thanks for the notice.

now hurry and finish your work quickly, so you'll be home before the game that I am in is auto-processed http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif .

Actually, the "under construction" message I am getting when I try to get to the website tells me that processing is probably stopped.

You all are having no problems because we got it back up before you tried it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

It was down for a bit, but we rebooted and everything looks ok now.

Yep its down - that memory is needed pronto so send that and youre paypal contributions so we can make the PBW SEIV site more user friendly.

Re: One of many threads about PBW outage issues

Umm... I highly doubt that the memory has anything to do with it, and it certainly will do nothing in regards to the user friendliness of PBW.

Re: One of many threads about PBW outage issues

I wonder how much cash Geo would need to get a totally "state of the art" server? Considering, that he would propably buy normal computer with W2K server OS, I would say the hardware would cost no more than 2000€ (or 2000$) + the cost of the OS.

This is what I get when I try to access the PBW site:

============

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, admin@pbw.cc and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Re: One of many threads about PBW outage issues

Do you think it is a Hardware issue, or a software one?

Could someone have hacked PBW and screwed it up? Or did it catch a virus? Any water drip on the Server? A power surge or sudden impact?

First try restarting it.
If that fails, follow the HP advice line and kick the computer repeatedly until toe hurts.
If that fails, load shot gun and shot PC once.

Then go buy new HP PC.

Auto turns already off? Deadline for NGC3 is in 15 hours, and I haven't uploaded... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif

Or is PBW down completely, so game turns won't be executed anyway?

Well that explains why I get an INTERNAL SERVER ERROR ( ~ 9:45 EST, Feb 3 ). At least I knew where to come for the straight information. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

So, is it getting to be time to pull a few dollars out and send them?

All hail Cirvol, a gentleman and a scholar, and a veritable database wizard. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

PBW is back up and running. There may still be some minor complications. We are still running down a couple loose ends, but the server is up, accepting prompts and running turns.

Automatic turn processing will remain off for the the immediete future so people can get caught up on their games.

Hmm, we've had a rash of that at work. Seems the latest antivirus patch went after some db files as if they were virus files.

Auto turns are off. Right now the server is shut down, so it woulnd't matter anyway. But once we get it back up the auto turns will stay off so people get a chance to catch up. There is a possibility some turns ran Last night. If that happened to you, have your game owner contact us once things are working again. We can set the turn back.

Re: One of many threads about PBW outage issues

Ok, should be back up now. http://seiv.pbw.cc/ will take you to a temporary redirect page. There's a message and a link there to the IP for the server. http://69.3.206.249/ ,or you can just go straight there if you prefer. A couple of days and we'll get all the ISP stuff straightned out hopefully and you'll be able to reach it straight fomr it's old address.
