

I didn't run mods that change game core balance, as i usually don't use such mods.

But i did used every mod that adds new stuff http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I'm pretty sure its the total number of mod sprites, not sprites in a single mod.
Also alot of those nations probably have the same nation numbers, which could cause problems.

So it means i need to open each .dm with notepad and change tos numbers, right ?

Ok, i dunno for what exactly to look for in the .dm files and they seem to differ too much from each other, so i'll better not mess with them.

The thing to change would be

#selectnation 72

to anything between that and

#selectnation 99.

Each nation slot can only be used by one nation at a time. You might have to make it so only nation mods of one era are selected at a time. It takes a bit of work to change it between games, but that'd probaby keep you from going over the sprite limit, and I think there are now enough nation numbers to have all of a era enabled at once.

Can a shortcut enable mods for the preferences screen?I know they can be enabled for the purpose of creating a new game, but what about just enabling them?
