Re: New Bug (and its symptoms)
Really weird bug, effeDom. Could there be some conflict between the version of mouse driver you're using, and the version the Devs intended the latest patch for? Maybe try updating your drivers?

Re: New Bug (and its symptoms)
I actually seem to remember that happening with Warlords 3, about a million years ago. It's always comforting when people share the same bug, I find.

Re: New Bug (and its symptoms)
actually, i spoke too soon...it just happened with my touchpad too ;/
damn.........it is however possible to play a move, somewhat, with the touchpad....with the mouse plugged in i couldnt do anything. as for some responses, i can tell you, from being a software engineer for 10 years, that a mouse should never cause a game content problem. the 2 are so unrelated its almost comical that this is possibly the reason its happening. its not even a graphical problem per se...graphics are all fine, the game doesnt crash or anything like that either...its just that the game content, menus etc, all disappear. yet you can still drag the map around fine, and yet you have no keyboard input either. as far as updating mouse drivers??? oh please!!! a mouse??? its a friggin mouse!! lol... basic OS PnP mouse drivers are all you ever need. most mice dont come with drivers (fancy ones come with config programs and company-propoganda crap programs), much less will they ever have upgrades to them. if we were talking about a video/graphic problem then yes you can bring drivers into the mix. this is just hilarious though.... |
Re: New Bug (and its symptoms)
Well, it's got to be conflicting somewhere, otherwise I'd say that you need a new mouse. And it looks like a new touchpad, too.

Re: New Bug (and its symptoms)
It sure sounds like a conflict somewhere between Dom and your system. I would not blame the mouse though, that is probably just how the glitch is happening to manifest itself.
I would suggest a clean re-install of Dominions. That often clears up weird problems like this. |
