OT Dragon*Con (for Primitive)

Primitive, dude, per your request:

These are the dancers (from behind) for the group, Crux Shadows (a band more famous in Europe than in the US even though they are from Florida).

NOW, have you seen many more perfect a--es than these?

a friend of mine came back from D-C with pictures of these three or four naked chicks loosely wrapped (think Lee-Lou from the 5th Element) in yellow police-tape stuff that said "Imperial Occupied Zone." One of them was cute.

generally, i find that most con-girls are not all that great, and only hang out there because hard-up geeky guys will lavish attention on them. if you picked three random girls from the street and stood them next to one of the con-babes, the connie would probably pale in comparison.

When we're talking 10+ on the perfection scale, we need to make sure we get things correct. Leeloo (Milla Jovovich).

Though not as, hmmmmm, "spaced-out sexy" as her Leeloo character, her "Return to Blue Lagoon" movie is definitely worth checking.

[EDIT: Waiting on someone from the Ukraine to "hop" in here and brag a bit.]

The wierd thing is, I don't find Milla jojovich particularly attractive in other roles (not unnattractive, but nothing special) but as Leeloo...

*drools some more*

I propose we petition the owner of this thread to rename it to the "Who loves Leeloo? We do!" thread (or similar).

But, I tend to agree with you. Even at my age, I look at the "dark"/"gothic" girls with quite an attraction. And females in fantasy/sci-fi dress are equally stimulating.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">LOL, David! Yes, she's something in that garb. A sexier Version of Sidney in Alias and the German girl from "Run, Lola, Run".

Re: OT Dragon*Con (for Primitive)

A whole slew of us watched "Run Lola, Run" together and discussed various aspects of the movie for ... I don't know, quite a while. Things just kept coming up.

None of it was really all that noteworthy, except for the fact that one of my roommates, at the time, consistantly referred to the movie as "Jiggle Lola, Jiggle". It got to the point that his using that name did not seem in the slightest bit odd. The amusing part was watching someone's reaction when he would use that name, and everyone used to the conversation would react as though he used the proper name of the film.

Oh yeah, and don't bother with the dubbed Version. It is bad.

Slynky September 10th, 2003 05:01 AM

Re: OT Dragon*Con (for Primitive)

True, the dubbed Version loses a bit. Having lived in Germany for nearly 7 years, I love hearing the language again. Plus, the dubbed translation sucks. I like her, though. Was glad she could make her way to Hollywood...a roll in "The Borne Identity".

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I met those girls. There were 3 (and a guy or 2) walking around and I chatted with one of them. Inspected her "costume" as it were. She was small-breasted so the tape worked nicely on her. Didn't pay much attention to the other girls. Not sure why I didn't get a picture...maybe because it was nighttime out in the smoking area.

As to looks of "connies" as you call them, I'd have to agree and disagree. Meaning:

If I randomly, say, took the first 10 females that walked into WalMart and did the same thing at Dragon*Con, I'm pretty sure I'd rather have the 10 from the Con. That's using WalMart. NOW, if I took the first 10 females that walked into the IBM tower at 8 a.m. and compared them, I'd probably take the "IBM women".

Also, mind you, though I'm an old fart, I like the "gothic" look of the girls these days. So, for all the "goth girls" that were there, I'd have to say I'm a bit prejudiced in my opinions.

Just as I prefer girls with tattoos over those without.

Pretty girl + tattoo = exciting sex

Unfortunately, the formula is closer to this:

Pretty girl = she already has a boyfriend or husband
Average looking girl = she already has a boyfriend or husband
Unattractive girl = she might be single but you don't want her either.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">My own system is a little more complicated. For purposes of unfair and unwarranted stereotyping any given young lady is classified by belonging to two of the four following archetypes: Girl Next Door, Out of My League, Freak, and Skank.

Girl Next Door + Out of My League = Loser acts courtish, can't help it, gets nowhere
Girl Next Door + Skank = chase it, get some
Girl Next Door + Freak = relationship potential
Out of My League + Skank = No pursuit, careful approach, likely to have Large Suitors
Out of My League + Freak = try not to start conversation, she won't shut up and you get nothing
Skank + Freak = "Well that's a new one."

I never made much sense of 'pretty', so why not adopt a more complicated, and certainly equally flawed, model.

According to Dogbert, people can be classified by using two variables: cute/ugly and smart/stupid. Therefore, there are four types of girls:

1. cute and smart
2. cute and stupid
3. ugly and smart
4. ugly and stupid

Category #4 is the largest group, followed by #3, then #2, and then #1.

Re: OT Dragon*Con (for Primitive)

Time for a semi-serious pic.

Ever feel like you are a person trapped in a physical body that belongs to a different age? That's me. Perhaps I'm tipsy, or perhaps I feel like I just said...I'm a physically old man (52) trapped in a body that belongs to a different age. I'm 52. I have a Honda CRX that I've owned (that I purchased on Veteran's day...weird since I'm a vet of Viet Nam) 14 years ago. One owner car. My "glove". My GAWD, do I fit in that car and corner that baby! My wife who is 15 years younger is scared to ride in it with me. Well, because I DRIVE it like it was meant to be driven.

Japanese anime art. I love it! It's incredibly artistic and sexy.

Tattoos. Tribal, or mostly anything. I love it. Piercings. Belly, nipple, eyebrow...I don't care. I love it!

Games. Yes, I'm an addict. Strategy 'cause my hands don't function as fast as they should in "arcade" style games. Yes, I'm slower these days.

I'm 52.

I feel like I'm a generation behind. Born out of time, so to speak. Which brings me to music. AND, serves as an ending to boring you young people to death.

Music. Delerium, Enigma...two of my Favorites. BUT, let's not forget Garbage. And, though I may be prejudiced, I can't forget "my hometown band", Collective Soul...they live 8 miles from me. Eminem...Slim Shady himself. There's a poet! Listen to his words. Finally, I bring this weird message to a close by mentioning my latest enthusiastic interest...the Crux Shadows. A gothic band (music classified as "dark wave").

Below, you see the violin player. Yes, she's a beauty. Rogue, the singer, is in another photo I have. BUT, looks doesn't matter so much. Their music is SO, hmmmmmmmm, hypnotizing.

I'm an old fart who contradicts stereotyping. I sometimes feel like I belong in a different age but I'm trapped in an old fart's body. THAT sucks!

For those who are interested... Crux Shadows

Strangely, they are from the US (Florida) but are really popular in Europe. And, to their merit, they gave me the "time of day". Rogue didn't care how old I was. Now, THAT was really cool!

As for Music - share you tastes. Eminem is truly a poet, and as a Sociologist/Cultural theorist his commentry on the world is fantastic. Try Mystral tide for dark wave/industrial/goth - He is an old school mate who I shared a pad with - and he is responsible for heading my music tastes down that road.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Oh, don't worry. We put our carseat away about 5 years ago. Still have 2 children living at home so we have a typical 4-door. And a "pick'em up" truck. The CRX sits in the garage most of the time. I bought it 14 years ago and it only has 104k on it.
