For all those who *****ed about having to buy Space Empires Gold after buying Space Empires a year before had better never ***** to me again!

Maxis released a flawed and rather problomatic SimCity 4 in Janruary and have now just released an Expansion pack for the game that includes features the orginal should have had.

Add to the fact that Maxis's www.simcity4.com is one of the worst fricking game sites I have ever been to, topped off by a complete lack of support ability and customer help, Maxis can kiss my ***!

Shrapnel and Malfador are so far superior to Maxis, Fraxis, and QS that it makes me sick to think that I have shelled out good money to these companies only to purchase crap! Simcity 4 is vertually unplayable, even with the patches, and now they release an expansion pack that fixes a bunch of the original game problems and they want to get paid for it? Civ3 was a joke, and everyone knows it. Moo3, well......... trash is a kind word for that F-ed up game.

I am registared with Maxis, so is my game, but from some unknown reason I can no longer log onto their web site and get updates or post in the forums. Forums, a joke to be sure compared to this site or any site that has updated its forums since 1997.

There is no one to call, no one to email, no one to help. God you have to love a game that has no support, that is unless you want to pay for it.

I loved simcity 3, even the unlimited Version, but SimCity 4 is simply a great looking game that can not be played effectively. It is not enjoyable like SM3 was nor is it, even at this point, worth playing.

I will buy the expansion pack, what choice do I have, and try to play it. I paid 50 bucks for the game and have about 50 hours of actual game play with it. I play it hoping that I can learn it enought to enjoy it. Even after 50 hours I am still annoyed by the game and even more so because of the Expansion pack issue.

I read somewhere where the expansion pack was going to be free, but that never happened.

So if any one ever *****es again about shrapnel and malfador selling SE IV Gold, well then, they are wasting their breath as far as I am concerned.

does this expansion pack require the original game to run or is it standalone like se4 Gold? It might be worthwhile for those of us lucky enough not to have bought the original.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">six things to click on, no description of the game. can't remember if that one had contact number's or email's. actually, forgetting to describe the game is a bigger problem than you might think. often enough i've had to go to the fan sites to find out what something is about. and you'd think describing a game would be an OBVIOUS step.

I've bought the SimCity 4 Deluxe package for 50$ and have been quite satisfied by it. I find the gameplay just as fun as the other games in the series, and the Rush Hour features are really cool - new highways, roads, rails, and the ability to cruise around your streets etc. is quite fun.

Of course, I'm running a bit of a higher end system, so I cannot comment much on performance.

I really like Rush Hour. I do agree, the website is lacking and slow to load. Of course, a game description for the SC series is well, kinda unnecesary for many.
Anyhow, I hope that you can get your game running better than it has Atrocities. SC4 was fun before, but RH rocks.

It's funny this popped up, about 3 hours ago I was in the wal-mart across town looking at games and I was gonna buy Simcity 4 until I heard someone freaking out and berating a customer service rep about being ripped off in buying the game.

I feel sorry for that wal-mart employee, but i got the hell out of that department as fast as I could and left that game there. I was terrified about what he would say if he saw someone holding it! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Ok so I go out this morning and buy the Delux addition as the stores around here want as much for the Delux as they do for just the expansion pack.

I come back, install the game on the HP POS and go to www.simcity4.com to registar the game. I registar the game, filled out the form, and clicked I AGREE. A message pops up saying that a confirmation EMAIL was just sent and I need to acknowlege it before my account will be activated and I can access the features on the web site.

That was at 10 this morning. It is now nearly 10 pm and I have still not received an email.

I did the smart thing and took a screen capture of the form after I filled it out just in case something should happen. The Email address was correct, both times, so I should have received a confirmation email.

Nope. So I click on HELP and it directs me to the EA web site. That site is utterly useless for the problem I am having.

So I go back to www.simcity4.com and try to reregistar and guess what? My game serial number has already been registared and I can not use it for a new registration. So I try to log in. I get a nice message telling that I need to respond to the confirmation email that was sent to me. What confirmation email? I have yet to receive one. Normally such confirmation emails take only a few moments to be sent out. Not days.

If ever there was something that I would want to see blown up, it would be the Maxis web site.

Oh for the love of GOD! I go to EA support chat I get his message:

So I go to their tech support question system and ask a question and I get this:

Hell there is not even a catagory for SimCity 4 in their choice boxes!!!!!!!!!!! I do so desprately want to contact someone at EA games and yell at them at the top of my lungs!

Man I thought it an impossible task, making SimCity 4 into a worth while game, but boy did they pull it off here. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

This expansion pack really does a lot for making the game a great game. I actually enjoy playing it now and have even crashed a chopper, both the two wheel kind and the whirly bird kind. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

This is by far well worth the money I forked out.

The game is now quite fun to play. If you have not checked it out, this deleuxe Version is well worth it.

It worked for MOO3. I preordered that POS based on descriptions on the Web site and the forums. The descriptions painted a much different picture than what the game really is. I was expecting something more like MOO2.

I started playing and was soo bored I kept walking into the other room to see what was on TV. The wife kept asking me "Aren't you playing your new game?"

Granted though, I think most everyone has heard of the SimCity series. The title is self-explanatory too. The biggest difference between 3k and 4 is the region play though.
