Globals and Boosters

If I want to put up a Global and have to use a Booster (say I need 1 more level of Nature) can I use a booster to cast the Global or do you have to have it on your Mage/Pretender/ect Naturally?

2. Once the Global is cast can I take the booster OFF the mage that cast it or will that make the Global null and void as it says it stays up until dispelled or he is killed.

If you take a level away from the mage then the game might think the mage is dead as he no longer quaifies for the Global.

Thats important if you would have to use your pretender and say you had to use a Thistle mace.

Nice Global but you just hurt your battle prowness...

Thoughts....

1) You can use a booster.
2) Only the level of magic on the caster at the time of casting the global matters, so yes, you can take the booster off after you've cast the spell. A mage only counts as dead if it is neither alive nor undead.

Re: Globals and Boosters

You kind of threw me on that last line...

I understand if the Mage is killed, but does that mean an Undead Pretender (say a POD or Mater Lich) can't cast a global because he isn't living?

Or are you saying that if the Mage is Killed (made dead) or an Undead pretender is destroyed (or made not undead (LOL)anymore)?

Geeez, I hope this makes sense:doh:

Yes, he's just clarifying that Undead will qualify as "living" per the stipulations of having a global, though they are not technically "alive" - so just stating that they must be "alive" would be just as confusing as saying "alive or Undead". ;)

Don't make them dead or re-dead, and you'll be fine. :p

Yes, both undead and un-undead can cast global enchantments. But if either an undead or un-undead mage actually become permanently deceased, thus becoming either dead undead or dead un-undead the global will come down.

Re: Globals and Boosters

How many undead could an undead un-dead if an undead could un-dead un-undead?

Depends on caster level and available corpses really

Hmm, I think I should have added another dead at the end of that :D

BTW, does this mean if you have Ritual of Rebirth (or whatever that spell is that turns a mage, when it dies, into a Wight Mage) active, and the mage 'dies' (thus activating the Ritual), does this count as 'dying' for the purpose of clearing globals?

Undead is not dead. That's the moral of the story here. ;)

"This mage has ceased to be, it is an ex-mage!"
