Babylon 5 scenario idea

Is any one experience in making scenarios? Since there are a few Babylon 5 races out how about a scenario/campaign based on B5? Anyone up to building one?

i wouldn't say i have experience, but a while ago tried to make a scenarios, but stopped since you can't really control the AI in one, you can't say when X happens do Y...

The player owns one Starbase, and a bunch of fighters, trying to bring peace to the universe?

You would probably also want to use a B5 tech mod.

Once you know what you want, the scenario building is fairly easy.
Just set everybody to human control, and build colonies & ships & tech.
Once everything is set up, set the AIs back to computer control, and save the game.
Copy the savegame to the scenario folder, and look at the tutorial files to see how you should make yours.

Then zip it and upload.

Re: Babylon 5 scenario idea

well, a couple things. you cant get the AI to do squat, unless you are far more powerfull than them. Sooooo, here is an idea on how to fix that.

you could import a bunch of the bab5 races, and make the player actually controll B5. they would also get the planet its over (forget the name) which would be loaded past capacity (have to cheat a bit in setting up the scenario, but it can be done rather easily) with monoliths, intel facilities (can broadcast and intercept transmissions clear to the rim, right?) and storage facils (for all those weapon plats it should have)

and then you should have a sufficient score to demand that the AI do things. to ballance things out, so the player does not go constructing an empire or anything, mod the datafiles so that he can not build more bases than the one he starts with, and so that he does not get any space yards except a really piddly one that can construct with something like 500 a turn.

Then edit SJ's awesome hyperspace map so that system names and planets match the B5 universe, and plop the races down in it. then you can set the victory condition to 'defeat the shadows' or something, and give them a super-homeworld, and max technology so the B5 player has to get everyone at war with them in order to defeat them, but start out the game whereas most alien races are already fighting with each other.

not a super scenario, i admit. but its slightly in keeping with the theme, and might make a challenge if setup right, and if the ai works right.

I believe the planet is Epsilon 3

Great Maker your all going to think I was a BAB5 fan.

Question how are you going to make sure that a member of the staff is always high or drunk?

And what about sector 14.

A good idea would be making the events that occur as flashbacks. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif

Sounds like a good Idea.

Everyone I knew laughed at me for watching BAB5.

But what a story.

The Earth rebellion would make a good one as well.

who laughed? i'll smack em around.

the earth rebellion would be a good one, indeed. you could play B5, and you could make the Proxima system part of it, setup Proxima 3 as a splinter race (like a PPP breakaway) and set Mars to 'rioting' at the start of the game.

disable everyones construction abilities, and edit the intelligence file so that the only thing B5 can do is crew insurection and maybe ship-bomb.. then put a hacked facility in the SOL system that lowers intell chance by 100%, so the home defense fleet cant be stolen.

start the game with B5 controlling the whitestar fleet and maybe one EarthForce destroyer (what was the name of the first one to join their side?) and they have to use insurections to get the rest. EarthForce could have some of those slick Advanced Destroyers... oh yea.

Is there a B5 tech mod out there? Where can you download it from?
