Bug in weapon platforms
In combat the range are calculated from the nearest planet sector when the range penalty modifier is calculated from the top left corner.
For example when firing 5 squares down from the planet the range modifier is -80% but when firing 5 squares up from the planet the penalty is only -50%. |

I had noticed something similar to this. Basically, a while back, if you had CSM II and a planet has CSM I, you had an easy time glassing the planet -- your ships just stay out of range on strategic combat and pound it without counterattack.
I've noticed now you on tactical you can't target a planet with CSM II, unless you are well within range of CSM I. I've got a feeling this is more of a feature than a bug, but hey, if it's not in the list of things fixed in a patch, then maybe MM doesn't know about it and would like to fix it. |
